The park is clean and convenient. They are very rules driven, you can't check in after 7:00 pm, everything is "one way" so you have to loop around the park to get in & out. There are orange cones all over the place. Nice but very anal about everything. We would stay here again but we found it funny how anal they were. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

For a "non-resort" park this is about as good as it gets. We had a premium pull-through, which appears to be where they like to put the short-stay travelers. The site was much wider and longer than average for private parks and even had little hedges between it and the neighboring sites. Roads and sites are crushed gravel but we had a concrete patio and a nice table; all you had to bring were your own chairs. The park is just off a "ring road" around Montgomery so it is accessible to both I-65 and I-85. The office person who checked us in was quite pleasant. There are a lot of long term residents here but the park was one of the best looking we have seen; all sites were neat and tidy. One thing they insist on is a 5 mph speed limit. One thing I liked was that even though they try to keep you from driving on their grass areas they do so with lightweight plastic highway markers; if you accidentally touch one nothing will get damaged. IMO this is a lot better than parks that use large boulders or other immovable objects as markers that can damage your RV if you should graze them. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Civil Rights attractions in Montgomery ( the Memorial and the Rosa Parks museum) are ~25 minutes away.

This park is about 8 miles off I-65 but is an easy drive on 4 lane roads. The staff is great. The entry roads are paved and the rest are hard pack gravel. The sites are wide and again packed gravel. We "upgraded" to the long and wide pull-through site, only $31. Wi-Fi and cable good. Extra large patio. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is our second stay here. This is a very good park to use for an overnight or to spend a few days in the area. All sites nicely spaced, crushed gravel. A nice size dog park with a paved walking path around a small pond. Update from last report, the management has Direct Tv as their cable provider, so all sites have cable access. Verizon mi-fi worked well. We stayed here in a travel trailer. We would stay here again. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was a great park that was well kept and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Some of the spots near the front appeared to be full-time residents, but the back area near the pond (where we stayed) was more transient RV'ers coming and going. Pads were huge with an area to park the car. Nice patio with table. Wifi worked great and we had no problem getting satellite reception. Location was good with easy access to freeways, but minimal noise. We would stay here again. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was my second visit to Capital City RV Park. This time we choose a premium site at $150 per week. Full hook-up, wide and long gravel site with cement patio and metal patio table. Shrubs separated out site from our neighbors. Plenty of room for parking. Very comfortable site.

The owner led us to our site upon our arrival. As always, he was friendly and concerned that our stay was excellent. He told us that he expected to have satellite tv installed the next week. We had a good open sky for our direct tv. The location is excellent for all Montgomery sites. Easy to get to/from. The only place I'll stay in Montgomery. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Civil Rights sights: Rosa Parks Museum, Civil Rights Memorial, Selma, Dexter St. Baptist Church, Hank Williams Memorial, Hank Williams Museum, Alabama Archives.

This is a good place for an overnight night stop. Fairly good interior roads, sites all level pull-throughs with Ok space between. Sites are gravel with a small cement patio. Very little grass or trees. There is a very nice playground for the kids. A very nice dog park. Only 2 washers and dryers for the whole park. The park is well kept, even all the residents keep their lots clean. Only 4 Uni-sex bathrooms which have the toilet and shower behind the same door. The office told us that there in no more Cable TV. Internet is as expected with this many sites. There are many rules, but that is what keeping the park clean. It had a feel of a parking lot to us, but fine for an overnight stay. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a clean park with occasional distant train noise, even at night. Sites are wide and near-level. Long sites are available. Each site has a concrete pad on which sits a round, glass-topped table with no chairs. Voltage is good. Roads are wide asphalt, gravel, or dirt, in very good condition. Staff are friendly and helpful. WiFi is fairly strong; typical download speed is 30 kB/s, with great variation. Verizon LTE works well. I was told the cable will be DirecTV soon. There are strong terrestrial broadcast signals from ABC, CBS, FOX, CW, NBC, and PBS.

Laundry: 2 top-loaders ($1.50), 2 dryers ($1.50).

There are 4 private shower rooms. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was our second time to stay here, the previous being last year. It is a safe and clean location not too far from downtown Montgomery. The area within the park is well maintained. Wi-Fi worked well for us. We will certainly stay again when in the area. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our 2nd stay at this CG. Sites are level packed gravel, long and pleasantly landscaped. All sites are pull-through with sun setting on driver's side of rig. Pretty play area for kids, large fenced pet walk or please of area to walk on lease. It is apparent that owner and hosts take pride in the campground. Close to Montgomery proper to be used as a destination for things to do in area. Sites 1-26A are premium near the water and recommend reservations. Some long termers, but all sites are neat and clean. Will stay again when in the area. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great place to stop over or spend some time. Sites are large and level. Staff, great. Maintenance good. BUT they should be embarrassed about the condition of the interior roads. Lots of potholes that they have apparently tried, without success, to fill. I'm sure this will be fixed soon. Our 3rd stay here, we will be back in the fall. Can't go wrong here. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

This rate reflects Good Sams discount. When I checked in, I was complementing the owner on how pretty of a park he had. He stated that his campground was among Good Sams top 100. After spending four nights here, it should rank among the top 10. One of the things I haven't seen in the reviews is that all sites point north, allowing shade during the hot afternoon and evening hours. Big plus in the summer months. I won't repeat what others have said, but want to ensure the readers that this is an awesome campground. Considerable thought went into every detail. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pros: Attractive very well maintained park. Spacious parking which is great for 40' + units. Exceptional over sized dog area. Friendly check-in reception. Convenient to Montgomery activities. Pull thru with length to keep tow connected which is sometimes useful. Will return again. No Cons that warrants noting. Be advised you should abide to this parks' rules! Park has many interior driving signs, Do Not Enter, One Way etc. They are enforced. Pay attention to parking space direction signs. For example, a space on the far right area requires a far left route to navigate to so don't just drive to your parking spot., We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed only one night, but I really liked the easy in and out of these sites. They are all gravel but pretty level. The only issue is that we arrived after a large rain storm and they put us in one of the only sites that was flooded. Aside from this everything was perfect. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice and well-maintained campground and convenient for visiting the Montgomery area. Level stone sites with grassed areas between sites. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.
