Overall Rating:

Very nice Good Sam park with friendly staff and wide gravel spaces and exceptionally wide gravel roads. Be careful, as the roads have speed bumps which will rock a large motorhome. There is a very large fenced dog park with seating. All parts of the park are well maintained. Free WiFi and cable. All sites have a round metal picnic table but no chairs. Verizon 4G signal was average strength. Power was running 118 in the 80-degree afternoon; very good considering all the A/C units running. Your GPS may send you to the wrong area. It is on the east side of the road at a traffic light just before you cross the river if you are going north. You don't see the park from the traffic light as it is about 1,000' east of the light. We did not see any signs announcing the park direction. Most of the rigs in the park are well maintained newer equipment; we found only one exception. We have stayed at well rated Good Sam parks that obviously were improperly rated. This park should be the standard for a very good rating across the Good Sam system. We would return here. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Big rig friendly with level sites. Easy on and off from I65. Showers and laundry were good. Large dog park but did not provide doggy bags. The campground was easy to ride bicycles. Wi-Fi was okay. No problem using our satellite. No swimming pool. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Montgomery and Wetumpka were about 8 miles away. Walmart and shopping center about 20 minutes away. Great Mexican restaurant about 2 miles. Drivers were not friendly to motorcycles.

Clean spacious. Grass and small patio. Small patio table. Thick gravel sites. Huge dog park, but no dog baggies or doggie disposal can anywhere in the park. This was a very nice clean park, and if you had something to do in the area, more than one night would work. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a couple of years ago and came back for a 2 night stay. The owner of the campground was very friendly and informative. The grounds were clean and neat and so were the restrooms. The sites were spaced nicely apart and the site was a pull-through, easy to get in and out. We needed some RV repair work done and the owner referred us to a place right up the street (they did a great quick repair)! Park is quiet at night and they do monitor traffic speed through the park. Great location in the city too! We'll go back there next time we visit Montgomery for sure! We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

For a commercial park, this place is very good. Nicely separately sites with a little grass and small trees between. Full hook-ups well sited and easy to use. All sites are pull through, wide and level. Hard to believe, but Wi-Fi is very good and reasonably fast except during peak times. Downtown, stores, and restaurants not far away on good roads. Many cable TV channels. Nice little concrete patio with a table. We would return. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lovely! Stopped here for an overnight not expecting much, and was very impressed. Large, clean, and level pads. Good gravel throughout. Cable TV and very good wifi included. Bonus was a good-sized fenced dog park. Will mark this CG as a favorite in this area. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate is based on month stay. This campground would be so much more attractive WITHOUT all the traffic cones. Owner is more concerned with traffic direction than beauty even though roads and amount of cars are plenty wide enough to accommodate 2 way. Nice dog park but pet owners aren't good about picking up after pets. One simple solution that might help is for owner to provide garbage can at park to dispose of bags easily. Sites are very level and all are pull through. Nice pond with some good sized fish. Traffic noise is issue, bring earplugs if this bothers you. Wifi not very good, even close to office got 2 bars. Cable is basic, not many extra channels. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great park, sites are all pull-thru and altho gravel, pretty level. It is convenientmy located to shopping and to Montgomery. Very easy in and out. It is a large park with a pond which is lovely for walking around. There is also a nice size dog park. There is a mix of long-term residents and over-nighters. It is a pretty clean park except for those people who don't pick up their dog poop and it seemed as if most of those people were the long-term folks. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This CG is fairly new and well-designed. Every site is a full hook-up pull-through. The gravel roads are easy to drive and the sites are level and each has a small grassy area and a small table. The sites are close together. Amenities include a very nice dog fenced dog park, a pond (decorative), and a kids' play area. The CG is NOT convenient from I-85. There is some road noise at night but not intrusive. The CG is immaculate and the owner is considerate - for instance, there are no check-ins after 7 pm because he doesn't want the noise to disturb campers. This CG is not charming/beautiful but it is extremely functional and reasonable priced, and as a result it is always full! We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice level gravel based sites. All pull thru. Good wifi that was free. No shade to speak of and fairly close to 231. Large number of full timers but overall neat and clean. Yes, there must have been a sale on traffic cones. Would come again. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very stringent on rules, almost to the point of annoying. As long as I drive in the correct direction and park within my assigned space, does it really matter if my truck is parked at an angle. It is not in the way. Have to pull all the way forward because the owner likes it that way. Uniformity like a military unit. Park looks like someone got a good deal on traffic cones, too. They are all over the place. Good water pressure, good wifi, cable tv, nice sized dog park. Sites were long and wide. Not a bad place, but jeez, rules for rules sake. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nicest manager...easy check in, answered all the questions we had, led us to the site. Very nice pull through site with plenty of room for slides and awning as well as the tow car. Good power and water pressure along with CATV. Didn't use Wi-Fi. Great dog park...named after owners dog. It was large enough to run our Golden Retrievers with lots of grass and very clean. Looked like everyone picked up after their pet which was wonderful - and sometimes unusual. We would return again when in the area. Very pleased with this campground. Excellent RV park with courteous owners. Park laid out very well, with campers facing north/south so the RV blocks the sun in the afternoons. Easy in and out. Office is not stocked but there is a Wal-Mart and RV dealer nearby. Sites are gravel with a concrete patio. Neighbors' hookups were hidden behind bushes. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is clean and convenient. They are very rules driven, you can't check in after 7:00 pm, everything is "one way" so you have to loop around the park to get in & out. There are orange cones all over the place. Nice but very anal about everything. We would stay here again but we found it funny how anal they were. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

For a "non-resort" park this is about as good as it gets. We had a premium pull-through, which appears to be where they like to put the short-stay travelers. The site was much wider and longer than average for private parks and even had little hedges between it and the neighboring sites. Roads and sites are crushed gravel but we had a concrete patio and a nice table; all you had to bring were your own chairs. The park is just off a "ring road" around Montgomery so it is accessible to both I-65 and I-85. The office person who checked us in was quite pleasant. There are a lot of long term residents here but the park was one of the best looking we have seen; all sites were neat and tidy. One thing they insist on is a 5 mph speed limit. One thing I liked was that even though they try to keep you from driving on their grass areas they do so with lightweight plastic highway markers; if you accidentally touch one nothing will get damaged. IMO this is a lot better than parks that use large boulders or other immovable objects as markers that can damage your RV if you should graze them. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.
