Nice overnight stop about 3 1/2 miles off I10. An older campground with limited amenities no cable, wifi not working but pretty rural setting well kept and clean. A few older full time campers but neatly kept. Water, sewer, and good electric. Would stay here again. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Entrance to the Park was down a long single lane road. The setting looked very peaceful and comfortable. My first thought, based on previous reviews was one of concern. I thought it would be more of a farm-like appearance, but not so. Granted there is many droppings of goose poop, but it was not overwhelming. Did not notice much of any odor. Sites are grass and gravel, FHUs with 30 and 50 amp service. We just had two days of heavy rain but all sites were clean and dry. Check in was easy; good satellite and cell service. We were there for just one night. I-10 was 30 minutes away. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice, quiet park, with easy in and out. Friendly owners, easy check-in. We only stayed 1 night on our way through the area. We paid $21.80 after tax, with Passport America. Bathrooms/showers were not fancy but clean enough. Though we didn't use the laundry room, it was clean and spacious. We chose a back-in site with lots of shade, as it was hot and humid. Our site was dirt with a little grass. We used blocks to level easily. The grounds are well kept with a nice pond. We enjoyed watching the geese and ducks with their babies. Other reviews mention smells, we did smell the waterfowl and there were a few chickens behind us near the maintenance shed, but it wasn't bothersome. Only noise was Mr. Rooster, he let us know when to wake up:) But it wasn't a problem. We would stay here again. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Coming off I-10, be sure to take the first road in with the sign (on the right), which is the entrance. GPS tried to take us in the 2nd road but the 2nd road is the exit.

Cash or check only but that's fine too. Stayed by duck pond, quite entertaining. Would stay here again if ever in the area. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park has a LOT of fowl, consequently a lot of poop. To top that off, there are a LOT of leaves that have fallen and it smells kind of moldy. It had been raining and it was wet, there are few spaces that have any kind of gravel so it was a muddy, poppy, stinky mess. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

A rural, quiet setting with a pond where geese, goslings, and ducks roam/swim. Several pull-thru sites. Most sites are grass but some are gravel. Office was pleasant but it isn't the cleanest. Our hunting dog had a huge area to run. Good place for an overnight. One review commented about a smell. We believe it is the humidity and the warm winter they are having in 2017. No cable even though there is a connection there. We had several local stations available. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is quite, clean, and the staff is friendly. Contrary to the advertisement, there was no operational wifi. Passwords did not work and the staff said they were having problems and that WE should contact their carrier. Also, neither we or our neighbors had success connecting to their "cable TV". We checked 5 sites with no luck. In short it's a nice campground with no technical amenities. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very quiet old park. I've never seen only grass on the pads. That was different. It made it a little more difficult to see exactly where you were supposed to be with a 40' rig coming in at night. A little off the beaten path. The cable was excellent and so was the park attendant. I would stay here again as a pass through. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We were in south Alabama to go to Bellingrath Gardens' Christmas light show. We had reservations at another RV Park, but when we got there, we had no spot, the office was closed and no one returned our call. I called the number for Payne's. They answered and told us to come right over. It's not fancy, but after visiting several places all the way to Dauphin Island, we decided this was the best place for what we were here to do. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bellingrath Gardens is a must see and is about 10-15 minutes down the road.

Dauphin Island is about 40 minutes away if you like the beach. There's a fort and a estuarium there, also.

Mobile is very close by.

Very nice, quiet, friendly no-frills campground. Owners very nice and grounds were clean and freshly mowed. Did not give a 10 only because the sites and roads were not paved. About 7 miles from Bellingrath Gardens and not too far off interstate. Perfect lay-over for travelers, as several campers here were. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Lot spacing was nearby with some shade. Site surface was grass and features a picnic table. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is nice with large, level grass sites and a small pond. Owners are very nice. Full hook-ups. Pull-throughs and back-ins. Quiet. Our biggest issue was NO wifi and no cable - both of which are advertised as existing. We left after one night because we were looking for a place with wifi. If that had been working, we would have stayed longer. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This place OK for 1 night stay, cable was good, didn't use their WiFi. The place was wet from a lot of rain. They had a lot of ducks. You had make sure where you walked, a lot of duck droppings. I ask for a copy of the cable channels and was told to just to just flip thru the channels until you find one that you like. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Close to Winn Dixie store. We found a little Chinese restaurant we found up on HWY 90 that was very reasonable.

We just needed a place to stay for the night, so we stopped here. There is really nothing wrong with the place, but not sure I would stay here again. The road to get here is kind of out of the way. The roads inside the park are all dirt full of potholes. The biggest gripe we had, was the sites are very narrow, and the tree's are very big. We had to crush the tree branches to put our slides out, which you always worry about scratching up your coach doing this. The Wi-Fi was so so. Think there were several people living full time at this park. There were several run down rigs that looked like they have not moved in a very long time. They have not trimmed the trees in a very long time here. The driveway, which is very long, had a lot trees that would scrape the sides of your rig as you drove down it. The bugs are seriously out of control, must have been bitten 1000 times trying to BBQ up dinner. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Small park but very nice staff!! Easy in and out of sites. Although a few miles off I-10, easy access. Large green areas to walk dogs just watch for all the ducks and geese. No pool but close to a medium size town. Very peaceful, and would stay here again!! We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
