This park is very small and as the previous review stated, big rigs getting in and out is tight. We were surprised when we plugged in and had 50 amps! We did not use the water as we could not see where the water was coming from. This park is 5 - 6 miles before you get to Chitina. There is one site #12 which is by the small building that will hold a big rig, no problem. There are no bathrooms or showers on the premise. There also is no office on premise. You have to pay cash or check in an envelope like at a state park and place in a container. If there are problems, there is no one to go to and there is not any cell service at the park or telephone near by. By the way it you are going to McCarthy/Kennicott it is a very long way there on a dirt road. Took about 2 hours to get there at about 35 - 45 MPH. We camped at Wrangell View RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Okay base camp for exploring Kennicott and the edge of the Wrangell - St. Elias National Park. Campsites are rocky and only approximately level, but they have FHU's, including 50 amp! I only saw one site that could maybe be called pull-through, and I think really big rigs might be a little cramped here. It's pretty much parking lot camping, except the "parking lot" was practically empty. Nice view of mountains and Copper River Valley. Would stay here again if in the area. Rate is for a water and 30 amp electric back-in site. FHU sites as well as no hookup sites are also available. Very rough graded rocky park on the side of a hill with an Iron Ranger instead of an attendant. Restroom is a port-a-potty, though they do have water fill and waste dump. If you are visiting McCarthy-Kennecott this is the only park with hookups within miles. It does live up to its name and the views of Mt Wrangell are awesome. If you're not expecting much, this park will serve as a adequate base camp for visiting the area. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Wrangell View RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo
