We were fortunate to get one of the campsites a bit closer to the river, which have more screening between the sites. Some of the sites closer to the office seemed really tight. There is a nice riverfront area with a walking path down to the restaurant. There are picnic tables down in this area too, so it's quite park-like. A nice store with friendly people, but mostly souvenirs. We used the laundry facilities which were pretty good, but not much room to move about or fold clothes when busy. Water and electric were good, but limited cable TV and variable wifi. This campground was really full while we were there. Dump site and rig wash available, also tours. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Make your summer plans well in advance. Reserve early. Rather that a tour, we used Uber to go around to various sites. This worked great, plus we could stay as long or short as we liked.

Our site (H-2) was so tight that the neighboring (H-1) Fifth Wheel's awning was only inches from our port slide, and our door opened into trees and huge prickly rose bushes that are clearly never pruned. Electric post gave 30 or 50 amp power. Water pressure seemed a bit low, but was still more than adequate for needs. No room for a picnic table. WiFi worked well, when one could gain access, and that seemed to depend on time of day. Cable TV was bad; campground's package was the worst the satellite company offers. Some were pictures with no sound, some the reverse, some just snowy noise. The few clear ones were not worth watching. Car/RV wash on site. Camp store nicely stocked with souvenirs, but not much else. Wasn't necessary, as a Fred Meyer grocery, Autozone, and Walgreens Pharmacy were about a half mile away. Walking path along river goes past the resort's cabins to Chena's Alaskan Grill. Very friendly and helpful staff will sign you up for a variety of tours, and provide transportation to some. We would stay here again, preferably not in H-2, as it was not good value for the money charged. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Great Alaskan Bowl Company and Alaska Raw Fur Company are just outside the campground, both well worth the visit. Chena's Alaskan Grill is very expensive, even for Alaska, and while the food was good and there was a lot of it, it wasn't worth those prices. Don't miss the Gold Dredge No. 8 tour, both for the Alaska Pipeline and the dredge tour and gold panning.

We stayed at River's Edge for 4 nights. Nice park with lots of trees and you are on the rivers edge. It was no problem navigating the roads with our 40' motorhome and 4 door Jeep in tow. Our site had plenty of room. The 30 amp power at our site kept dropping and my surge protector would shut the power off. Not sure if it was just site specific or for the whole park. Gift shop is great, the staff was very helpful and they have ice cream and coffee in the office. The laundry room was huge and clean. They also have a car wash on site. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Motorhome.

Booked 2 nights after reading the RV Park Reviews - we were so tired after the drive up the Al-Can we stayed 5 nights. All utilities worked well better than average OTA T.V. Channels. Sites are fairly close with little privacy - some grass at each site. Nice walking/bike trail close by as is an excellent Fred Meyer. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice park located right on the Chena River. It was nice to have a little grass at our site! There is a great walking/ bike path from the RV park and a nice path to walk along the river. Full hook ups worked great. The cable didn't work and we kept being told that it would be fixed tomorrow, but it never was. The laundry room is quite large and well kept. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fairbanks is a very nice, clean town. Unfortunately, we also discovered that they have a wonderful hospital! Visiting the hospital was not on our agenda, but we sure were glad that when we needed it we were close to a good one and all is well! We took the riverboat Discovery trip and it was fantastic! We also visited the Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum. We have been to many auto museums and this was the best! Lots of beautiful cars and antique clothes!

I was given a "deluxe," pull through site. The site was gravel. I needed a one inch board to level my trailer side to side. There was grass on both side of the gravel pad; there were trees at the front edge of the site. A beat-up picnic table was provided. The site was a maximum of 55 feet long. The Tengo WI-FI was terrible. The WI-FI was either very slow or you could not hook up to it. My AT&T phone and data worked well. I had clearer reception and more channels using my HD antenna rather than the cable that was provided. For the cost, I expected better accommodations. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The Park is located close to a super market and auto store. The Chena River has a nice grass river walk. The Chena's Alaskan Grill had excellent food and was an easy walk from the RV Park.

We stayed here three nights in a full hookup site. Our pad was gravel. Our sitting space was grass and dirt with trees and bushes close in both sides. Yes, this place is kinda pricey, but after towing a travel trailer 5,400 miles from Florida and up the Alaska Highway, who cares? We didn't. Laundry is expensive, but one can always use a laundromat. We had three bars of Verizon and our Mobley device on AT&T worked well, too. We were able to stream Netflix and use our own wifi fine via the Mobley. We hooked up to the campground's cable TV, but it didn't seem to work very good. My wife tried the campground wifi and said it worked okay. I did not personally try it. There are a few sites next to the Chena River, but we did not score one of them. While the campground was clean the grass could stand to be trimmed or mowed. While there is somewhat decent spacing between camp sites the sewer hookup for our site was actually under the edge of our neighbor's picnic table. Yuk! Is it worth the price? Was to us, but might not be to you. Would we stay here again? Probably. Do we highly recommend it? No. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

1. Do not arrive even 15 minutes before their Noon check in time because they will not check you in and my wife said they were not very friendly about it. 2. The Pioneer Park has some neat stuff to see. 3. Seekins Ford did a great job servicing our F150 Platinum and replacing our old defective battery quickly and seemed reasonably priced. 4. The Museum of the North at the University is highly recommended.

This is the second time that we have stayed several nights in Fairbanks and use Pioneer Park with its more convenient location for most of the stay and then River's Edge for a night to dump, do laundry, wash the vehicles, and clean up. This park serves that need but is fairly expensive for what you get... Our site was a back-in along the fence and was touted as being 39 feet, yet we had to loosen the mirror of our Class A and move it against the window so that it did not stick out. Our cable did not work, but we were able to pick up several OTA stations. The wireless was terribly slow, but we were able to use our AT&T wireless data just fine. The car/RV wash was badly needed and it was affordable and appreciated! We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Motorhome.

Satellite reception not available - latitude and trees. Park is very nice, well maintained and situated on the Chena river. Nice view. But it's pricey for what you get. Cable TV (13 channel lineup). Side to side site space is adequate but front to back space is not adequate at all - very cramped. Difficult to park your truck or toad near your camper. First and foremost; it is not big rig friendly. Our 43 foot class A with 4 slides barely fit in the space and we were unable to open all slides or use the awning due to overhanging branches and trees that are just wider than the space. This was their super deluxe 50 amp right next to the river best of the best site. Seriously; touted as the best site in the park The fifth wheel next door has their awning out and my water spigot will be dry because it is under their awning. No, I didn't choose the wrong spigot It's that tight in here This premier site is also next to the loop road. We are already covered in dust from the constant circling of rigs and vehicles My wife found this place on a list of ten RV parks to visit in your life. Seriously? You can do better. The folks in the office were pleasant but that doesn't make up for the disappointing site. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Motorhome.

We were excited to stay here until we arrived. We had booked 6 months in advance and requested an end site. We were not given one on arrival until a great amount of back and forth and an upcharge. We then inquired about Internet they provide. They point you to TengoInternet. We then inquired about the cable TV they advertise. Alas, it is not working and they have no idea when it will be. The end site we finally had was terrific! We had great Internet off our Verizon Jetpack (4 bars LTE) so we did not suffer on that count. Tailgater will not work at these latitudes it appears. Air antenna pulled one channel. Interior sites are very tight, so the end sites are very important. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Large RV park with lots of variety of sites. We had a pull through that accommodated our fairly long 5er. There was some grass and a few shrubs between sites but close enough that you quickly got to know your neighbors. Good support facilities - laundry, etc. and decent value overall. Eat at The Crepery in downtown and Brewster's (just a mile up the road). Nearby Pioneer Park has free live music every night at 7 at the gazebo. The theater show at Pioneer Park was funny but the Salmon Bake there was a waste of time and money. Riverboat Discovery was great and educational.

This park has good potential as it's in a great location with shade trees alongside the Chena River. I was in a 30A full hook up site with cable. The site was 55' long, 14' wide with about 12' between my RV and my neighbor. There was some weedy grass on one side and tall weeds & prickly branches on the other. The trees and bushes need trimming as they brushed the top & sides of my RV getting into the site and I couldn't open my slides without contacting the branches. Other sites had the same issues with branches so that's common in the park. Although there is some room for parking tow vehicles around the edge of the park, most people park along the interior roads adding congestion. Sites aren't long enough for a motor home plus toad. They also back 2 shorter RVs in 1 site butt to butt. There are 2 pedestals in those sites. That practice really annoys me as your rear window looks in the window of your neighbor only a few inches away. For what you pay, the value just isn't here. Verizon had 3 bars with LTE. Satellite is unlikely due to trees. Cable TV worked fine. I love having a car/RV wash station on site. Washers/dryers are expensive at $6 per load. Park wifi worked okay. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an ok but overpriced RV park IMHO. It's probably considered a "luxury" park by Alaskan standards because there really aren't all that many full service RV parks around. But for $45 (E & W only w/Good Sam discount, don't even want to THINK how much the "premium" spots cost!), you'd think they could at least cut the grass. The sites are fairly spacious but they are gravel with lots of weeds growing in the middle and about taking over the picnic table. Also rough and not very level. If you don't mind that, the F-16's flying over several times a day with a deafening roar, the wi-fi that doesn't work, and the cable that was "out" (no explanation, e.t.a. of a fix, or offer of a discount), it's just fine. The cable thing really irked me and I don't even USE it, but many do and I'm sure a lot of people come here just for that sort of stuff. After all, if you are self-contained you can camp for free just about anywhere in Alaska and free dump stations and water fill stations are easy to come by too. We came here mainly for the laundry. I about had to take out a loan to do it at $3 per washer (and just average size too) and $3 per dryer. God forbid there's a little bit of dampness left...that'll be another $3 please. To their credit, the laundry and restroom facilities are bright, clean, and relatively modern although the shower ranged from scalding to freezing every minute or so for no discernible reason. I'll give them big props for one thing, though. They have HAIR DRYERS in the restroom. Never seen that before. I was suitably impressed. Verizon signal was good and data worked well. Next time, though, hair dryers notwithstanding, I'll stay at the nice free campsite by a pond an hour away like we did the previous two nights and just go to a laundromat in town. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Truck Camper.
