An off-the-beaten track RV Park. Okay for an overnight stay since there aren't many campgrounds in this area. Access roads are narrow with steep ditches on both sides, but we didn't have trouble getting our 37' RV to a site at the top of the hill. Would recommend disconnecting tow vehicle before starting up to sites. Very quiet and secluded but no amenities, bathroom or shower. Very friendly and accommodating owners. Led us to the site and help get us parked. Payment is with cash or checks only. - Good Vibes

An off-the-beaten track campground for sure. Not a lot to do close by, but it works for an overnight stay. We were told the site was a pull-through, but because of the location of the hook-ups, I had to back up to make the turn-out when leaving. I would recommend disconnecting a tow vehicle on the entrance road, before starting up to the site. Very nice couple as owners trying to keep things neat and tidy. Nothing really for kids other than lots of woods to roam around in. - Good Vibes

This park is private and secure. A little on the primitive side but nice. It's a quiet area just minutes from town. Has views of the river which is quite peaceful. Woke up to sounds of nature, birds singing and even saw deer and squirrels. It was very relaxing. Mostly long term campers, working in the area, some with families, sitting around a campfire at night. Will definitely visit again! - Jared Woodall

Great for overnight. Have camped here many times on the way to the Juke Joint Festival in Clarksville, Ms. - Winnebago Navion
Nov 2015 - $11.00
This campground was very clean and well laid out. The hosts were always busy cleaning the campground. The sites are level and concrete with a patio made of small stone. AT&T cell and Verizon data worked good. We had a hard time finding the campground because we didn't trust our GPS. We were south bound on Hwy 45 and our GPS kept trying to take us down small roads that looked like dead ends. So towing a big rig we didn't trust it. We found out latter that we could have taken these roads and got there a lot sooner. - jhav

This is an excellent COE park. Most sites are well spaced, there are a few that are a little close together. About half the sites have a view of the river, others have brush and trees behind them which blocks the view. Lots of barge and boat traffic on the waterway. There is an Air Force training facility nearby; consequently there is a lot of air traffic during the day - the constant air traffic is not really bothersome, but you always hear it. In fact we enjoyed watching the training planes dart around the sky. There are two trails in the area - the one on the CG map is really a 1/2 mile long paved walkway that runs out of the camping area and past a beautiful swamp. The other is not on the CG map, but is accessible from the access road before you get into the CG. There is a small splash pad in the day use area - great for the kids in the hot summertime. This park is generally well shaded, but is still satellite friendly on most sites because the orientation of the main road is NE to SW. Open sky can be found from almost any site along this road pointing down the road. Rates for sewer sites, water front sites and pull through sites are a little more, but all are still reasonable. It's hard to find anything negative about this CG; If anything it has too many street lights! We like it dark. Grocery stores, fuel, hardware stores and general shopping is convenient to this park. - Bama Camper
Jun 2008 - $15.00
Arrived at 5 pm-- owners nowhere to be found. Left at 10 am the next morning, still not having ever seen them. Appear to be mostly full-timers in this cramped park w/no shower facilities. I backed in against an all night gas station which was pretty loud through the night. Overall unpleasant experience. - 23States

Very friendly and helpful. Convenient to Columbus. Sites close together. Well kept and quiet. Most of the RVs seemed to be permanent dwellers. The shady, pull-through sites at the front are the best. Convenience drove the decision to stay here. Will stay here again to visit relatives in the area. Not a vacation type park. - Macklen

What value, close to West Point and Columbus but oh so quiet and peaceful with long, easily accessed sites and full hookups. - Mrs.Picky
Mar 2016 - $11.00
Beautiful COE park 11 miles from US 45A. We will use this park again on our northern migration home. We have recommended this park to our northern migrating friends.
We were on site 77 which is the front part of a pullthru buddy site with 78.
The shower house was clean with an inside laundry (a washer & dryer).
Most campsites were large (long enough for big rigs) with 30/50 amp service & water hookups. Sites 40-45 also were sewer/water/electric. There also are a few pullthru sites. There are 100 campsites but we didn't walk thru the whole campground. The hookup on our site worked as expected. We had a great view of the waterway. - KatSuess
Mar 2016 - $11.00
Paved, level sites. Lots of trees. It was difficult to get Directv satellite. ATT cell and air card works great. Noise during the day from military base planes. Quiet at night. We would probably try a different COE park in the area next time. - lstaff
Jun 2017 - $24.00
This was a great state park. We had a spot right on Lake Lowndes. Great ranger that checked us in for the weekend. Very peaceful. A couple of problems; there were a lot of geese around the park and our spot had a lot of droppings to contend with, and there is a bad ant infestation. Had ants get in the RV during the first night and we spent the rest of the time fighting ants. The ants did not bite but caused a lot of stress. Appeared to be no problems on the other loop with the ant problem. - blonsk
May 2013 - $20.00
A very nice place to spend a few days. The bathrooms/shower are a bit tired, but work well. Unfortunately, we parked over the top of an ant hill and had an invasion. A little spray of ant killer did the trick. Very peaceful and beautiful. - mcsnygg

We enjoyed our stay here. Host was friendly and helpful. There were about a dozen sites occupied while we were here. Most appeared to be long term. However, their sites were clean and well kept. So, there was no unsightly appearances. We would camp here again. - jwindham
