We found this lovely ACE campground by accident and it was so nice, we decided to stay 2 nights instead of one. It has just reopened after a major electrical upgrade. Check-in staff was super friendly and accommodating. We were able to select our own site from the ones available and had a hard time choosing as all sites looked inviting. Plenty of space and privacy if desired in the different loops surrounding the creeks and lakefront. Each loop has its own restroom station which includes a washer and dryer! That is a rarity and it was spotless. Plenty of room for family recreation and just watching the fishermen meandering along the riverfront in their boats was relaxing entertainment. We had no problems at this time with ants or odors from the papermill. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Bluff Creek in a Motorhome.Undo

We finally found a USACE park that we don't like. Oh my, the ANTS!!! Woke up the first morning and they were all over the camper. After spending most of the morning cleaning, we put out ant poison. They still found a way to get on the camper (tree limbs, grass twigs, etc). On top of that, the grass had twigs that were literally knee high. I don't know why they didn't cut the grass for a holiday weekend. I suppose that is why the park was not full. Although it is right next to the paper mill, we did not hear or smell it all weekend. Still, with the uncut grass and the ants, the weekend was not as pleasant as it could have been. If you do visit without plenty of ant poison, don't say you weren't warned!!! We camped at Bluff Creek in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Bluff Creek was a gem of a find. The campground was quiet and clean. There was a nice mix of tent, trailer, and larger RVs. During the quiet evenings, a lot of campers were riding bicycles on the paved roads; kids could play in the large commons area. The only down side of the area: the campground is near the Meade paper plant, and several times the air smelled of paper mill odors. We arrived on Friday, and by Saturday morning, the smell was gone. The campground has boat ramps and fish cleaning tables. We camped at Bluff Creek in a Travel Trailer.Undo
