8 Parks near Pell, Alabama
Jun 2012 - $40.00
Park is over priced with lots of campers living here. Run as fast as you can to another park. Would not stay here again. - younglove
Mar 2016 - $27.00
I checked in at the gas station (Chevron) where the campground registration is and was waited on right away. I was assigned site #9, which is the closest to the lake as you can get. Site was a pull thru and just long enough for my 25 foot motorhome and car trailer to fit. View was fantastic and it was very quiet as I was siting alone from the other RV's in the campground. Full hookup worked just fine even with temps hovering around low 30's. If you are a boating enthusiast, there are docks for you to tie up at. There is a landing right there along with a snack bar. Gas station is a mini-mart, there is a liquor store and other amenities on site. Grounds were patrolled by employees in a pickup truck during the day and into the evening and I would assume during the night (I didn't stay up to make sure). Had good TV reception via antenna and Verizon phone worked just fine. I stayed for 2 nights and I would come back here again. - Bobber
Jun 2015 - $27.00
The park is nice but we did not enjoy it as much as when we were here before. Previously we stayed in Oct. for a night. The view was spectacular & the park was not crowded. This time it was summer & there were a lot of 5th wheels & campers for the fishing & boating. We could barely see the lake because all the spaces at the water's edge were taken with long term guests. The view was clear in Oct. When we arrived they told us to pick any spot we wanted. We barely made it around the perimeter of the park because there was a repair shop working on boats that were blocking the way. That wasn't the case in Oct. either. This is a great place for launching a boat. If that's what you are looking for come during the summer. If it is a quiet peaceful stay with beautiful views come during the off season. - Connie's Co-Owner
Sep 2013 - $24.00
Nice lakefront. We were passing through for one night only. The place was pretty empty so we chose site 5. Tight pull through with our 45' + tow. No shade or privacy between sites. Some permanents. It isn't worth going back and risking damage to our RV electrical system. We had to run our gen all night due to faulty electric hookup. There was no one qualified to help. - YOLO13
Apr 2015 - $25.00
Very noisy with highways on both sides, and trains running all night. Verizon worked well and Satellite wouldn't have been a problem. They do have pretty good cable TV. We just stayed one night and probably wouldn't stop again. - fulltime.petes
Apr 2015 - $25.00
Pretty much nothing here but a place to park. Most are full time. Good water and elect. The problem is that is has been raining and I was all most getting out. The roads are so bad with holes we almost tipped over on the way out. Price was good but will never stay again. you better call ahead if you want to stay because they only have about 2 open sites. If it is raining stay away. - neilontheroad
Jul 2013 - $25.00
Our 2nd stay. There had been quite a bit of rain this stay & the only site available had the water connection 6 inches under water and a lot of mud/water in & around the site. Appeared to be mostly seasonal campers. Would not recommend after a rain. - LakeLucy
Apr 2016 - $30.00
This is a quiet little park. All grass but clean. Friendly owner. We were in 43 foot motor home. Nothing fancy but good to stay while traveling. Highway noise during busy travel but not bad. Feels safe. We would stay again. Going to races and she said she doesn't raise her rent for races. I would give it a higher rate if they had pads for Rv. We don't use bath houses so that doesn't matter to us. - Pam_Ricky
Nov 2011 - $15.00
Basically a field with hook-ups. Power and water pressure are good. The sites are not level and our water valve box housed a mound of fire ants. The road noise level is very high. We were the only transient guests this particular day and shared the campground with a handful of very run-down full time trailers. Price reflects PA discount. - Full-Time Roamers
Sep 2008 - $15.00
This is a new campground and the owner's are just getting the campground running. There are about 15 level sites that are on grass with some gravel. The roads are gravel. Access is right off the highway. This is a basic place to stay with W/E/S but no bathrooms or shower house. Our rate was using Passport America. We stayed here so we could visit the Talladega Race Museum and track. - Traveller101
May 2016 - $28.00
On lake shore. Site A7 (I think - it backed up to power line) $30/night. Sit was spacious, partially shaded. Barely able to get level, but finally did. Power line made great dog walk. Trails in woods also good dog walking.
Park is clean and attractive. Be sure you talk to them if you have a big rig. It would be a challenge to get into some areas.
Most sites in the park are owned and have park models and trailers semi-permanently installed. Limited number of rental sites.
No cable, no WIFI, adequate OTA reception, good AT&T.
Pretty remote from shopping. Heavy train activity all night. No road noise at all. Nice pool, small beach on the lake. Dated but clean showers; small laundry looked OK but we didn't use it.
Roads are mostly gravel and fairly narrow with some ruts. It looks like the drainage is being worked on and is overdue. - bobcovey
Mar 2012 - $25.00
Very nice people running the park. Fantastic lake on site, good fishing no license required. Pull through sites need better access, roads a little narrow and rutted out due to heavy rains in area. We will stay there again. - Hardcorps628
Oct 2011 - $17.00
Very nice park. People are extremely friendly. They did everything to make us feel comfortable. Waterfront sites are wonderful. - uschi
Oct 2014 - $100.00
About this park, the only reason we were there was to attend the fall NASCAR race at Talladega Speedway. As NASCAR camping goes it is actually a 8/10. Wifi or cable would make it a 9/10. It is quiet with friendly neighbors and owners. It is close enough to walk, bike or ride the golf cart shuttle service. But located far enough away to escape the parties and drama associated with tailgate-party style camping. If this were anything but a race weekend for us, this place would barely rate the 6/10 that I gave it. It did have a safe level site with reliable electric and good full hook-ups. Maybe OK for a one night stop. Excellent location and park for our race camping ! - CactusCrew
Oct 2014 - $40.00
We stayed here for the October race, and to visit relatives near by. The campground is not a "Resort by any means of the imagination. That being said, it is clean, there are a couple of full-timers (Staff) living there. The Owner and staff are VERY friendly, and helpful. Again it's not a resort, but it has the basics, (Water, Electric & Sewer). the staff does its best to keep the fire-ants under control, (all you have to do is contact them). as well as keeping things peaceful. We will return and stay there again next year. - md_procouple
May 2014 - $45.00
This is about as close to "trailer trash" as you are going to find. Don't waste your time or money. 30 amp sites are $35 and 50 amp sites are $45 and what you get is nothing! Half of this "park?" is mud. All grass with gravel road. Everything in here is old including the few full timers and their "rigs?". - rgeisel
May 2016 - $15.00
No shade, lots of grass/weeds, no tables. No WiFi or cable. Some digital over the air channels. DirecTV came in good. Sprint coverage poor. Good location to Speedway. Owner/manager has off leash dogs that run the place. She does not have voice control over them so take your chances that they do not conflict with your dogs. - beach89bum
Feb 2012 - $30.00
This place needs a lot of TLC. It's hard to find at night: signage is difficult to see. The middle RV sites are all badly hollowed into the grass, so after a rain they were pretty wet. Fortunately, the only gravel/level site (#21) was open. Many of the electric boxes appeared to be damaged or had covers missing. But it's quiet (except for the neighborhood dogs who bark at any movement, and seem to run loose at times) and the shower was nice enough (and clean). It IS close to the Talladega track (we saw closer RV Parks, but guess they are only open for race weekends?) Wi-Fi was quirky: didn't work in the evening, but worked the following morning. - Deb344
Oct 2011 - $15.00
Nice small park with friendly owners that make the park worth staying at. Pet friendly. Easy access and egress about 5 miles south of the interstate. Real quiet. Most sites are level with grass and/or gravel combination. Wi-Fi was none existence for us. Would be rated an 8 if Wi-Fi had worked. We would return to this park. - Stan & Marsha
Oct 2015 - $30.00
Nice park. Small and bathrooms were easily accessible. There were only three stalls and there were lines each morning waiting for showers. Bathrooms are inside with the showers but there are extra bathrooms near the fun park.
Fun park was on the expensive side. We hoped that more things were included, like the pumpkin painting and s'mores roasting, but they were all extra costs.
Overall it was a nice park, but costly.
Our site was on a slight slant. - HeFFeR718
Sep 2013 - $30.00
No other reason to stay here other than for a night or two to see the caverns. Not much to the RV park. Extremely small. Unlevel crushed stone pads and odd layout. We stayed in site #2, but sites 1, 2, and 3 are all in a row so if you had someone staying in any of the other sites you would be unable to pull thru. The playground badly needs updating. Mature trees were a plus, but no fire pits. Bathrooms/showers worked, but lots of spider webs in them. Cavern tour is nice, but the rest of the "attractions" are overpriced and need maintenance. This is an alcohol free park. - Cap'n G
Jan 2013 - $13.00
“Interesting” doesn't even come close to describing this park. In the 70s and 80s, we could easily see this being a “destination” park. Now it has all the charm of a large “outdated” playground. During our stay, we were the only rig, other than a “permanent”. Restrooms are ¾ style bathrooms. Laundry facilities are a single washer and dryer set up in the community area kitchen. Cost is $1.75 per unit. Sites are small and very uneven. Maintenance seems to be a major problem in both the “amusement park” and campground. Internet was free and slow when you got a connection. As it is an unsecured connection, it is obvious the neighbors take full advantage of it. Television is antenna or satellite. Had no issues with cell phone service. Rate shown is Passport America weekly rate divided by 7. Doubt we will stay here again. - Full-Timer RV'er
