We spent one night here and it is an okay place. Our site was a pull thru right beside the main road to the quite extensive and new looking motel and had quite a bit of traffic, including the constant back and forth of gas powered golf carts. They have a store onsite, plus there are two food vendors. One a Thai food and the other Mexican food. Both had a lot of customers. My wife liked this place and thought it was "pretty neat" with lots of people out and about. I personally would have preferred a turnout. Our site had electricity and water hookups. I guess we would both recommend this campground over a couple of others we saw in the Denali tourist area that were just parking lots with hookups. We camped at Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground (Privately Owned) in a Travel Trailer.

I was disappointed that I was unable to book a campground inside the National park, but Grizzly Bear RV Park turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Grizzly Bear is Located 6 miles south of the Denali Park entrance. Most sites are back in's, but there are two pull-throughs, #32 and 31. Site 32 has a large space between your RV and the trees allowing a good deal of privacy to sit outside. There is a lovely wooded area best suited for smaller RV's and tents, though sites 13 & 14 could accommodate large rigs. All sites have a picnic table and many have a BBQ/fire-pit. From the campground there is a path down to the Nenana River which has picnic tables and fire rings. There is laundry, a small convenience store and a small liquor outlet. Also, there are two food trucks on site; one serving Mexican and the other Thai. We looked at Rainbow Village (located 1 mile from the National park entrance), and am so glad they were fully booked as it is simply a big gravel lot behind a strip mall where RV's are lined up side-by-side with no privacy between sites. We camped at Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground (Privately Owned) in a Fifth Wheel.

We had 3 30' RVs in our group. We were basically in a parking lot. Very restricted room to maneuver into site due to towing or towed vehicles parking next to or in front of already parked RVs. Very noisy between highway and train tracks. Seemed more interested in cabin rental clients. Dump station was next to a site (felt sorry for them) and one had to go up a drive, turn and back down into dump station. Was not on way out of park. No control of loud partying campers even after 11PM. Hookups were in need of repair and fire rings were almost useless. Only positive was we could walk across the highway to catch a free Denali shuttle to the park. Would not stay here again. We camped at Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground (Privately Owned) in a Motorhome.

This was the best of the RV parks we could find close to Denali Nat'l Prk, according to reviews. It is in a very nice setting--woods and trees around it and spaces not too tight. It's quiet, and an easy drive to the park, despite ongoing construction. We felt the price was high for the level of facilities, but this is Alaska, and infrastructure is limited. We're giving it a 7 rating because it was pleasant, had electricity and water hook-up, and because we were able to walk behind the park into beautiful muskeg with views of the surrounding mountains--and it seemed better than any of the other parks we passed. We camped at Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground (Privately Owned) in a Motorhome.

This was the most unfriendly check in experience in a long time. Maybe adequate to 'welcome' new recruits on their first day in the army but being a customer I expect something different. The rate is for a W/E site. Despite the high rate you have to pay extra for a hot shower, not sure how much. We had a site down in the forested area. Very tight road and sites. At least the site was level. The upper level gives you more room to maneuver but the sites are squeezed together on a parking lot. No matter where you park, it is noisy. Highway traffic very noticeable and for some reason most of the trucks honk their horns when passing the campground. We cannot recommend this place and find it overpriced. We camped at Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground (Privately Owned) in a Truck Camper.

Campground has 3 pay coffin type showers, and small restrooms that are overused with so many campers. One of the two toilets in the men's restroom was backed up and not fixed in a timely fashion. Laundry is expensive. Outlying outhouses are disgusting. Although we stayed in a tent cabin, which was down a steep hill with a poor trail, we normally travel in an RV. Rv spaces were close together and short. They had the RVs crammed into every possible place, making maneuvering difficult. Roads are narrow. We camped at Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground (Privately Owned) in a Campground Cabin.

This campground is 6 miles south of the park. Most campgrounds in this area are that far out. We were told they had free WiFi. You do, for 1/2 hour for your entire stay. If it is one day or one week, you get 1/2 hour. Cable TV is via your antenna, and it does not come in. The spaces are not long, but it was empty so we had room. The office staff does seem new and does not speak clear English, so don't expect help on the area. We ask if we could have a later "checkout" and were told we would have to pay a 1/2 day rate to do it. They were more concerned about the bus tours they have, staying in their hotel here. Bus's were in and out a lot. The sewer dump is set up so you have to back into it. Not possible with our 40'. We would not stay here, but the National Park next time. We camped at Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground (Privately Owned) in a Fifth Wheel.

We were placed in pull through site number 32 which did not turn out to be a pull through. The equipment was on the wrong side of our 36 foot trailer and we had to back out more than 100 yards upon leaving. It appears that this park should be restricted to small rigs only. It is far too small and tight. Even the dump station was misplaced. We camped at Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground (Privately Owned) in a Fifth Wheel.

Very convenient to Denali National Park, six miles. Two nice hiking trails across the bridge off the Nenana River and a fairly well equipped grocery store. Prices in the store on the high side. Bring mosquito spray, lots of them when we were there in June. Shower facilities I have seen better. Front office staff poor, they seemed to be student interns. Could not answer many of the questions we had and no one around to help answer them. We camped at Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground (Privately Owned) in a Motorhome.

Had a nice back-in site in the trees which was nice. Electric & water with a dump station on site. Men's room was out of toilet paper two days in a row. Tried to take a shower once but the water never did get hot - perhaps too many people took showers in a short period of time. Tour bus into Denali picked us up from the campground which was very nice. Some sites allow campfires, some didn't. A couple of nice hiking trails close by. Campground was very convenient to the National Park as well as clean and pleasant. My teenage grandaughters didn't think there was quite enough to do, but Grandma disagrees! We camped at Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground (Privately Owned) in a Travel Trailer.

Considering the area, I'd give this park a very good rating. The sites were nicely spaced out and clean, the staff was engaged and friendly, and the park was only 6 miles south of the Denali main entrance. There are two closer RV parks to the entrance, but I'd consider them way too tight and over crowded. If you're doing a drive through (one or two days), this is the place you want to be. If you're going to stay longer, take a closer look at the state-ran camp grounds inside the park. We camped at Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground (Privately Owned) in a Travel Trailer.

We had to stay here a couple of days until we could get into the National Park campground. This park is about 26 miles down the road from the National Park. Its nothing special, very busy, sites are close together and its very dusty and close to the main road though it sits down in a valley. The employees are very nice and helpful and will do just about anything to help. We camped at Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground (Privately Owned) in a Motorhome.
