Stayed here to visit Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Was a bit nervous after reading prior reviews but guessing maybe something changed because certainly not as described. Not a resort ($17/night - really?) but extremely quiet, clean, and wonderful staff. Wooded but site was more than adequate for our 40' MH. There were some older units (as well as many new) and some obvious seasonal - all very well-kept. Certainly did not see lots of mold and mildew. Relaxed, comfortable, and felt safe in this rustic campground, so much so that we stayed extra day. Will return when in area again. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is rundown. Permanent structures on site not usually a problem with us but all of them had mold and mildew on them. Nice shade trees. Staff friendly, owners not so much. Not really pet friendly unless your dog stays in RV, doesn't bark and doesn't urinate on their grass. Owner came to our site and began to scream at us which made dogs bark more and told us we had to get out. Allowed us to stay that night til we could find a place to go. I have never in my life been treated like that. Nicer places to stay for less money. Do not recommend this RV Park We camped at Gulf Coast RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lots of nice shade trees in this older campground. Staff very friendly and helpful. Laundry was clean and economical. Bathrooms very clean. Campsites need a little TLC. Our site had a rotting boardwalk to a shed. Our neighbors put their picnic table over the hole in their wood patio so they wouldn't fall in it. Back part of the campground seems to be a graveyard/storage for campers and other things with wheels. Roads are little tight. For the price---it was a fine place to camp. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here for 5 days. Very quiet park.... imagine a 1960s park with shade trees, good wifi, cable tv, laundry and concrete pads. We like this kind of parks. On site owner runs an RV repair service which is a nice touch. Pretty nice. My wife and I like these old fashioned trailer camps... they are out there and they are a gem to find. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice and quiet RV park. We rolled in after dark and our dang motorhome backfired, scaring the crap out of everyone!! Then I flooded the laundry room, trying to wash a comforter.... The staff and full-time residents were amazingly kind and super friendly and helpful!! Would totally stay here again. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Park in a Motorhome.

Make sure you research this park before you put down a deposit. I regret paying a $100 deposit to hold a place for me and it wasn't necessary. Upon arriving I was very disappointed. The place is run down and very unkempt. There are leaves and branches all over the place and many permanent campers that are in poor condition and covered with mildew. The owners are very nice but take little interest in having a top notch facility. Don't expect to be online because their wifi seldom works and again, they have little interest in its upkeep. I stayed for the full month because they wouldn't refund my deposit. There were many unused sites so I could have just driven in and stayed as long as I wanted. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Gulf Shores offers much to do. The restaurants are plentiful. Fresh sea food is abundant. There are places to bike, hike, canoe, and fish. The beaches are gorgeous and the traffic in the area is very light for such a beautiful place.

We came expecting to receive Passport America 50% discount as advertised on the PA site and the campground's own website. Their normal rate is $22, plus they charge you $2 for cable, all plus tax. We were charged $15 which after I went away and thought about it, didn't add up. They stated that the "free" wifi was included with the $2 cable charge, so if you don't want cable (we didn't), you couldn't have the wifi, which we need. That's sneaky, and sharp practice in my opinion. I questioned the rate we'd been charged with the owner (Tom) and he stated "Oh, it's the lodging tax. We have a real high tax rate here. In fact, it should be $15.07 but we round it down to $15". So after working that out, it came to 16.34% tax on the $11 + $2 rate. I called the Depts of Revenues in Alabama State, Baldwin County and Gulf Shores City to check the facts. There is no lodging tax, but there is normal sales tax. The tax rates are:- a) 4% state b) 3% county c) 2.5% city Total: 9.5%, which applied to $13 comes to $14.23. I then politely put these points to Tom, whose response was to go very red and shout over & over again, "Don't you worry about the taxes" before walking off. Anecdotal evidence from other residents suggested that this was normal practice at this site, especially for folks from out the area. As the owner refused to discuss my questions with me, I cannot therefore verify the position with how they apply tax. I can only post tax rate information as supplied to me by the authorities and the amounts charged by the site, which do not add up. I have however reported the matter to the three relevant departments and am content to leave it with them. They only accept cash, and we were only issued with a handwritten yellow piece of paper without any address or other issuer's information on it. It simply showed the dates of stay and a total - no breakdown. The site is run down and not welcoming in any way, although our neighbors were nice. There is no way we would ever stay here again. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Park in a Motorhome.

This place is a wreck. There is no swimming pool, sites and roads are NOT paved. I called to reserve and said we had a 40 ft rig with tow. We barely fit in the park roads and there was only 1 spot we could get into. They had to move a small RV that was in the space. We were having mail sent here so we had to stay. Having said all of this, the owners are nice and helpful. But that is not a reason to stay here!! We camped at Gulf Coast RV Park in a Motorhome.

Some of the comments on the below posts are correct. Put the park is clean with a lot of trailers stored here. The rec room was clean as was the laundry. The site was large enough for our 40 foot fiver and tow vehicle to park. Electric was very good. The rate we paid is based on Passport America rates. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We made reservations for 1 week here. And looking at the pictures on their website, the place looked like it would be great for the 1 week time slot. Please do not believe their pictures. The place is a mess. We actually had to move 2 tires off of our site. We could not use our awning as the tree branches were in the way. The club house is a mess with junk all over. FEMA trailers through out the park. Roads through out park have BIG pot holes. Thank the dear Lord that Gulf Shores is soooo beautiful. We didn't stay at the RV park much except to sleep. Never again. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Old park, Wi-Fi only works inside the rec center which is only used for pot luck dinners periodically. Gravel spaces with leaves and limbs everywhere, older rigs parked permanently on several spaces. Owners are friendly but there is not someone on site all the time. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
