Sites are all spacious with some shade, but are grass with some dirt so can get pretty messy in heavy rain. Roads are very wide, access to the sites is easy. All are backin. Part of park is only 30 amp.

The park is a mix of houses, longterm leased lots and rv sites. The facilities and the park are spotless. There are activites going on every day at the clubhouse and visitors are encouraged to join in. Be sure to go to happy hour.

Very large fields adjacent to the developed area makes ideal dog walking but folks are a little casual about cleaning up.

No WIFI or cable, but AT&T data worked fine and OTA reception was good. We look forward to returning for a longer visit. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Motorhome.

Large grassy sites, ours was level. Large Clubhouse with plenty of activities. As an Escapees park, there are plenty of seasonal and permanent residents, but they are very friendly and welcoming, and they want you to be a part of their activities. We were always invited to join them for meals, and never ate alone. This was our second stay, and we will stay again. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate reflects the SKP member monthly rate, plus electric. This is the first park we have ever rated a 10. This was our first time to this park and we have already booked for next year. Everyone in this park was so welcoming and there are many, many activities/dinners planned. We felt like family as soon as we arrived. The sites are very spacious and level. The sites are grassy and there were lots of ants around, but I believe this is normal for this area. Good open spaces for satellite reception. Utilities worked very well. Did not use the Tengo WIFI as we have our own. The only thing we could think would be an improvement would be the sites being paved as we were constantly tracking into the camper. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate reflects a weekly stay. Rainbow Plantation is an Escapees park. As such you must be an Escapees member to stay here. The sites are spacious and easy to back into. The office staff were friendly and helpful. The area was nice. The laundry facilities were clean, inexpensive, and worked well. There were many permanent residents and long-term guests, but they kept their sites neat. Community meals were held several times per week, as well as other activities. There was a DVD lending library. We were in the minority being below the retirement age. Most guests were diligent about cleaning up after their dogs, but not all were. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rainbow Plantation is an Escapee Park. The sites are all back-in on level grass or sand and very spacious. Roads are paved and there is plenty of room to navigate into sites. Utilities work well although only half of the 97 sites offer 50 amp elec. No cable TV is offered and internet is thru Tengonet. I found the internet to be useless. I was not able to get a signal in the trailer. I did get a good signal from Dish Network. As with all Escapee parks, there is plenty to do with many planned activities and functions. This is my third visit to Rainbow Plantation, but I doubt I will return due to the sandy/no grass sites. For my future visits to Lower Alabama I'll look for campgrounds with better sites. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Our second stay here. A great location between Mobil and the Gulf Coast.

A nice RV community, Escapees owned and ran. Very friendly people, lots of organized events and activities. A nice clubhouse with a book exchange, pool and very nice laundry.

There are two shower rooms in the registration building.

Large full hook up spots, both 30 and 50. Shaded and open available.

They also have a fenced dog run.

Plenty of walking opportunities on the grounds. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $20.00

Rate reflects Escapee membership. This is a typical Escapee park, management is shaky at best but there seems to be a lot of it. This is a park with a mixture of stick houses and RV's. Park is kept clean by the workers; they have a very nice little memorial garden to Escapees who have passed on. Events are planned regularly and the club house is very nice. Most people here are long term residents. They do have both a storage area as well as a 'dry camp' area. Utilities work well and are steady. Water pressure is good. Washer room appeared clean. New reservation system seems to continue to elude office staff. You are not "guaranteed" a specific site, but if you want to extend your visit, you may be moved to another spot because someone has your site reserved. That sounds pretty site specific for some. Spaces are grass and dirt. Lots of shade trees. No train noise, some road noise but not at all disturbing. Speed limit in the park is a suggestion only, most residents completely ignore it and speeds can reach dangerous levels if you happen to be out walking and not paying very close attention. There are both the ERPU leased lots here as well as "yearly leased" lots which are leased at a significantly different rate than the ERPU's. There was one space in the RV section with 2 RV's on it which we found odd. Most of the resident lots are kept clean and neat. Lot of things to see and do within the area. 30 min from Gulf Shores, Mobile, and only about 45 minutes to the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Gulf shores, Dauphin Island, Battleship Alabama, Pensacola Naval Air Museum all good places to visit in area within about 30 minutes. Also, visit the Holmes Medical Museum in Foley and the Baldwin County Historical Museum in Elberta AL. Nice southern buffet luncheon served at The Gift Horse in Foley...wonderful building.

Rainbow Plantation is an Escapees Park. The rate reflects the membership discount and the weekly rate. The park is very friendly. All utilities operate as expected and are well placed, although the sewer in at the rear of the site, so a long sewer line is needed. Sites are on grass and are relatively level. The park offers many planned activities. Wifi is offered thru Tangonet. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A pleasant Escapees park at a low nightly rate for five nights. FHU on dirt and grass under an oak tree that dropped acorns on the roof at night. No cable, but good OTA and good Verizon cell/MiFi coverage. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Motorhome.

The people make this Escapee member park great. The sites are very large and good interior roads. Nice club house, but pool was not open yet. They offer weekly optional activities and meals. The park could greatly benefit from installing gravel or paved parking and patio pads, they are primarily sand and some grass. Would also be nice to have picnic tables. The park is remote from the Gulf area beaches and activities, with Foley being the closest town. Stayed here the month of January. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Motorhome.

Pros: huge lots, live oak trees @ every site, management pretty much lets you do whatever, canopies, dog pens OK, in country yet close to a Dollar General & convenience stores.

Cons: VERY cliquey, office staff not well informed in how to operate computer software, outside staff not at all friendly.

Gun shots ALL AROUND campground some automatic & very large caliber (very unnerving since you don't know which direction the person is shooting in). Crop dusters flying (buzzing) from daylight to dark. Kinda neat at first but gets real old listening to it. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Outlet mall Foley. Good Walmart in Fair Hope.

Bring a large mat since sand and grass do track pretty badly.

WOW, this campground is a dream. The sites are wide and long. We were joking that we expected someone to come between us and our neighbor- but no. We had a shaded site. The sites are on grass so I could see after a heavy rain that there would be puddles. The roads are paved and wide so easy in. They only have back in sites, but no problem backing in since the sites are so wide and long. So many activities and there is a community feel here. At the socials, they ask if there are new people, if people are leaving. You get greeted by so many people saying hello and welcome. The folks leaving get a fond farewell. The location is very countryside. But, its not far from the Gulf Shore, Fairhope and Foley (there is this huge boardwalk there). Good cellphone connection. No cable, but we got all the major networks and some more on the antennae. The wi-fi was OK and you have to pay. But we find that so in most campgrounds. Wi-FI is slow. Unless you are seasonal and get an individual box- it will be slow in most places. Everyone is so friendly. People just stopping by to chat. We had these people who invited us to breakfast before knowing our names. So nice. There is a separate section of private homes that are part of the campground. But they aren't park homes, they are regular houses. Some of the properties have motor homes and trailers that are under "barns" are they call them. But, they are decorated. All the properties are well kept. The only draw back was that the pool isn't open until May. Its too cold there in the winter to open it. But, when we got there it was warm enough, but that's when they open the pool. Also, no tables at the sites. I think if they had tables, I'd give this place a 10. The rate reflects Escapees (we had a 50 amp site so its $3 extra. By the way, they will be converting all the sites to 50 AMP so I guess that $18 for Escapees will be the rate for all sites). If in the area, I'd come back. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice park with huge shady lots. There are a lot of activities and people are friendly. The laundry is wonderful at 75 cents for washer and dryer with a large table in the middle for folding and push carts to transport the clothes. We had an exceptionally heavy rain and for a while there were large puddles but they were gone by the next day. The Tengo internet is useless. We paid $15 for the week and it was good the first day, not so good the second and third and then disappeared off our menu completely after that. We used our hot spot and should have just saved our money but we thought it would be faster. We are Escapees members and that is reflected in our rate of $17. We stayed here for a week and would gladly come back again. It's not a far drive in different directions to find shopping and restaurants. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Park in a Motorhome.
