Great park, sites are all pull-thru and altho gravel, pretty level. It is convenientmy located to shopping and to Montgomery. Very easy in and out. It is a large park with a pond which is lovely for walking around. There is also a nice size dog park. There is a mix of long-term residents and over-nighters. It is a pretty clean park except for those people who don't pick up their dog poop and it seemed as if most of those people were the long-term folks. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This CG is fairly new and well-designed. Every site is a full hook-up pull-through. The gravel roads are easy to drive and the sites are level and each has a small grassy area and a small table. The sites are close together. Amenities include a very nice dog fenced dog park, a pond (decorative), and a kids' play area. The CG is NOT convenient from I-85. There is some road noise at night but not intrusive. The CG is immaculate and the owner is considerate - for instance, there are no check-ins after 7 pm because he doesn't want the noise to disturb campers. This CG is not charming/beautiful but it is extremely functional and reasonable priced, and as a result it is always full! We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice level gravel based sites. All pull thru. Good wifi that was free. No shade to speak of and fairly close to 231. Large number of full timers but overall neat and clean. Yes, there must have been a sale on traffic cones. Would come again. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very stringent on rules, almost to the point of annoying. As long as I drive in the correct direction and park within my assigned space, does it really matter if my truck is parked at an angle. It is not in the way. Have to pull all the way forward because the owner likes it that way. Uniformity like a military unit. Park looks like someone got a good deal on traffic cones, too. They are all over the place. Good water pressure, good wifi, cable tv, nice sized dog park. Sites were long and wide. Not a bad place, but jeez, rules for rules sake. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nicest manager...easy check in, answered all the questions we had, led us to the site. Very nice pull through site with plenty of room for slides and awning as well as the tow car. Good power and water pressure along with CATV. Didn't use Wi-Fi. Great dog park...named after owners dog. It was large enough to run our Golden Retrievers with lots of grass and very clean. Looked like everyone picked up after their pet which was wonderful - and sometimes unusual. We would return again when in the area. Very pleased with this campground. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Excellent RV park with courteous owners. Park laid out very well, with campers facing north/south so the RV blocks the sun in the afternoons. Easy in and out. Office is not stocked but there is a Wal-Mart and RV dealer nearby. Sites are gravel with a concrete patio. Neighbors' hookups were hidden behind bushes. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is clean and convenient. They are very rules driven, you can't check in after 7:00 pm, everything is "one way" so you have to loop around the park to get in & out. There are orange cones all over the place. Nice but very anal about everything. We would stay here again but we found it funny how anal they were. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

For a "non-resort" park this is about as good as it gets. We had a premium pull-through, which appears to be where they like to put the short-stay travelers. The site was much wider and longer than average for private parks and even had little hedges between it and the neighboring sites. Roads and sites are crushed gravel but we had a concrete patio and a nice table; all you had to bring were your own chairs. The park is just off a "ring road" around Montgomery so it is accessible to both I-65 and I-85. The office person who checked us in was quite pleasant. There are a lot of long term residents here but the park was one of the best looking we have seen; all sites were neat and tidy. One thing they insist on is a 5 mph speed limit. One thing I liked was that even though they try to keep you from driving on their grass areas they do so with lightweight plastic highway markers; if you accidentally touch one nothing will get damaged. IMO this is a lot better than parks that use large boulders or other immovable objects as markers that can damage your RV if you should graze them. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Civil Rights attractions in Montgomery ( the Memorial and the Rosa Parks museum) are ~25 minutes away.

This park is about 8 miles off I-65 but is an easy drive on 4 lane roads. The staff is great. The entry roads are paved and the rest are hard pack gravel. The sites are wide and again packed gravel. We "upgraded" to the long and wide pull-through site, only $31. Wi-Fi and cable good. Extra large patio. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is our second stay here. This is a very good park to use for an overnight or to spend a few days in the area. All sites nicely spaced, crushed gravel. A nice size dog park with a paved walking path around a small pond. Update from last report, the management has Direct Tv as their cable provider, so all sites have cable access. Verizon mi-fi worked well. We stayed here in a travel trailer. We would stay here again. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was a great park that was well kept and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Some of the spots near the front appeared to be full-time residents, but the back area near the pond (where we stayed) was more transient RV'ers coming and going. Pads were huge with an area to park the car. Nice patio with table. Wifi worked great and we had no problem getting satellite reception. Location was good with easy access to freeways, but minimal noise. We would stay here again. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a good place for an overnight night stop. Fairly good interior roads, sites all level pull-throughs with Ok space between. Sites are gravel with a small cement patio. Very little grass or trees. There is a very nice playground for the kids. A very nice dog park. Only 2 washers and dryers for the whole park. The park is well kept, even all the residents keep their lots clean. Only 4 Uni-sex bathrooms which have the toilet and shower behind the same door. The office told us that there in no more Cable TV. Internet is as expected with this many sites. There are many rules, but that is what keeping the park clean. It had a feel of a parking lot to us, but fine for an overnight stay. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a clean park with occasional distant train noise, even at night. Sites are wide and near-level. Long sites are available. Each site has a concrete pad on which sits a round, glass-topped table with no chairs. Voltage is good. Roads are wide asphalt, gravel, or dirt, in very good condition. Staff are friendly and helpful. WiFi is fairly strong; typical download speed is 30 kB/s, with great variation. Verizon LTE works well. I was told the cable will be DirecTV soon. There are strong terrestrial broadcast signals from ABC, CBS, FOX, CW, NBC, and PBS.

Laundry: 2 top-loaders ($1.50), 2 dryers ($1.50).

There are 4 private shower rooms. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was my second visit to Capital City RV Park. This time we choose a premium site at $150 per week. Full hook-up, wide and long gravel site with cement patio and metal patio table. Shrubs separated out site from our neighbors. Plenty of room for parking. Very comfortable site.

The owner led us to our site upon our arrival. As always, he was friendly and concerned that our stay was excellent. He told us that he expected to have satellite tv installed the next week. We had a good open sky for our direct tv. The location is excellent for all Montgomery sites. Easy to get to/from. The only place I'll stay in Montgomery. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Civil Rights sights: Rosa Parks Museum, Civil Rights Memorial, Selma, Dexter St. Baptist Church, Hank Williams Memorial, Hank Williams Museum, Alabama Archives.

This was our second time to stay here, the previous being last year. It is a safe and clean location not too far from downtown Montgomery. The area within the park is well maintained. Wi-Fi worked well for us. We will certainly stay again when in the area. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
