Best RV Park in Denali. Some sites can have a level issue for motorhomes. Stayed twice, the first site was 5 inches of slope, second stay the site was only 2 inches of slope. Water comes out rust colored, so use a good carbon filter (and backflush it when leaving). Simple cable channels but you get locals and a few others. Laundry is well maintained. Owners are very nice and accomodating. Utilities worked well. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Motorhome.

Check-in was friendly and informative. The site we were assigned was just deep enough for the fifth wheel, back-in to the barrier. Barely room to park the pick-up beside. Mostly level and close to the highway, the only highway, south to Denali and on to Anchorage. Utilities are at the rear of the site and CTV works well. This is a busy RV Park and Motel so reservations are a must. Groceries and fuel in Healy, a few miles away. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Denali National Park access nearby. Some of the tours start in town, not in the park. You can only drive to mile 14 in the park, no further. The mountain has a tendency to "hide" most of the time and it makes its own weather.

Was a basic place to stay for a few nights to explore the main entrance to Denali. The site was a bit tight for the slides and some looked like levelling would be necessary. Native vegetation did provide some buffer to neighboring RV's. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Motorhome.

Tight slots and narrow roads made maneuvering in and out challenging, as other patrons parked vehicles very close to or directly in the roads. Sites are very narrow; the bushes on one side made using the picnic table impossible. Big rigs can get into the park, but be patient and prepared to request others move their vehicles out of the way. Camp store is quite nice. Sites are mostly level; if sloped as ours was, they slope to the front; we backed in uphill. The cable connection is on a pole that one must share with four other sites; you'll have to search for it. However, at our site we had only 4 channels, none worth watching. Wireless is generally good, but like all other Tengointernet connections, slows way down as the park fills up. When I really needed internet, I used my hotspot. Cell phone coverage was very good. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Motorhome.

Three Bears grocery, liquor store, fuel station and Ace Hardware is only 9 miles north in Healy. Has plenty of room for RVs of all kinds to refuel and restock.

The RV park is about 8 miles north of the entrance to Denali National Park, which is the reason we picked it, along with having full service and good ratings on this site. Check-in was easy, it easy to navigate to the site and get everything connected. The roads and sites were gravel. We did find that the bushes they have between each site, while provided a little privacy, they also made the sites smaller, and were in the way if you needed to get into the basement. Electric, while they only have 30 amps, it worked well. The cable TV went in and out, and some of the channels were fuzzy. OTA and satellite TV were non-existent, as was the radio, satellite and antenna. Our AT&T cell phones and hot-spots worked well. We would stay here again. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Motorhome.

This the best RV park in the area. However, Sites are tight and parking of truck or tow vehicle is a challenge. Hookups are well placed. Cable is ok-- sometimes we lost channels. WiFi worked well and is an unsecured connection. Staff is helpful and gift shop has a good selection. Laundry room is clean but pricey ($4.00) per load. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Fifth Wheel.

We went white water rafting twice with Denali Raft Company. Wonderful experience with terrific staff and guides. 49th State Brewery and Restaurant has well prepared food and good brews and extensive whiskey selections. 3 Bears Grocery store has good selection of food, produce and meats.

Short narrow back in sites. Sites arranged on a slope up against a mountain. Better than the parking lot places. Some grass and picnic tables. Loud road noise in our site. One trail to explore. A bit pricey. Nice gift shop with accommodating staff. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Fifth Wheel.

This was the only RV park that had availability and it wasn't our first choice, because it is a little further from the park entrance. But, we are so happy that we stayed here! If you want hook ups or you are unable to get into the park campgrounds, this is the best place! The sites are roomy and have bushes and trees, and a great view. It is only about 8 miles from the visitor center at Denali NP. The people who checked us in were extremely friendly and helpful. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We took the Eilson visitor center guided bus tour. It was a little pricey, but well worth it. The visitor center has a great exhibit. We also had a great presentation at the science center. The shops in town are fun to visit, with a lot of authentic Alaskan art. The 49th State Brewery in nearby Healy is a great place to visit - great beer and food!

Typical private RV Park through Alaska. Sites close. Not a lot of vegetation. Friendly personnel. About 7 miles from entrance to Denali. A combination of state or federal parks would be good combination to see the state and save money. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Travel Trailer.

This was a very basic campground but the close proximity to Denali made it worthwhile. There are gravel roads and sites with no grass anywhere. As noted by other reviews, the sites are very tight with shrubs between that make it even tighter. Our neighbor had their picnic table in the shrubs which made our site even narrower. Also pretty short sites so our truck was parked along the side right next to our 5th wheel. We couldn't use our satellite (mountains in the way), but they provide free cable with 12 channels. The free WiFi was also fine. The road noise was distracting, but did quiet down after about 10pm. We thought the price was high for the quality of the park. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Fifth Wheel.

While this park does not have lots of frills, what it does have is peace and quiet and great service from the attendants (and laundry). Sites are basic gravel with picnic tables - many have shrubbery screening though. Some (like ours) have views across the valley which was nice. In comparison to the other opportunity in Denali village, this place is the Ritz. A big deal for us is that for $15, they will walk your dog twice while you are out for the day on those long Denali Park bus rides. Our site was really nice along the back edge facing a hedge which gave it nice privacy. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Travel Trailer.

We found the most special part of mountain viewing was in the evening. That seemed to be when the clouds cleared the most - and of course, the sun practically never sets.

Denali RV Park and Motel We stayed here for 5 nights, $48 Per nt. when I first arrived I was a bit disappointed ,due mostly to the very small size of the sites, 18' wide and with a small line of shrub trees between, not enough room for your picnic table on the site unless you want to try to squeeze it in between sites and over the sewer dump pipe of your neighbor. not enough room to put our your awnings, no fire pits, the sites are way to small to allow for that, all sites are about the same, we have a 43' RV just fit into the site, the car parked in front on the roadway On the plus side the folks here were very friendly, It was mostly quite except for some road noise, it is about 7 miles to the park and it does have the sewer service connections at the sites. we visited the Rainbow and Grizzly RV parks in the area and the Denial RV and Motel is definitely the best of the three. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here twice last summer. (I forgot to review so I'm doing so now.)

As others have said, this is an adequate place for a couple of nights. The back in sites are tight for a 28' tt. It was always packed, and the road construction (with pilot car) got a little old. We'll plan better next year and reserve a spot IN Denali. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Travel Trailer.
