Typical Alaska independent RV Park. Tight spaces, little vegetation, roads tight. Would prefer State or federal but want some hookups. Would stay again. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

When I registered the person showed me on a map that the location for Site # 60 was at the end of a row, I thought great, hopefully this will be a somewhat larger site - WRONG. What a lousy site; it - must be the smallest pull-through site in the campground. Add to that, the site not level side to side. And lest we forget the internet - absolutely useless, even when standing beside their router, I could not get connected. For $48 a night, this place is a total waste of money. And don't forget to read their list of 18 rules for guests, parking, children, pets, and quite time. And what about location? The campground is situated on Badger Road which is an 11.5 mi loop off the Dempster highway. While there is an overpriced gas station next door, to get groceries or reasonably priced fuel you need to drive back to the Dempster Hwy and proceed from there. Guess who will NOT be staying at this campground on their way back from Denali? We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is in a very convenient location for visiting North Pole & Fairbanks as it's about half-way between. The gravel roads at the entrance need some maintenance, but the rest of the roads and gravel sites were fine. There is grass between the sites with some trees and it's right on the Chena River. We couldn't use our Dish satellite, probably due to trees, but they supply free cable with a lot of channels. There is also free Wifi which we didn't use much since we have our own. It was usually a quiet place to stay except for the occasional noise from the gravel pit across the street, planes a couple times a day and TAPS at 10pm from the Army base nearby. The sites are kind of tight for a big rig but plenty long enough. We used the free car/RV wash and that was a big plus. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Riverboat Discovery and Gold Dredge 8 are both worth it. We especially liked Pike's Landing for lunch. Right on the river with a nice outdoor deck. You can see Denali from the parking lot at the International Arctic Research Center on Noyukuk near the University of Alaska.

The park has some good qualities - an excellent laundry room, great private showers, clean bathrooms, great cable tv, full hookups and helpful service at check in. The down side was no working internet and sites very close together. We could have forgiven the close sites had the internet worked. It is easy to get into Fairbanks. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We were there six days and drove into Fairbanks each day. Fairbanks is a great place - we ran out of days before we ran out of things we wanted to do there!

This is a nice park on the eastern edge of Fairbanks. It's easy to get to from the Richardson Hwy. The sites were nice and large, and level. Biggest complaint about the sites is that the sewer hookup is at the very end of the site, so you either need a fairly long hose or park the back of your rig at the very edge of the drive. Some rigs were actually backing up to drain occasionally. Just a poor design, especially since electric and water were more to the middle. The office worker was very nice, even scheduled a local tour for us. Best thing was the free car and rig wash area. You have to provide your own bucket and brush/rags, but they had two hoses and a nice gravel area for washing, which is needed after driving the Alaska highways. Verizon and AT&T both had strong signals. They have wifi, but we never used it. The laundry room was nice and clean. We'd definitely recommend staying here, although we do feel the price is a bit high, but isn't everything in Alaska! Lol. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

A nice park, just outside of Fairbanks. Nice and quiet with decent amenities. The only problem is the Wi-Fi. Was so slow and kept dropping that we ended up using our Verizon hot spot. Very friendly daytime staff. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Thank you for staying with us here at Riverview RV Park. We made major upgrades to our wi-fi early in the season, but still having issues in the evenings and mornings due to high traffic usage when we are at or near capacity. I know it is of no consultation at this point but it works great between the hours of 9am to 5pm. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Nice enough. This park has fairly level roads and sites long enough for a 40-ft Motorhome plus tow. Some sites had picnic tables, ours the second night (moved to 119) did not. WiFi was fairly good except for high use times. Good Sam app showed this RV park with North Pole address, but it is actually half-way between Fairbanks and North Pole (10-12 miles to either town). You pay a refundable $5 fee for a key to the laundry and restrooms. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Drive to nearby North Pole for a touristy Christmas experience - especially the Santa House. If you want to do things in Fairbanks, drive the extra dozen miles to River's Edge in Fairbanks, as it is just as nice or nicer and lots closer to groceries, gas, shopping, restaurants and more. Plus, River's Edge can make reservations for you for Riverboat Discovery, Arctic Circle tours and more.

Riverview RV Park, manager at Riverview RV Park responded to this review

Im so very sorry that you did not have a picnic table on your second night. Had we known, we could have had one to you in a matter of minutes. Other guests, on occasion, find it necessary to have two tables and take them from other sites without us knowing.

We ALSO make reservations to the main attractions in Fairbanks such as the Riverboat Discovery, Gold Dredge 8, Alaska Salmon Bake, Palace Theater and all the Arctic Circle Tours.

There are three convenice stations, one being on the property and the other two being two miles in either direction. Yes, you do have to travel 8-10 miles for shopping but that is the beauty of our location.

Very nice park - quiet, spaces large enough for vehicles. Beautiful location on the river. Staff very friendly. We were in a travel trailer and stayed at this location for three nights to see area attractions. Staff gave recommendations as to what we might enjoy. Loved Fairbanks! Nice campground, about 10 miles from downtown Fairbanks. Long pull-thru sites, level, good hook-ups though the sewer hook-up is near the back of the site (good for 5th wheels), picnic table with each site, treed with grass between each site and near the river. The laundry is clean and there is a convenience store near the property. We would return is we ever visit Fairbanks again. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Motorhome.

The facilities are not elaborate, but are good. The sites were fairly large with easy access in our 42' coach. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were unable to hook up to the Wi-Fi during our stay and that seemed common among the other campers. The big drawback on the park and the reason I rated it so low is the reservation system. We booked our site for 3 days more than a week in advance and, based on our reservation, we made reservations for other events. Apparently, a caravan had also booked and when we arrived we were advised that we would have to move our coach on the 2nd day. Four other coaches were required to move and the caravan left at the same time creating a disorganized mess. It took us most of the morning to get set up in the new spot and we nearly missed our brunch cruise.

I would stay here again if I could get assurance that I would have the same spot for the time I was staying. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Motorhome.

The fountainhead Antique Automobile Museum is a must. Best antique auto museum we've ever been to. We also enjoyed the Discovery III Riverboat cruise. Very professionally done albeit a little expensive.
