Stopped at this beautiful gem for an overnight stay on our way back to Florida. Arrived past office closing and with good direction from office gal had no problems getting through gate and to our camp site #60 Deer Court (next to Camp Host). Immediately got treated to a wildlife viewing of three deer walking through the campground! We Thoroughly enjoyed meeting the Camp Host and his wife who were very accommodating and friendly. Enjoyed a morning walk with my Golden Retrievers in the fantastic wooded surroundings. Serene and beautiful!!! We camped at Lakepoint Resort State Park in a Motorhome.

We made reservations for 4 nights at Deer Court (50 amp) pull through in April 2017. I received a confirmation number, and my credit card was charged for one night. We were joining family members from other states. We were traveling from Florida in 36' Allegro, golf cart, car, and pontoon boat. Arrived at Marina to check in on May 26th. They had no reservation for us. They said you should have received an email of your reservation. What was the name of the person here who made the reservation? I said you charged my credit card. Here is the charge. I have a confirmation number. They said my confirmation number was no good. If I received an email, I did not keep it. Other family members had asked for adjoining campsites. That did not happen. After traveling for hours, we were not happy campers. They found us a 50 amp site backin. I think my credit card had been charged for approximately $31, and I paid another $4. They gave us the other three nights free. We appreciated not having to find another campground. This event spoiled some of our trip. If we go again, I will call a few times to confirm our campsite. I would request a pull through. Most of the back ups, back up to woods and brush. The gnats were awful. Don't forget your deet! The bathroom was clean except for the shower which contained hair and a roach. One of the best kept secrets of the park is the buffet at the lodge. I had read a review about the buffet. We went for the Sunday noon buffet $9.95. Roast beef and fried chicken with country veggies. It was some of the best country cooking. Kudos to the chefs! Friday night is a seafood buffet. $12.95. Both buffets will be on our itinerary on our next visit. Our next visit will be at least a week. If I was a full time RVer, I would recommend a long stay. The Deer Court campground would be my choice. Good luck with your reservations. We camped at Lakepoint Resort State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The closet grocery store is a Piggly Wiggly. Going into Eufala. Take a right at the traffic light, after passing the old antibellum mansions. The Piggly Wiggly is behind the Rite-Aid drug store. There is also a super Walmart. It is a few miles further down on the outskirts of Eufala.

We stayed her one night on our way to Florida. We had reserved a lakefront site in Clark Loop. We were given a site number over the phone when we made our reservation but when we arrived, we were given a different number which wasn't a big deal. The problem was, when we got to the site, someone was on it and there weren't any other lakefront sites open on that loop. Matters were further aggravated because the registration building is pretty far from the campground. We didn't want to haul our 41' camper back around so we called the office. They sent a host over immediately who was very friendly and simply told us to pick another site. Obviously, this was a park mistake since no one asked the other camper to leave but again, we were only there one night so we weren't too pressed about not having the lakefront site. The sites on this loop are a little odd. The hookups are on the same side as the fire pit and picnic table so you have to run you electric and water under your camper. We ended up on a pull thru interior site which was very level and roomy. We rode through the other loops and they seemed nice. It was very quiet at night. We would probably stay there again if ever in the area. We camped at Lakepoint Resort State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

My family and I stayed here one night on our way to Florida. Very picturesque campground that is about 1.5 miles drive from the marina where you check in. We understood that school had already started during our visit, so there were very few campers in the park. The camp sites are in amongst beautiful tall trees and all appeared to be very level pull throughs. There is a beach shown off of the lake on the campground map very near our site in Deer Court, that we walked over to thinking we would relax there. Upon arriving, however, there was a prominent sign announcing that alligators could be in the area (we didn't see any) and that swimming in the lake was at your own risk. The beach was full of weeds and not useable.

Other than that, I imagine that this park is busy during the summer when school is out and the marina and surrounding lake looked spectacular. The staff was very friendly and we would stay here again. We camped at Lakepoint Resort State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Eufaula is a must visit. Driving down main street was a drive into history and is a great example of small town America and the amazing architecture produced during that era. Don't miss Fendal Hall and the Shorter mansion. We ate at the Cajun Corner downtown and the food was great. I ate blackened chicken pasta and my wife ate fried oysters and blackened catfish. There is a Liberty gas station south on route 431 that has a fenced off area containing alligators.

This was just an overnight for us. I had made reservations online for a full hookup pull thru at Deer Court. The staff member who checked us in was so friendly and helpful. We were assigned a site but she told us if we wanted another one to park wherever we liked and just let her know. We were happy with the site we got. It was long and level. A little narrow but there's plenty of room between sites. The sites could use a little cleaning up. Lots of pine cones and needles and debris all over. The utilities were way in the back. The sewer was a little odd and angled awkwardly. I posted a pic of that. No water view at Deer Court. No wifi, no cable, no off leash dog park. There also seemed to be quite a number of longterm residents at Deer Court. Quiet at night but well lit. It's a beautiful park that is looking a little neglected. I wouldn't mind staying here again. We camped at Lakepoint Resort State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 7 nights at a "lakefront lot" that you pay $7.50/night more for. We were in the Clark Loop, water/electric. There is a loop that has FHU that is the same price as a waterfront lot but no view of the lake. Was a little disappointed that our fire ring was full of ashes like it hadn't been cleaned for some time. The hookups in this loop are on the wrong side of the campsite with a curb stop in front of it which made it hard for us to get our door where it was either in front of or behind it. Very unusual setups here. The campground is actually on the west side of the highway (you go in and drive back over the highway) and is way back and not close to the marina or lodge (restaurant) which is on the east side of the highway. There are lots of deer around. Probably wouldn't stay here again. Pricey and nothing to do here. We camped at Lakepoint Resort State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

It is a shame that beautiful state parks such as Lakepoint are not maintained. This is a huge park, lake and lodge that has all of the amenities you want. We stayed in the Deer Court campground where the roads are worn out with ruts and holes. The sites are spacious with grass all around and trees abundant. The utilities worked well and each site has a fire ring and table.
There are hiking trails everywhere. I was told the golf course will be closed soon or sold off (due to lack of funds). The marina store is well stocked and the employees are not exactly welcoming or helpful. The boat slips are loaded with old filthy pontoon and house boats. The rental boats, as few as they are, should be sold and new purchased. Unfortunately, a lot of the services were closed while we were there, however we did walk in to the lodge. It is a full-service hotel, convention center and restaurant. They served a seafood buffet Friday night and offer breakfast and lunch. Quite a nice facility among a dying park.
I would stay here again because the positive far out weighs the negative. We camped at Lakepoint Resort State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to take the short drive into historic Eufaula. The old downtown buildings are amazing and the residential mansions likewise. We always seek out older/local cafe's and restaurants so we ate at the Cajun Corner for lunch and Barb's Country Kitchen for breakfast. If you want 5 star dining, don't go to either. If you like a dive where locals go and the facility is not as clean or well maintained, enjoy these. The food is good and the portions are large.

We stayed in Deer Loop in order to have full hookups. The restrooms were very clean and well kept...in this loop. The other loops seemed to be dirtier I guess because of the constant use. We liked this campground because it was quiet, shady, and level. The people at the front desk were very nice. However, Deer loop does not have a water view. The other loops had a water view so you have to decide what you want to sacrifice. I gave it an 8 because it was a little expensive, and there wasn't a water view. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a fifth wheel. We camped at Lakepoint Resort State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Be sure and try out the buffet at Lakeside restaurant. Best country cooking around and you get to see some small aircraft landing and taking off. Kinda cool.

Our site was a large and level pull through with full hookups and 50 amp electric, a treat for a state park. Signage entering the park is confusing. They have closed the check in at the campground, so you have to go to the marina office to check in for the campground. Signage doesn't make that clear and the campground is a mile or so from the marina office. All in all, though, the park is great with lots of water and green space with lots to do. This is one of several Alabama state parks slotted for probably closure by the state legislature, so enjoy it soon. We camped at Lakepoint Resort State Park in a Motorhome.

We needed a stopover for the night and were lucky to find this, right off the road we were taking to FL. I called to see what time they close and realized we would not make it in time. The lady on the phone gave me a gate code and said to just find a spot and come in the morning to the marina to pay. Once we got in the gate, we weren't sure where to go. There is a building inside the gate that we stopped at to look for maps or info. Luckily another camper came and I asked her where to go and if we should unhook. She told me which loop to go to and said there were plenty of pull-through sites available. The site and park were very easy to maneuver in our 40'. The next morning we went to check-in/check-out. I was hoping to just pay and leave. There was one ranger checking people in, and it took so long that my husband sent the kids in to check on me. When it was my turn, I had to give an amazing amount of information, which seemed useless since we were on our way out. We camped at Lakepoint Resort State Park in a Motorhome.

Spacious sites, not very private, beautiful lake front site. Fished from the bank and caught mostly bass. Comfort station was very clean, showers roomy. Paved roads into loop need some work; potholes and cracked. Prices were bit high for state park with water and electric only. Check in staff at marina was helpful and friendly, but returned next day for propane tank filling and encountered a surly staff member who was not friendly, didn't want to help with bait, and overcharged for campsite. Darn Alabama ants invaded our camper by third day of stay! Stayed in Clark Loop. We camped at Lakepoint Resort State Park in a Travel Trailer.
