This is a wonderful park, and the sites are great. We were paced in site w22, which was a bit of a hassle to get into with our 39 foot 5th wheel, but doable. Sites 14,17, and 20 were taken, but would have been much easier to get into. Very quiet with beautiful views. Although it is a bit off the highway, it is well worth the trip to get there. we would definitely stay there again, and would lengthen our stay. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a terrific COE campground. Campground is built on a ridge on the inside of a bend in the Black Warrior river. Sites are good length, level concrete, and most are full hookup. Since it is built on a ridgeline, most sites have a few steps down to the patio area. Many have a cantilevered wood deck out toward the river. Lots of trees, so satellite reception may not be good. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Very Easy Park to get to. We had a pull through site, and there is plenty of room in between sites. Kid friendly and pet friendly. There is a very nice walking trail, paved and handicapped access. There are other nature trails that are a little more "natural". Sites are very level, clean, have picnic tables, grills and a fire pit. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

Arrived first thing in the morning (15 minutes early in fact) and was able to reserve a site for that night. I wanted to ensure I had a spot before going off to explore the area during the day. Very nice camp host chose a pull thru site near the restrooms but without any neighbors. It was a rainy day and chilly so didn't get to walk the trails as much as I wanted. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

A really lovely COE campground with some great hosts. We reserved a back in site, but upon arrival, it was obvious we wouldn't fit even though the advertised length was fine. The host moved us to a really nice pull through site (19) for part of our stay and a back in site (1) for the remainder. The entire campground was heavily treed for all shade which I'm sure is nice during hot weather, but in October, we were yearning for some sun. All sites have a really nice patio and/or deck area for enjoying the great views over the water. Any of the pull through sites are appropriate for big rigs, but care needs to be taken for back in sites. Some are shorter than advertised, others have a severe hill to get in the site. Very dog friendly campground. Satellite reception is doubtful in most sites due to heavy tree coverage, but we did pick up reception in Site 1. Very quiet and mostly empty during the week, but gets busy and loud on the weekends. The campground is a bit far out of the way, so I wouldn't call it a good place for an overnight stay. We really enjoyed our 12 day stay and will return. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Another wonderful COE park. Site overlooked river with good view of barges and pleasure boats. This was our 2nd stay within the last 6 months. Will stay here again. Price reflects senior pass discount. Hosts and Park Ranger very helpful with check in and area information. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

Bryant Denny Stadium within 20 minutes. If staying here for Alabama home football games make reservations early. Hosts advised many weekends are already getting full.

Another great COE campground. Our pull through site was 110' long and level concrete. We even had a deck that we could see the lake from, through the trees. Power and water hookups. Dump station to dump. Very quiet as we were here during the week, but the sites are all full on the weekends. OTA TV was only ABC. No WiFi but Verizon was very fast and good phone service. What a fantastically beautiful park -- I hope my photo wins the photo contest ! Most all sites are on the top of ridges overlooking the lake or river and hookups are good and internal roads are adequate -- roads getting there are small county roads but once you're there you'll enjoy this park. COE routinely does the best parks in the country. Price reflects park service senior pass. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

The host was very polite. He even changed our spot to give us a view of the dam. We have a toddler. I wouldn't recommend this place with small children because of how the sites are designed. They are like cliffs. You have a concrete pad with a wood deck but beyond that it falls off into the woods/water. Thankfully, we brought our toddler's locking gate pieces, therefore we were able to block most of the wooden deck with the RV and the rest we used the gate to block access of her being out and running around. It was quiet and cozy. It was a little scary backing in, but once there, then it is great! It is a bit of a drive from the highway. We used this as an overnight stay coming from New Orleans and headed to Pigeon Forge. It was perfect for that! We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Motorhome.

As close to perfect a park as weve seen. Sites were spacious and private with a deck, fire ring and barbeque-all immaculate- and a wide variety of choices. Showers were clean, well designed with ample hot water and great pressure, hiking/biking trails, blissfully quiet- the noise from the dam is like white noise- staff was helpful and friendly and it was only a few miles from town to boot. This is another great COE Park, our cost reflects the National Park Pass discount. As with most COE parks all sites have water and electric, all sites have a level concrete pad, gravel patio, fire ring, picnic table, grill and hanging post. Great park, lots of shade, wide main roads. About 3/4 of the sites are large and big rig friendly, the River Bluff Loop should be avoided if you have a rig over about 25'. Be aware in warm weather there are snakes and scorpions. Verizon cell and data have a good signal, TV antennas get good reception, dish may be limited. We would camp here again. Overall Rating:

This is a lovely deep-woods campground in an Army Corps of Engineers park. Sites are well-spread out and the trees make for decent privacy. The $11 rate is based on the senior discount. The regular rate is $22/night. The roadways leading to and inside the park are winding and hilly, but manageable. The sites have close to level, wide concrete pads, fire rings and picnic tables on the patios. Sites are spacious enough to fit your tow/towed vehicles. This isn't close to town, but grocery shopping is about 15 minutes away. No sewer connections at the sites, but there is a convenient dump station. 50 amp worked well, water pressure seemed a bit low, but usable. Off-air TV provided limited stations but with a strong digital signal. Your satellite will only work in certain sites due to the think foliage overhead. Strong Verizon cell and 4G service. The restrooms and showers are modern and clean. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Showers hot and lots of water pressure. Has a washer and dryer. Trails are in terrible shape - don't use them. Campground is nice. Lots of pull-throughs, good utilities, good OTA TV, MiFi only with amps and antennas. Lots of winding road to get here. Nice and quiet unless Bama is playing. Decks are nice with a little view of the lake through the trees. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a great campground. It is quiet and peaceful. Our site was very easy to get into. They are paved and level, they are spread apart so you don't feel crowded at all. They are well shaded. Picnic tables and grill were nice and clean. The area was well mowed for a national park environment. Although there was only one washer and dryer, they were clean and centrally located and ran well. The bathrooms and showers were nice and clean. The employees were very helpful and friendly. They checked with us often to make sure if we were in need of anything. There are trails down to the water. The trip out to the campground was a little winding but nothing that was too sharp for our 5th wheel. Overall the campground is very well kept. Only down side which is to be expected in a park campground is there is no septic hook-ups but there is a dump station that is very easy to get to and use and of course there isn't any tv connections for those who like to have that accommodation. We will definitely return if we are ever in this area again. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Very, very nice park. Beautiful pull-thru site with water and electric. Site perfectly level but I don't recall what the surface was. We had a problem with our hitch and the camp host sent several people to see if they could help. We enjoyed our stay of two nights and we able to get help in town on Monday and be on our way. I wish we could have stayed longer. Country Roads RV had the part we needed and were very helpful. Don't hesitate to call them if you're having a problem.
