This little park turned out to be one of my favorites in Alaska. Simple, quiet, level sites, wonderful owner and lots to do nearby. Sure, the sites are rather close if you end up with neighbors, but most Alaska parks are like that. You have a Mountain View both front and back, the highway is not heavily traveled and there is a little cafe on site that serves meals all day. The parking lot was well maintained, the site was plenty long enough to stay connected or keep toad behind. Hiking, rafting, ATV tours, glacier climbing, gold panning all within 10 miles. Dall Sheep on the mountain behind us. Ask the owner for recommendations of stuff to do. Would definitely stay there again. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Gold panning at Caribou Creek - saw black bear there! Hike Lionhead Mountain - the views are incredible. ATV and rafting tours just down the road. Climb the small hill behind the park - there is a bench up there with views of the park and Dall Sheep on the mountain across the highway.

We broke down about a mile away and pulled in. They made spaces for us and we stayed 2 days: FHUs. Had to stay part of extra day (at no cost) to get repair service out of Anchorage. Owner and restaurant staff very nice, helpful. Sites close together, but beautiful views. Restaurant was great food and service, particularly a long way from any town, etc. Parking area was being re-graveled while we were here, but little distraction. Good Verizon cell phone. While unplanned, we'd definitely stay here again if ever Motorhoming Alaska again. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Only stayed one night. Has nice restaurant on premises. Showers are pay and did not work while we were there. Mainly a parking lot with hookups, however you are facing the mountains. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Motorhome.

A gravel lot just off the highway BUT it has beautiful views and well worth the stay. Hi way traffic noise pretty much stops in the evening. Level pull thru sites, ok wifi and good phone service. They have a really good cafe on site with excellent food and cold beer. Breakfast was wonderful and is discounted for those staying at the park. Very pleasant staff. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Grandview had a grand view, but dirty restrooms and expensive showers that came on and off with the laundry machines. Staff seemed tired and over worked. Sites were very close to each other and road noise constant. I wish we would have stayed somewhere else. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful views from our level gravel pull-through site. The utilities worked well as did the cable TV and Wi-Fi. We also had good Verizon phone coverage for phone calls and messages but the data was slow. The park is right off the highway but noise was not a problem and it is easy to get to and easy to get around in. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Good hike to the top of the hill in front of sites. Watched a moose cow and her calves for several minutes while hiking it. We also saw a black bear run across the street near the campground. Good glacier views about 5-10 miles towards Anchorage. Pizza was good but a bit pricey.

This is a very nice park out in the middle of nowhere, with a nice diner and spectacular views of the glaciers. We had ample room for our motor home and toad. The staff was very nice. Not a lot of choices on the Glennallen Hwy, but this was way above what we expected. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We elected to take a premium pull thru site with electric and water only. FHU sites were available. Staff was friendly at check in. Did not use the bathhouse or.laundry. Dump station was available and easy to access. Campground across from mountain with Dall Sheep and a viewing scope is located in the office/restaurant. We could see parts of the Matanuska Glacier from our site. Food in restaurant was nothing special and pricey. We would stay here again. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A nice place to spend a night. Sites were adequate sized. Might be a bit tight if full, but it wasn't. Hookups were good and we got Wi-Fi at the site (we pull in pretty well). They provide guests with a "special" inexpensive, very good breakfast of bacon, scrambled eggs, and pancakes. The rest of the menu was a bit pricey. While at breakfast, I was able to see some mountain sheep high on the hills across the road. Actually, there were nice views in every direction. We would stay there again. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great stop over place along the Glenn Highway. The sites were level with crushed rock for a base. There is a very good restaurant on site with very good food. The hook-ups were mid-way on the site and no issues hooking up. We could see sheep on the mountain. We would stay here again. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A bit over priced but good stop over on way from Anchorage to Valdez. Small & clean. 3 shower/toilet rooms. Owner let us clean our rigs and trucks but had to use hose with shutoff. This was very nice as most RV parks restrict water use. Laundry has $2 washers and $2 dryers. Wi-Fi only good in cafe area because we were unable to get it at our site. Cafe food is good but expensive. We would stop here again. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We spent an overnight in this park on our way to Valdez. It is a clean, friendly park, with nice space and amazing views all around. The view of the Matanuska Glacier is down the road on a trail from the campground. We had difficulty with the wi-fi as we were at the far end of the row of motorhomes and campers which blocked the signal, but it was fine in the restaurant. Facilities were small but clean. Nice area to walk our dogs. We would recommend this campground. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This gravel parking lot is surrounded by pretty mountain views. The sites are level, long pull-throughs for easy access, but a bit narrow. Electrical and water connections were convenient, but we did not choose a sewer site. The bathroom in the restaurant was large and clean, but showers require quarters and we didn't use them. Wi-Fi was free and worked well. The available laundry had just a couple of small machines, so we didn't try it out. It seemed a bit pricey, but so is everything else in Alaska. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a gem of a campground. The sites are spaced with care, the view of the mountains is unbelievable. The small restaurant has great food. The owner takes personal care of the grounds and appreciates your business. We will return on our way back from Alaska. We camped at Grand View Cafe & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
