we camped here for SEC Baseball Championship tournament. The cost was for the session which was 9 days/8 nights. No discount available. The campground manager was available when needed and was very personable and helpful. the site had full hookups, asphault lot (not much grass) and minimal trees. But, hey, we were here for the ballgames. Ideal place to camp for this tournament! Very close to shopping and restaurants. We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Motorhome.

No amenities but great for over night stay. It was very clean and easy pull in and out. It had convenient full hook up. If you're looking for more space get the spots by traffic islands. We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

As stated elsewhere, a parking lot transformed into a FHU RV lot. A bit pricey for a parking lot, but it was clean, neat and secure. WIFI was strong, but tended to disconnect repeatedly. Convenient landing place to visit Hoover area. Other municipalities would be well served to copy this model. We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Motorhome.

We did get the Holiday special which was 700.00 for the month. Which is no special for a parking lot. We stayed back in the summer and the WiFi was very good and water pressure wasn't as bad as it is now. The WiFi has been shut way down and what you do get is very slow. And the water pressure is very low. You cant flush and wash hands at same time. RVers understand how to do that. We use to come here very regular but we are done. Can't afford this and for a parking lot no facilities except hook ups. No laundry no pool no bathhouse. I think Hoover should be ashamed of them selves for charging these prices . Spaces aren't big enough for RV and tow. The tow has to be parked in another space if available. So you park in the driving row. We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a parking lot built specifically for RVer's. It is new and clean but you have to be self contained. It is great for a short stopover on the way south. We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We went to the Vulcan Park and Museum, a CAA GEM. It was very interesting with a great little museum and of course the gigantic statue of the god Vulcan. We also went to the Sloss Historic Park. It has a self guided brochure tour and was interesting but not as good as the first park. We didn't get to the Civil Rights Museum which is supposed to be very good. Costco and Walmart are within 5 miles of the park.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here because of the location. It had very good Verizon and AT&T signal and the wifi was excellent. It is way overpriced for what you get. It is a paved parking lot with full hookups placed throughout. The utilities are in excellent shape although the sewer is high (hard to make it run uphill). The location at the ballpark is near shopping and easy access to the highway. Costco and Walmart both within a couple of miles as well. It was very hard to get a reservation as they didn't answer phone messages and only answered my third email. Checking in was a little strange as well. We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have previously used this park and like it . We stopped by to see the changes and thought about staying here while in town. They have recently redone park and have since raised the rates tremendously $45/$275/$900. We won't be staying here. Other than repaving it. There are no real changes from it was before except the prices. No restrooms, paved parking lot, which would be fine with us since we are self contained and never use park facilities but is not good value . We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

It is a blacktop parking lot. The older sites closer to the arena are not at all level. The newer sites (we stayed in site #105) are better. It was almost empty when we stayed there in June. $45 seems like a lot but it was perfectly fine, clean and quiet. There is no office. Don't bother going into the arena; they hardly know the RV park is even there. The only way to reach the park office is via email at rvpark@hoovermetcomplex.com. You send them an email and they answer promptly with a form for you to fill out and email back to them with a credit card number, no cash, no checks. The wifi was great the first 2 days and down for the remainder of our visit (2 more days). No cable but many over the air channels. We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Motorhome.

The rates have been increased since they finished part of the recreation center complex. The campground seems to have more sites, and it's like its been in previous review. Rates are now $45 daily and $278 weekly...Quite an increase for what you get. We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

It is a parking lot with full hook ups. Assuming you can park next to your coach (we were able to) the sites are roomy and getting around is fine. If fully loaded and the spot next to you is taken by an RV then it is very tight, as the sites are not long enough for a coach and a car. Surprisingly, the WiFi worked well when we were there. They will be closing I believe in June for a year so not sure what the park will look like after the rebuild. We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This "campground" is basically a parking lot they have added full hookups to. The price is extremely steep for what you are getting, and when we were here on a Saturday night, there was a some sort of event happening in the stadium next door that involved very loud (and bad) music until 10pm. I would have said it was fine for an overnight stay, but the noise from the event coupled with the fact that it's not that easy to get to, I would not recommend it. I would never want to stay here for an extended period of time, because there is no separation between sites. We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a nice place to stopover as it is right off the interstate and located in a suburb of Birmingham. All sites are pull through. You have to unhook if you're towing and total length is longer than 45'. There are no bath houses currently (2016) but they will be available after the park reopens in 2017. Full hookups including 50 amp service but spotty Wifi at best.

This was posted at the park March 2, 2016: "The Hoover RV park will be temporarily closed effective June 1, 2016. The RV Park will reopen on May 1, 2017. The park is also sold out for the SEC Baseball Tournament which runs from May 20 - May 30, 2016. For any questions you can call (866) 466-8378." We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Motorhome.
