If you have children, this place is perfect. If you want a nice quiet time, it isnt for you. By 9:30 am, 5 school buses were here for a field trip. Small clean campground. Showed up at 5:20pm, the open sign was on, but no one was there. Our site, #15, had only 20amp service, which meant we could not run the air conditioning in the Alabama heat. No other site could accommodate the length of our motorhome. If you have laundry to do, there is only one washer and one dryer. Make sure you have change. The change machine does not work. Bring earplugs and have a fan if you sleep past 8am, because 150 kids is loud. - StephanieBekker

This is a small campground, but very nice. A little old. There are things for kids to do. There is a very nice pavilion for your use and a little stream where the kids love to play in the water. They also have a cave and splash park. Games and rides a little gift shop and snack shop. - Goodlooking70

Nice park. Small and bathrooms were easily accessible. There were only three stalls and there were lines each morning waiting for showers. Bathrooms are inside with the showers but there are extra bathrooms near the fun park.
Fun park was on the expensive side. We hoped that more things were included, like the pumpkin painting and s'mores roasting, but they were all extra costs.
Overall it was a nice park, but costly.
Our site was on a slight slant. - HeFFeR718

Small dirt sites. Not anything close to level. Both 30 and 50 amp power, but a little out dated and was off for half the day Sunday. No caps on sewer, so kinda stinks in different areas of park. Bath house very dated. There is a pool, but it also is 40 plus years old. No wifi, and cell phone kinda works. - Sweettea1968

Wow! Value was ok, and the campground is pretty clean, but don't disagree with the manager. Not friendly. Rude. Will not return. - WeRV2008

Pictures on web site are very deceiving. Crowded with mostly permanent residents. Dirt sites that are not level. We could not fit in the site they assured we would fit into so we had to leave. - PositiveOutlook

The people here are wonderful to work with. We had a great time! The beach is well maintained and the fact that we could leave our boat in the water was nice. The Wi-Fi is only available if you sign up for it through a local company but that was okay, we came to camp, not be on the devices. The sites are all wired for this company to provide internet, phone and cable which is great for long term guests. At this park you can stay as long as you like and the rates start at $200 a month. We are going to stay! - WeRV2008

Before arriving was somewhat concerned since this park does not take reservations except during Talladega. Fortunately they had sites when we arrived late afternoon on a Saturday. Staff showed us a drawn map and said we could pick any site that was not hi-lited. We picked site 1 and were then told they were not sure if it was empty or not but we could drive down to it and if it was park. If not, come back to office and pick another. So we dropped our tow, got in the car and drove to site 1 which was obviously occupied and had been for sometime. Go back to office to be told "oops, that's the owner's landscaper's site and he has been there for 5 years!". Were told to pick another site from map. We chose to look out the office/gas station window across the parking lot and pointed to the first open site we saw. The site was the only one with a little gravel left and no mud puddles. Granted it was right on the main drag and lots of road noise but upon further investigation of park, it was probably the best choice since it was obvious there are lots of long timers and it is more congested and tighter the closer you get to the lake. Our view was of the boat and RV storage next door but we at least had a little more space for our 37 ft motorhome and tow car. The site was pretty dirty when we parked. Lots of cigarette butts everywhere and no picnic table. We had to blow off the concrete patio. Site was level. Will probably try another campground if ever in the area again. - Highway Honu

Planned a 1 night stay, checked in and was told to park at space 19. No one else was any where around us. Got up and was totally blocked in by trucks and boat trailers. No way to get out. Management said the only thing they could do was to tow them. I went to those in charge of the fishing tournament and they unhitched a trailer and pushed it out of the way so we could leave. This was done before management could even get to our site. Not pleased with how they did not care. Did not get to enjoy our time there. Very disappointed. - Cruise42
Mar 2017 - $31.00
This is a large park (200+ sites) and they do not take reservations unless there is a race in Talladega. You check in at the gas station (Chevron) which has a well stocked convenience store. The roads are easy to navigate in and out. We stayed March 6-13, 2017. We were in site #4 which is right next to the parking lot for the boat ramp so there was a little car noise but not bad. The site was gravel and very level. It was just long enough for our 37-foot class A, tow-dolly and parking the car. There is a picnic table and small cement patio. Hooks up were all easy to get to and use, water pressure was good. The lake views are pretty and the park is quiet. WiFi was fair and our Verizon signal was good. We paid $30.69 a night with our Good Sam Discount. - BarrettsHappyTrails

This park is located on Mitchell Lake. We camped here hoping to catch fish. The campground was very noisy. We heard boat traffic all night long both nights we were there. The ranger was very nice and friendly. There were no fire rings, grills or tables at the sites. - A White
