We only spent 1 night at this park. We arrived after hours. The check in process for after hours was easy. On the night arrival board they listed the sites that were available and how long each site can accommodate. We took a pull thru, the hook ups were right on and close to where we needed to connect up to. The rv park is close to the interstate so it was convenient with many choices of fast food restaurants to choose from. Both ATT & Verizon had strong signals. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Office was very good to move my reservation and accommodate me when I had to adjust because of weather up north. Sites were fine. Park seemed clean. There was little high way noise, but there was an occasional train that was close. I would stay there again. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Old KOA site taken over 15 years ago. Clean but needs to be refurbished as the pads are crumbling and not to level. About 40% of sites are FT. Cable is all fuzz but good H2O pressure. Stay 5 nights while we played the RTJ golf trail. Ross Bridge & Oxmoor Valle Ridge. Close to many services. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

They are working on improving this campground. The interior roads need repair & some of the sites are being converted to concrete or Asphalt. Our site was so roomy. We had lots of space on either side. FHU, pull through, cable, WiFi all were good. Very friendly & helpful staff. 20 minutes to Birmingham. Plenty of shopping nearby. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an old KOA, has small gravel roads and sites. Leveling was a bit of an issue, but we managed. There is a section in the trees that are permanent and the transient sites all seem to be in the sun. There was the obligatory train noise, but otherwise was quiet. We would stop here again traveling through the area. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is where we have stayed long term (several months) for the last few years. We are big fans, and have watched it improve every visit. There has been a recent change in ownership/management, and renovations are in the planning stage. The staff continues to be friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are dated but immaculate. All utilities are reliable, the cable was recently updated and works well with 25 channels, and the wifi is adequate for basic needs. The Campground is centrally located with good shopping/services nearby. We will happily stay again. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Site was gravel with a concrete patio and sloped down at the nose of the rig. Water pressure was around 40PSI and 50a electric was stable. Our site width was generous. Restroom facilities were clean and maintained. The grounds and pool were clean and maintained. Wi-Fi performance was spotty so we used our hotspot mostly. Cable was available but the over-the-air channels were plentiful and strong. We would stay here again. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Roads have deteriorated over the years and are rough, sites are very poorly maintained. This is our 7th stop here since 2005. They now do Not have cable TV even though it is still advertised, but there are signs in the office. Overnight only!! We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is our 5th time at this former KOA park. It honors the Good Sam discount now. Our 1st time was in June 2011 and it has gotten better on each visit. We have stayed in 7 different sites. On this visit we were in a long term back-in site and the rate reflects their monthly charge (30 days) for a 50 amp site. It was $627, and that includes a state tax of $75. The asphalt site was in fair shape and almost level. The surfaces of the sites we have stayed in have been fair to good. Some are gravel, some are asphalt, some have concrete walks, but it has been a while since the sites have been worked on. A lot of the concrete is broken and a lot of the asphalt sites need resurfacing. There are a few sites that look unusable. Water and electric and sewer has always worked fine. There has been a lot of asphalt patching and the roads are much better. The Wi-Fi has recently improved too. We have always been able to get a good shot with our DirecTV portable dish. Verizon 4G works fairly well too. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. When we pulled in we had a problem with the site next to us and as soon as we brought it to the attention of the office, they took care of it. There are some negatives. Propane sales stopped being available while we were there. They have a large tank and we have purchased propane many times. Management told us there was a leak, it was shut down and that it would be at least 2 weeks before it was repaired. The only dog "run" is a quite small fenced area on the extreme north side. It would be nice if there was another one on the south side. The park cable is very bad. There are signs up acknowledging that and stating that it will be upgraded soon. Long term residents told us that the signs had been up since April. We will stay again. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice, clean restrooms. Laundry and all facilities were nice and clean. Pool was very nice. Roads need paving. Some lots not level. Cable not to working in some areas. Internet sketchy. Some long term campers in the back but they were friendly, well kept and nicely decorated. Not a problem there. They should invest some money in the roads and parking. Other than that, I would definitely recommend the campground. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

It rained a lot while we were there, and some sites were flooded and had to move during the night. The sewer overflowed. Not a pretty campground but convenient. The cable did not work when we were there. Internet was slow, but usable. Not the most friendliest staff. We seemed to be bothering them when we got in, and everyone in the front desk stopped to listen to our conversation with the clerk. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Birmingham South several times as an overnight stop for one night. Good location for restaurants, fuel, etc. The restrooms and shower facilities are the cleanest you will ever see in a commercial RV park. The Wi-Fi works very well. There are several full time residents here. The cable television hasn't worked the last three times we stopped here. Several of the sites are not level. The asphalt is breaking up a lot on many sites and the concrete walk in front of each site is also in bad shape on many of the sites. For $42.00 per night for 50AMP is a little more than I want to pay until they work on the cable and sites. Will probably stay a little further down the road for a lot less. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Although the website says cable exists, it is extremely poor quality. Antenna was much better reception with no "snow". The sites are very short - not really enough room for a large 5th wheel and a pickup. My main complaint was ants everywhere! We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
