Riverview RV Park, manager at Riverview RV Park responded to this review

I’m not sure why you received poor WiFi. We had a new system installed first part of July and there have been virtually no complaints thus far. Last week I had a malfunction with the power strip that went un noticed for a couple days until one of one our guests mentioned it so perhaps that was the problem. I’m so very sorry for your poor WiFi experience.

Very nice park. Sites are long fairly wide, level, and grass in between sites. Utilities worked very well. Best cable reception (and choice of channels) in AK. Park staff is very nice and accommodating. Large laundry ($2 per wash) and good working machines. Large grass area and patio over looking the Chena river. One strange rule that no propane fire pits allowed. Gas Station attached to the park had the best Diesel prices in Fairbanks and they do through 2 tankers of diesel a week with all of their commercial accounts. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed only one night while passing through Fairbanks. Laundry facilities were good. Showers were private and clean. Campsites were typical RV park size, but somewhat larger than other campgrounds. They had evening entertainment, but we were not able to attend. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice RV park that is well maintained. Gravel road and level gravel sites. Picnic table at each site with small grass area. Very few trees. Site are close together. Both back in and pull through are available. Easy to maneuver through the park. Rest rooms and showers are clean and well maintained. Employees are courteous and friendly. Reservations are recommended. There is a rough 3 hole golf course, a gas station, and a grocery store on site. Recommended, would stay there again. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mostly level sites, most pull-through. Close to Chena River (so plenty of mosquitoes), 3 miles west of Fairbanks (street address is in North Pole, but that town is 5 miles east). A busy park when we were there, but maintenance was keeping up with it. Cable TV. Wifi was so intermittent as to be unusable. Free vehicle wash behind adjacent Riverview Convenience Store. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Visitor center in Fairbanks has free wifi and lots of local and park service info. Creamer's Field has several walking trails with placards. Museum on campus of U of AK is world-class. Great Alaska Pizza delivers quickly to the park and is tasty. During summer, Rich Eskew (resident) gives cowboy poetry and "tall tales" talk on Friday nights.

This campground was entirely satisfactory to me. Spaces were a little close. The neighbors plumbing and electrical were right by my door. Thankfully the sewer was near the back of the site. The shower I used smelled like pee! They are remodeling some of the showers so I take that as a good thing. I did not find the roads narrow and the turns tight as another reviewer suggested. The laundry was clean and the machines worked well. I paid the weekly rate which was less than Good Sam daily discount. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Check-in was friendly and informative. We were directed to the site, a full hook-up drive-thru. Utilities are well placed, including CTV. Phones worked well here. Wi-Fi was okay, not great. The site was mostly level and gravel with grass surround. Picnic table but no fire pits. There are separate showers, laundry wash $2, dry $2. There is a book exchange and a $5 deposit gets you a key to the laundry and showers. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

There isn't enough room to list all the really neat places to visit. Start with Discovery III, Follow with Gold Dredge #8 (pan for gold there). Pioneer Park for Salmon Bake, Palace Theater evening show. Lots of museums and shops to visit. The NORTH POLE is a must, including the old visitor center.

When I registered the person showed me on a map that the location for Site # 60 was at the end of a row, I thought great, hopefully this will be a somewhat larger site - WRONG. What a lousy site; it - must be the smallest pull-through site in the campground. Add to that, the site not level side to side. And lest we forget the internet - absolutely useless, even when standing beside their router, I could not get connected. For $48 a night, this place is a total waste of money. And don't forget to read their list of 18 rules for guests, parking, children, pets, and quite time. And what about location? The campground is situated on Badger Road which is an 11.5 mi loop off the Dempster highway. While there is an overpriced gas station next door, to get groceries or reasonably priced fuel you need to drive back to the Dempster Hwy and proceed from there. Guess who will NOT be staying at this campground on their way back from Denali? We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The park has some good qualities - an excellent laundry room, great private showers, clean bathrooms, great cable tv, full hookups and helpful service at check in. The down side was no working internet and sites very close together. We could have forgiven the close sites had the internet worked. It is easy to get into Fairbanks. This park is in a very convenient location for visiting North Pole & Fairbanks as it's about half-way between. The gravel roads at the entrance need some maintenance, but the rest of the roads and gravel sites were fine. There is grass between the sites with some trees and it's right on the Chena River. We couldn't use our Dish satellite, probably due to trees, but they supply free cable with a lot of channels. There is also free Wifi which we didn't use much since we have our own. It was usually a quiet place to stay except for the occasional noise from the gravel pit across the street, planes a couple times a day and TAPS at 10pm from the Army base nearby. The sites are kind of tight for a big rig but plenty long enough. We used the free car/RV wash and that was a big plus. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Riverboat Discovery and Gold Dredge 8 are both worth it. We especially liked Pike's Landing for lunch. Right on the river with a nice outdoor deck. You can see Denali from the parking lot at the International Arctic Research Center on Noyukuk near the University of Alaska.
