If you have children, this place is perfect. If you want a nice quiet time, it isnt for you. By 9:30 am, 5 school buses were here for a field trip. Small clean campground. Showed up at 5:20pm, the open sign was on, but no one was there. Our site, #15, had only 20amp service, which meant we could not run the air conditioning in the Alabama heat. No other site could accommodate the length of our motorhome. If you have laundry to do, there is only one washer and one dryer. Make sure you have change. The change machine does not work. Bring earplugs and have a fan if you sleep past 8am, because 150 kids is loud. - StephanieBekker

This is a small campground, but very nice. A little old. There are things for kids to do. There is a very nice pavilion for your use and a little stream where the kids love to play in the water. They also have a cave and splash park. Games and rides a little gift shop and snack shop. - Goodlooking70

Nice park. Small and bathrooms were easily accessible. There were only three stalls and there were lines each morning waiting for showers. Bathrooms are inside with the showers but there are extra bathrooms near the fun park.
Fun park was on the expensive side. We hoped that more things were included, like the pumpkin painting and s'mores roasting, but they were all extra costs.
Overall it was a nice park, but costly.
Our site was on a slight slant. - HeFFeR718

This park is located on Mitchell Lake. We camped here hoping to catch fish. The campground was very noisy. We heard boat traffic all night long both nights we were there. The ranger was very nice and friendly. There were no fire rings, grills or tables at the sites. - A White

We had a delightful four night stay at this very large campground (over 500 sites) in April 2018. Our site did require leveling on blocks but was long enough for our 27 foot trailer and tow vehicle. Sites appear to be undergoing renovation and some of the renovated sites on the water had concrete surfaces. Ours was asphalt in reasonably good shape. The lake is beautiful. There were few campers during the week but the park filled up on the weekend. We had no problems with noise even on the weekend. This is a good park for overnight or stays of a week or more. Waterfront sites require a 7 day stay. Two night minimum stay for weekends on all sites and 3 night minimum for holiday weekends. - Florida 55

This is a huge park , a little off the beaten path but beautiful. We stayed in the new luxury section that has 55 spots, all 50 amps, concrete pads, sewer and right on the water. Sites are large with plenty of room to maneuver our 45 ft. with towed. The only problem we ran into was if you make reservations for one of these sites in advance you must stay 7 nights, if you just walk-in you can stay for only 1-2 nights if you like. This is a very popular weekend park during the season so it stays busy and can be a little noisy with boats and children at times. There are horse trails , fishing, lake swimming and boat launch facilities and it is excellently maintained with gated entrance and plenty of security. The closest restaurants are in Alexander City which is about 5 miles as is the closest Walmart. There is a Dollar General store about a mile from the park which is great for cokes, snacks, ice, etc. Will definitely stay again. - bg3putts

This is a huge park is a beautiful location. It is well kept and has plenty of scenic hiking, walking, biking opportunities. I would imagine in the summer months, the lake is hoppin' with boats and skiers, and jet skis and all manner of lake recreation. We were there in early spring, running the heat in the mornings, taking walks, and doing a little fishing from the piers. Our site, and most of the sites we observed, was very narrow, so much so that we couldn't stretch out our rug in front of our door. It was adequate, though. Most sites had either a fire ring or a pedestal BBQ grill. We spotted just a handful of sites that had both. The waterfront sites were the most desirable, but our camp information sheet said that those are reserved for campers staying at least a week. The negative here, to me, is the lack of privacy or view. Although it's all on the lake, most of the sites are going to be looking at other RVs instead of the water. If a view is important to you, you're probably going to have to get one of the premium sites on the water at a much higher price. The park overall was not crowded at all when we visited in early March, but we happened to be in a section that had quite a few RVs. The water view was on the backside of our RV, with other RVs just outside our front door. I can imagine during the busy summer months it would be similar. You'll be happiest here if you use your RV for the necessities of life and are away from your site doing fun things most of the time, especially boating and such. You're probably not going to want to lounge under your awning to enjoy the view of the back of your neighbor's RV. There are multiple places to enjoy beautiful views, though. It just takes a little walking or riding to see them. That being said, everything else about the park is GREAT. Just don't go in expecting wonderful views or privacy from every site, and you'll be fine. We plan to go back with our horse and try some of the horse trails. - sevencampers
Aug 2017 - $40.00
Small dirt sites. Not anything close to level. Both 30 and 50 amp power, but a little out dated and was off for half the day Sunday. No caps on sewer, so kinda stinks in different areas of park. Bath house very dated. There is a pool, but it also is 40 plus years old. No wifi, and cell phone kinda works. - Sweettea1968

Wow! Value was ok, and the campground is pretty clean, but don't disagree with the manager. Not friendly. Rude. Will not return. - WeRV2008

Pictures on web site are very deceiving. Crowded with mostly permanent residents. Dirt sites that are not level. We could not fit in the site they assured we would fit into so we had to leave. - PositiveOutlook
