First, let me start with the positives. The staff was very friendly. Even with a major tractor show going on this weekend, the park was clean. All the utilities worked well, including the wifi. There are several hiking trails, and the Noccalula Falls Park (about 1/2 mile walk) is very nice and worth spending an afternoon - or more. Now the down side. Most (the majority - there are a few exceptions) are very close together. I could not fully extend my main awning without literally hitting the RV in the site next to me. The utilities are all at the rear of the sites, and that can mean needing to run extra water and sewer hoses to reach. The water outlet is for two sites. If you are showering and the other RV turns on the water, you will know it. Even so, water pressure was good - almost too good. I had to keep my pressure regulator on the water hose to keep the hose from leaking around the connections. The roads were poorly maintained, which made staying under the posted 5 MPH speed limit no problem; you wouldn't even want to drive faster than that. There were several 40 foot motorhomes in the park when I was there, so it can be done. But overall, this park was designed for a time when RVs were much smaller and more compact. Still, it is a good base for exploring the Gadsden area. We camped at Noccalula Falls Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't miss Noccalula Falls Park. If you are in good shape and feel adventuresome, hike down the gorge trail and go under the Falls. Black Creek Trail is easily accessible from the campground and is about 6 miles of nice gravel road. It is an easy walk and good for mountain biking. Little River Canyon is about 45 minutes drive away - a great sight.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here Sept.30 in site #A-6. Our 30'10" FW fit nicely on the concrete pad. Backing in was somewhat of a challenge since one side of the pad was about 6" above ground. The cable service was good but the Wi-Fi was somewhat spotty. The falls are quite pretty and just a short walk from the campground. Our BIGGEST issue with this campground was ants. We had an invasion into our FW ... they climbed up the water line. I didn't notice until the next morning that several sites near us had ant poison sprinkled on the concrete pad. If you camp here, make sure you take precautionary measures to keep the little buggers at bay. We camped at Noccalula Falls Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is the second time staying at this CG. It is very easy access off I-59. As with a lot of parks - some spaces are great and others a bit on the narrow side. The narrow ones have a lot of space directly behind them - so that is a plus, but it doesn't allow a lot of room for parking just one vehicle. We happened to have one of the narrow spaces our first 3 nights (A4) but because we decided to stay longer we had to move - and that actually turned out to be a bonus - great wide spot (B7). Being right next to Noccalula Falls City Park was nice, too - great walking trails and walking around on the rocks. Cable channels weren't too numerous and wifi was pretty typical for campgrounds - but we would definitely go back. For the price - you can't beat this place. Within an hour's drive there is plenty to explore especially in DeKalb County, AL. We camped at Noccalula Falls Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Like others, mixed feelings on this campground. The staff was very nice. The falls were beautiful. Gadsden itself has a lot of shops and restaurants. This campground, is older and the sites are very close together (think a KOA, but even closer). Bigger rigs could have a tough time getting into a few sites. If you have a good spotter, you'll make it in... but the tight spots and trees can make it very, very tough. They do not reserve the pull-through sites, we were able to grab one on a first come/first serve basis. Our pad actually shared a parking spot, with the camper next to us. They had to park in front of our 5th wheel; we parked in the back. On the weekend, this place is very hard to navigate. Roads are a bit rough. Most sites had picnic tables and fire pits. Price was right. Nice playground for kids and there is a small pool. I did not see a dog run. I would give this property, a score of 7.5 stars. We camped at Noccalula Falls Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tree-shaded, secure (gated), FHU sites in a city park right in town with a very helpful staff, a picnic pavilion, a picturesque waterfall, and a paved trail along the river were the positives. Crumbling concrete RV pads; narrow, sloping, too-short sites; broken utility connections; and off-season closures of most of the many other park attractions were the negatives. Just a little better maintenance and some site repaving would make this one of the most attractive city-owned campgrounds in the South! We camped at Noccalula Falls Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is easy to access and is in a beautiful location adjacent to Noccalula Falls themselves. Our site is a back-in and has a concrete pad (yeah). The grounds are well maintained by city staff who are very friendly. We camped at Noccalula Falls Campground in a Motorhome.

Bring good walking shoes and a walking cane if you're a bit unsteady with walking on gravel. Very nice laundry facility. $1.00 a load to wash. Same for drying. They do have a pool but it's October so that's null. They do have a children's playground.

This park is in a great location to explore Gadsden and surrounding areas. The price is right and the amenities good but there are too many sites that are jammed in together. In some, it's hard to tell which hookups belong to you. Thankfully the fire rings are just rocks so we were able to move ours to a better location. Yes, there's lots of trash bins but the whole park could use a good clean up and rearrangement. We camped at Noccalula Falls Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Hike the gorge and go behind the waterfall. Eat at the Thai restaurant nearby. Take a compass if you hike the mountain trails north of the campground because there are very few trail markers.

We stayed 2 nights on site A36. They don't rent out #35 so we could use it to park our truck. We were in the back of the park, right near the trails. Nice shady spot with plenty room for our chairs. Site had a picnic table and fire ring. The park has wifi, but we couldn't pick it up. Too far from the source I suppose. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back. Campground has different types of sites and different prices, so visit the web site for fees for different types of sites, all discounts honored, etc. I spent just one night here but I did find the park clean and well kept. The employees were busy in the morning emptying trash, picking up any trash on the ground, etc. Very nice people. They have way too many tall pines and too many spaces close together, but I was told that they were doing "surveying" in preparation for changes. The park is very nice and a fun place to spend an afternoon, with lots of water flowing over the 90 ft waterfall due to the recent rains. I picked a 30 amp/water only site as I was there only one night, so I stayed right up front. Wi-Fi worked well. The park is gated and patrolled, so you have a feeling of being safe. Convenient as it is about 7 miles off of Interstate 59 and only two miles from US431. I was in my 24 ft Winnebago View without any toad, so it was easy in and out for me. Tips for other Campers:

There is a Thai restaurant across the street from the park that gets good Google ratings, and a Jacks hamburgers/chicken/breakfast (very nice too!) right in front of the park. There is also a Dollar General store less than a block up the street should you need something, along with a bank, ATM, gas station, and Subway, also another gas station right across from the campground entrance.

The falls are less than a five minute walk from the campground and are spectacular. The grounds are clean and wooded. The infrastructure is older but the pads are concrete which is good. This is part of a city park and there is a flat and wide gravel trail running next to the campground with the gorge beyond. Some of the sites are impossibly close to others, a slab was angled three feet from ours, BUT they do not seem to rent those, spacing folks out. In general, the spaces are close , but livable. Lots of trees and shade. Pleasant. We camped at Noccalula Falls Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground was great, except the campsite itself. We had excellent wifi, nice clean facilities, ample trash receptacles, great walking and hiking trails, good cable hookups. The campsites are incredibly narrow and close together is my only real complaint. If they could fix that this place would be great! We camped at Noccalula Falls Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
