A small campground with clean pit toilets and back in spaces. Located at the end of Anchor Point on Cook Inlet. Lots and lots of eagles congregate on the treetops and down on the beach as the tide starts going out. We camped at Halibut Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Watching the eagles is wonderful. There's also a tractor that pulls boats across the beach in and out of the water to launch them. I would definitely return here.

This spot was a nice state park with plenty of space between the sites. The camp hosts from Wisconsin were super duper and great at spotting moose. No mosquitoes and no wildfires! The beach, boat launching, and eagles were awesome beyond words. We stayed 3 days. The only downside were PIT toilets and no hookups. We camped at Halibut Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Tractors launch fishing boats into the wild surf with teenagers hanging off the back; it was great entertainment. Didn't meet a grumpy person during our stay here. In fact some cool locals (only U Penn Grad to do the Iditarod) gave us some signs as souvenirs. I counted 50 eagles one morning and saw some rare shorebirds. I really really liked this place. There is a great laundromat with a strange little snack bar to take an awesome shower in the small town strip.

This is an Alaska State Campground so there are no hookups. We camped here in a 36' Class A and did not have any problems getting in or out. The campground is within walking distance of the shore and a popular boat launch area where halibut fishermen come and go throughout the day. There were lots of bald eagles as well as gulls feeding on the day's catch (or what was left of it) that had washed up on shore or been deposited there by a deck hand ordered to get rid of the carcases. As bad as that sounds it made for great photo opportunities. And watching the tractor that launches and pulls the boats out of the water is worth at least one trip to watch. It is a great place to stay if you are going out on a boat to fish. We camped at Halibut Campground in a Motorhome.
