It's obvious that the owners have tried very hard to make this a nice place. There is mini golf, a pool, a meeting place with a place for a fire, and a community room. I saw some people in the pool, but we didn't use it. We didn't see anyone using any of the other amenities. The park was very clean. There were some smaller trees. They had wifi, but it was spotty though sometimes useful. T-mobile reception was awful. Our AT & T hotspot worked, as did a Verizon phone. The campground is right next to a busy highway, and we could hear highway noise. The sites were narrow, so you were standing in your neighbor's site when getting something from the non-entrance side of the camper. The sites were OK on the other (entrance) side, but still narrow. The picnic tables were on the small side, seating only four people rather than the usual six seat size that we usually see. The office is only open from 1:00-5:00. They are closed on Sunday. They had a bathhouse at end of the park, as well as restrooms near the pool. Two of the four restrooms at the end of the park were unlocked when I used them, and neither of them had a soap dispenser by the sink. The laundry room was in its own building and was OK - two of the three washers worked, and there were two dryers. It was $1.50 to wash; $1.00 to dry. They tried to make it nice with a very large folding table, cart to move laundry around, and a magazine and book rack, but they were missing a chair to sit in and it had no air conditioning or fan. There was a small bench outside under an small overhang, but I wouldn't have wanted to sit there if it were raining. I ended up sitting on the floor while waiting for the laundry to finish. The impression we had was that this was an older campground that was missing a few things, but again, they appeared to be trying. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Positives: Grounds very well groomed. Clean. Gravel roads smooth, wide enough. Dog run large enough, fenced shaded. Staff friendly. Pool clean, small but large enough to cool off. Negatives: Spaces, gravel just wide enough for RV. You will have to walk in grass. They had just cut grass after being long. Grass clippings on everything. Space was a little off level but not terrible. One sheet half inch plywood under tires did job. Space between RV pads very tight. If your neighbor has slides, there will be almost no space between RV's. Only 4 public bathrooms/shower stalls. Map shows two bathhouses but the friendly maintenance man chuckled and said they "been working on it since April but ain't done yet." Of the four bathroom/showers, three were locked at 1100am on Friday for some unknown reason. Asked maintenance who said sometimes they get locked accidentally and sometimes owner locks when need cleaning. Owner will probably check them later when she gets off her other job. He does not have a key. When I asked him to please check with owner since I am staying with four persons, and two are girls, he was more concerned my tire was one foot in the grass and told me owner was going to "get on to me about that." The owner, however, was very nice, and I never saw her checking my area for tire tracks. Bathhouse has no A/C, no vent fans, a four inch screened roof level opening where flat tin roof meets block wall for ventilation. The screens kept out the bugs. However, In July, very hot and steamy in the shower/bathroom. You get sweaty before done drying off from a shower. All the 50-amp slots are very close to main Hwy 72, like 75-ft away. The hwy connects Huntsville to Chattanooga. Very busy. Highway noise. Lots of loud, fast trucks. Overall - I would stay here again since it is very close to Cathedral Caverns. It is clean, manicured, good l would stay here again since it is very close to Cathedral Caverns. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Convenient access to Hwy. Downside is it's to close to hwy. Road noise began about 4:30 and was pretty constant. No problems with site, level pull thru. If you can ignore traffic noise it's just fine. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed monthly. The monthly cost was good but did not include cable, wifi, and they provided only a modest electrical credit. No cell phone service for T-Mobile (at all) but Verizon and AT&T worked. The pool was already closed end of August. No park manager on site until 12:30 pm every day as the owners run a small gas station 1/2 mile from RV park. In cold weather, they require you to weather proof the water feed or they turn it off. If you need cable it cost extra and they don't provide cable wire. We couldn't get over the air tv at all. Owners were easy to talk to but always too busy to help with any issue except selling propane. Traffic noise was aweful. I would not advise anyone to plan a long term stay as we did but a two or three day overnight would be fine. Just don't arrive before 12:00 pm unless you can call them. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Parnell Creek RV Park, owner at Parnell Creek RV Park responded to this review

Thanks for the review. First, I really enjoyed talking with you and your wife during your 3 month stay with us. We inform monthly campers of the rates and what that includes before check-in. We include $110 of electric with 30amp service. We also have wifi available at the park, just not a every site. TV service is available for an additional charge. I am glad we were able to converse while I hooked you up to the TV service. The pool is open from Mid May through the end of September every year. Last year the pool closed the end of September. Yes, you are correct about the heat cable for cold weather, we do ask monthly campers to heat tape during the winter due to temperatures freezing and to protect pipes from bursting. We feel having water is a great benefit in the winter. Thanks for mentioning check-in. Our Check-in time is 1pm CST or after everyday. Again, we enjoyed having you at our park and would love to have you come stay with us again.

A small park and small sites. Mine was about 20'x45'. The owner is very outgoing and helpful with local info. The 4 lane to the space center is right there. Very little traffic. Easy access and easy return. No worry's about city streets and such. Basic admission to space center $25. ea. No cable but antenna got locals and sat for the rest. Wifi OK at the enclosure in center of park. The salt water pool was very refreshing. Lots of room to walk the dog. Ok for a few days to see the local area, but sites are small. We had a mostly level pull-through site that was just long enough for our 40 ft motorhome and toad. No trees to block our satellite dish. Adequate Verizon signal. Friendly and helpful staff. The park is clean and well maintained. Interior roads are narrow with some tight turns but I didn't leave any paint behind. Some highway noise but less than I expected considering how close we were. This is a small family owner park about 25 miles East of Huntsville. It has direct 4 lane access to the Space Center and all of Huntsville activities and sights. There is no cable and supposedly there are several OTA stations available, however, we were never able to get even one. Satellite reception is good. One really different feature is that this park has a satellite dish at nearly every site and will rent you a converter box to use during your stay. The owners seem very diligent in trying to improve their park. The only negative we had was highway noise. Hwy 72 is a busy 4 lane highway 24/7 and the park is adjacent to it. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fairly level gravel lots, no cable, wifi spotty. Their idea of a dog park was tiny. No shade, next to highway. This is an OK overnight stop is about it. We arrived late and they were nice enough to come back and check us in, very considerate. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

I paid for a week, my fault, they do not give refunds. Wish I had of paid for only 1 or 2 nights and checked it out. Main reason for staying was the pool and was so disappointed when I went to check it out and it was very cloudy with visible algae. This park would be ok for a one nighter, electric and water was good. Be cautious with a 40 footer, tight areas. I would not stay here again. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

We spent 3 nights here with a terrific PA rate of $15 per night. Gravel driveways and gravel site pad, full hookups, pretty good WiFi and a pool. We didn't use the pool. There is some highway noise but it didn't interfere with our sleep. The bathrooms are OK but could benefit from more thorough cleaning. Close to Crystal Cathedral State Park and about 20-30 minutes from Huntsville. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Located adjacent to US Route 72 with easy access but this does result in some road noise. Interior roads and sites are gravel and well kept but tight for a 40 ft motorhome. Most sites appear to be reasonably level. Power and water pressure were good. The sewer connection was several inches above ground making dumping somewhat tricky. The Wi-Fi signal was weak at our site and we could only access the Internet intermittently. The bathhouse was modern and clean; the laundry appeared serviceable but had no a/c and was hot during the day. They have a salt-water pool which was one of the cleanest I have seen. The fitness center is tiny without a/c, making it unusable when we visited. They do not offer cable but do rent Direct TV receivers though not every site has a dish. Sites are satellite friendly. There is little or no shade. We had 4G reception on AT&T. The park is pet-friendly with a very small dog run. This park seems best for 1-2 nights while traveling on US Route 72. In that circumstance, we would stay here again. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Interior roads a little narrow and new gravel was still mushy. A bit noisy from Hwy 72, but overall a quaint, rustic park with FHU and maintained neatly. You'll giggle at the "fitness center & tanning salon". We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great little park. Lovely staff and easy check-in. You can tell the owners took pride in their park. Park was clean, grass cut down and back from areas. Clean pool, fun little Put Put area. Lots of great little incidentals like pavilion and grills and fire rings. Roads were paved, sites were level gravel. Sites were close but not tight. Right next to Hwy, not bad hwy sound. If they would have had better Wi-Fi and cable, would have gave them a 10. Wish we could find more campsites like this one when we travel. Would stay here again. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
