If you have children, this place is perfect. If you want a nice quiet time, it isnt for you. By 9:30 am, 5 school buses were here for a field trip. Small clean campground. Showed up at 5:20pm, the open sign was on, but no one was there. Our site, #15, had only 20amp service, which meant we could not run the air conditioning in the Alabama heat. No other site could accommodate the length of our motorhome. If you have laundry to do, there is only one washer and one dryer. Make sure you have change. The change machine does not work. Bring earplugs and have a fan if you sleep past 8am, because 150 kids is loud. - StephanieBekker

This is a small campground, but very nice. A little old. There are things for kids to do. There is a very nice pavilion for your use and a little stream where the kids love to play in the water. They also have a cave and splash park. Games and rides a little gift shop and snack shop. - Goodlooking70

Nice park. Small and bathrooms were easily accessible. There were only three stalls and there were lines each morning waiting for showers. Bathrooms are inside with the showers but there are extra bathrooms near the fun park.
Fun park was on the expensive side. We hoped that more things were included, like the pumpkin painting and s'mores roasting, but they were all extra costs.
Overall it was a nice park, but costly.
Our site was on a slight slant. - HeFFeR718
Aug 2017 - $40.00
Small dirt sites. Not anything close to level. Both 30 and 50 amp power, but a little out dated and was off for half the day Sunday. No caps on sewer, so kinda stinks in different areas of park. Bath house very dated. There is a pool, but it also is 40 plus years old. No wifi, and cell phone kinda works. - Sweettea1968
May 2017 - $35.00
Wow! Value was ok, and the campground is pretty clean, but don't disagree with the manager. Not friendly. Rude. Will not return. - WeRV2008
Apr 2017 - $30.00
Pictures on web site are very deceiving. Crowded with mostly permanent residents. Dirt sites that are not level. We could not fit in the site they assured we would fit into so we had to leave. - PositiveOutlook
Jan 2018 - $35.00
They have stopped doing nightly spots, but if you want a spot for a month or more you can't ask for a better spot. - WeRV2008
Jul 2017 - $35.00
The people here are wonderful to work with. We had a great time! The beach is well maintained and the fact that we could leave our boat in the water was nice. The Wi-Fi is only available if you sign up for it through a local company but that was okay, we came to camp, not be on the devices. The sites are all wired for this company to provide internet, phone and cable which is great for long term guests. At this park you can stay as long as you like and the rates start at $200 a month. We are going to stay! - WeRV2008
Jun 2016 - $25.00
Waterfront sites, plenty of piers and shade. Friendly people, can be crowded at times. - General Lee Campground
Apr 2018 - $45.00
Wifi was one of the better ones. Nice level sight. A quiet camp. Roads were easy to get around on. Laundry was the most expensive ever at $3.50 a load in brand new machines. Dryer $1.00 for 16 minutes. This campground is 18 miles from the speedway - no traffic using the back way but we went early. The Dega Brewhouse was nice place to have a drink in Talladega. A beautiful view above all of the lake. - Aussie Chums
Apr 2018 - $31.00
We stopped here on the way home from a trip. Beautiful lake view. Super friendly staff and grounds were clean. There are a lot of full time residents in their RV's here but all so friendly and helpful. Lots of pull through sites...lake view sites are back in. Good Sam discount made it a good value. I would stay here again. - ScoobyD

Our second visit. We wanted to visit the Talladega Speedway and this is the only full-time park we were aware of. Most of the 'Resort' is filled with long-term residents. Trailers are in various states of repair/disrepair and surrounded by all the residents' belongings that would not fit in or under the units. The biggest draw is the lake and fishing, it appears. The restrooms inside the park have an unacceptable odor and many of the short-term sites are near those restrooms. Many of the other restrooms (in the office building) have doors that don't lock. In the laundry room (also in that building), only one or two of the washers and dryers are in working order. The staff is helpful - after they have finished checking in all the boaters or answering questions of the long-term residents. We were told to go pick out our site (they gave a map and pointed out the sites we could pick from) and call when we had made our selection. The park is apparently under new ownership and we got the impression from conversations that attempts may be underway to reduce the long-term population by changing the monthly payment policy. We would not return. - grandma0942

This park is located on Mitchell Lake. We camped here hoping to catch fish. The campground was very noisy. We heard boat traffic all night long both nights we were there. The ranger was very nice and friendly. There were no fire rings, grills or tables at the sites. - A White
