We stayed here last minute to escape Hurricane Irma. The people were great. It was very clean. Lots were spacious with lots of shade. We had a beautiful view of the water and the sunset. The only reason we didn't give it a "10" is the ants. We read before about the need to spray but probably didn't spray enough. The ants are everywhere. Spray all things touching the ground & the outside of your camper! Get Home Defense & Comet & cover the outside of your RV as soon as you arrive! We camped at Meaher State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for an overnight. Glad we did. It was very clean and had level sites. Paved roads throughout. Although we didn't get to fish, it looked like a great place to. Later we heard from a local that there were alligators there. Didn't see any, but watch yourself and pets. When we are back in the area, we'll stay here again. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is the third time we have visited this well maintained State Park, and the staff was friendly and helpful at check in. Interior roads are paved and big rig access was good. Our site was very spacious, plenty of space for our towed, not a lot of privacy between sites, pine trees for shade, picnic table and barbecue. Our pad was a level paved back in, fairly quiet but there was some road noise from the I-10, but it was tolerable. We had a lovely view of the water and the fishing pier overlooking Ducker Bay. The bathrooms are modern, spacious and clean and the laundries are clean and well equipped. There is no security gate and anyone can and does walk, bike and jog through the park. Pet friendly with plenty of places to walk your dog around the park. Wifi and AT&T were fine. We would stay here again. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Food stores, wonderful restaurants and sightseeing are close by.

Overall Rating:

Stayed one night on trip west and stayed again on return. Very neat clean park east of Mobile. Quiet park, despite a little low level traffic noise from US 98 and distant I-10. Most sites are shaded. Lower number sites are pretty much full sun. Sites are asphalt and level. Full hookups. Vehicle washing is permitted. Bathhouse is like new. Very clean. Friendly staff. The park is well laid out. There is a neat boardwalk trail out into Ducker Bay and short trails in a wooded area. Fishing is available from a dock or boat. There is a small beach, but we saw gators, so maybe not a good thing. Two cabins and tent area. Close to Mobile and a great USS Alabama park with a submarine and an aircraft museum. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go out on the fishing dock to watch the sunset. Beautiful. Walk the boardwalk trail and hike the wooded trails. A must see is the USS Alabama display area about 5 miles west on 98. Take at least the deck tour. 2 others available. Also, tour the USS Drum submarine and the aircraft museum. Good places to eat seafood close to the park. Shopping mall about 2 miles east. Enjoy this park.

This is a beautiful state park conveniently located right off of I-10, but the road noise from I-10 is not at all bothersome. The water front sites have beautiful sunset views! The sites are well spaced so you don't feel crowded by a neighbor. Having sewer hookups was a plus!

We read reviews earlier about ants so we sprayed ant killer when we arrived and did not have any problems with ants. The staff is friendly and check-in was quick and easy. Verizon worked well here. We would stay here again if we are ever in the Mobile area again. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Would rate service higher, but the only service was the check in, and when we asked if we could change sites were told it was full and of course it has not filled until check out. Otherwise clean, good cellphone reception as there is no WIFI. Therefore a little pricey. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Motorhome.

.We chose to stay here both for location and the fact that it was a state park and not an RV resort. First the positives Great location Pretty park Well maintained Right on the bay with great views Friendly staff Liked the sewer hook ups at the site GREAT sunset views And the negatives No fire rings Showers were awful with no real hot water and a push button system to get the shower to run with getting a few minutes with each push of the button. Not a way to shower Poor water pressure at the camp sites. Not much privacy at the sites with it all being open and fairly close together sites Having said all this I most likely would stay here again if in the area We did not have any problems with ants but we did use borax around the coach momdoc. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Motorhome.

Week stay with little if any warm water!!! Nice laundry, reasonable too. Campground needs improvements with a) internet signal b) a gate that locks after7:00. It is apparent to day users that there isn't security, that is inexcusable. Staff was super nice and the maintenance guy was always happy and present and this helped when you got out of the cold shower and saw a smiling face even though you were very chilly! Gorgeous setting, noisy from traffic but tolerable. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Very nice RV Park. Not far from either Mobile, Daphne, or Spanish Fort, Alabama. Right down the road from the USS Alabama, and all the fresh seafood that you would care to eat.

There is one drawback at this park. I had read the comments concerning them, however I did not take heed. The dreaded ANTS. Do not fail to bring ant KILLER!!!

Other than those critters, the park was nice, clean, and quiet. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Motorhome.

We've traveled from Phoenix, AZ for the past 8 days and this was the most expensive campground. It also had the best view and nice tall pines, so it was worth the few extra dollars. No internet, but level site pads for pull-throughs. Full hook-ups made it easy to set up. Would recommend. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Motorhome.

Rainy weekend but site drained well with no standing water. Wifi was weak, but Verizon 4G was four bars so hotspot worked well. Staff was friendly and inviting. Bathroom was clean when we arrived. No fire rings, but a grill was mounted in each site. Picnic tables well built and functional. Sits right on the bay with no highway noise from I-10. HD TV received many channels by air; no cable TV available. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects 15% senior discount given except Sat. Full hookups, free wifi. Easy on and off I-10. Some noise from Mobile Bay Causeway truck traffic, yet mostly quiet. Site #6 offered clear view for satellite signal. No sugar ants this stay because it was so cold. Fishing pier. Good birding. Security gate currently not working. Standup grills.
