We found that this RV park was OK for the night while traveling through the area. The park is conveniently located right off of the highway. Our site was fairly level and easy to get into and out of. Showers were clean and bright. The only downside was that the business next door started making a LOT of racket about 6:30AM on Sunday morning! The manager said that the neighbor was redoing a metal building. We camped at Northern Nights RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice youg man in office, as well as the lady who took our reservation. Clean neat park, best Verizon service in all of the rv parks we have visited. Large cell phone facility next door. Tight for a 42 ft with towed, but really no problems. Best spots for large rv'S in the back 2 rv rows. Would stay here again. We camped at Northern Nights RV Campground in a Motorhome.

The park is located at The Hub, the junction of highways going to Anchorage and Valdez, near the Tesoro gas station. The sights are fairly roomy, gravel and there are sites with and without trees. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the wifi and Verizon service were very good. We camped at Northern Nights RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park with level gravel pull-through and back-in sites. Utilities worked well but no cable or over the air TV channels. Our Verizon cell worked well. The sites are a little tight but plenty of room for awning and slides. The park is easy to get to and easy to get around in. The owners/hosts are very friendly and helpful. We camped at Northern Nights RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

On Mondays. Wednesdays and Fridays they have a dessert social. We took a day trip to Valdez and glad we didn't take the motorhome because we didn't see much to do there unless you like to fish. We did enjoy visiting Worthington Glacier State Park and hiking a short hike to the glacier.

We arrived on the first day they were open so they were not quite ready for us. We camped mid-May and being farther from Anchorage we were able to pick from any of their sites. True pull-through sites don't have sewer, only water and power. Other sites do have full service but it's back-in. Plenty of pine trees and we were able level our rig quickly. I took advantage of the 2 free tokens for a shower and enjoyed the clean HOT shower. Bathrooms were equally clean. Wi-Fi was strong but I suspect it's because we were only one of 4 other campers in the park! I liked that it was not directly on the main road so the road noise was non-existent. Moose are in the area and you will see signs of them everywhere. I think it's mainly because they had the run of the place in the winter. We camped at Northern Nights RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We wanted to visit WSENP's visitor center but it was closed on weekends! We were too early in the season. We spent only one night at campground.

Sites are a bit small for large rigs, but that's a fair trade-off considering there are a nice number of shade trees. The managers were very friendly and helpful. Only a couple of sites have sewer, everyone else must use a dump station at the exit. That brings me to the one disadvantage: The exit is a single lane so anyone using the dump station blocks the exit. The rate listed includes a 10% discount. Any one of several memberships will earn the discount. The full rate is $40, which is high considering most sites do not have full hookups. We camped at Northern Nights RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Not a bad facility for an Alaska RV campground. Gravel with overgrown weeds and grass. Very friendly staff. Not fancy but it works for overnight camping. There is a fee for showers here. We camped at Northern Nights RV Campground in a Truck Camper.

A no frills park, it was adequate for our one night stay. Space was big enough that we didn't have to unhook our toad. We camped at Northern Nights RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Terrific hosts. Back-in site near the office was fine, good Wi-Fi reception there. Water and electric hookups were in the rear of the site on the passenger side of the RV. Not a problem for us but might be for some. Some leveling required in the gravel site, ours was nicely separated from the others. We happened to hit town on the "free dessert" night and it was very pleasant. Bring lots of mosquito repellent. We would return passing through this area. Good Sam discount reflected. Okay park - it was raining and muddy. Staff very helpful. Pull-through site #6 awkward but doable for our 43' rig. Nice place to visit McCarthy and Hennicott. When we got ready to leave on 2nd morning, there was a bunch of moose droppings - apparently a herd passed through during the night. Oh, they have free coffee and cup cakes on Mon and Fri nights! Would stay here again. We camped at Northern Nights RV Campground in a Motorhome.

This was a lucky pick. The showers were clean, but very busy. I suppose that it was because everyone staying there gets two free showers. The host was very nice. They do provide free hot chocolate and coffee in the morning. I saw a sign there advertising a dessert night, but I was not there long enough to partake in that. I would stay there again. This was a pretty good park for an overnight. Gravel sites were level; our hookups were at the tail end of our back-in site - OK for us, but maybe not others. Pull-throughs were separated better than the back-ins. Staff was friendly; one couple was learning, but the third person very efficient and knowledgeable. Showers were good, but few. No laundry - we were referred to the town laundromat. We would stay there again for a night. We camped at Northern Nights RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Gravel sites fairly level; water good; power stable; wifi is so-so out in the park, but our "booster" brings it in just fine. Nice outfit - Good Sam usual, or $2 veterans discounts. Dump on the way out is ok for our 1-3 day stays. Showers and restrooms are clean and neat - showers have the full-size residential glass-enclosed corner units; water/electric hook-ups gets you two "tokens" per day (per camper) for 7-minute showers. Out here, the fuel/power is expensive; this technique is entirely fair and reasonable. We'd considered Kenney Lake and Copper Center, but those roads would have clobbered our camper (nearly as bad as Beaver Creek to the AK border). Seems to be Native / 1st-Nation owned and operated, and they're doing a good job. We'd definitely stay here again. Grocery store is 1-minute down the road, and hardware is 2-minutes the other way. We camped at Northern Nights RV Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground has the potential to be fantastic. The sites are spaced and treed nicely. Even though we stayed in mid Sept and there were few people there, we still had to wait to shower ($3 each), since there were only 2 shower stalls. Also, the porta-potties were some of the fullest I've ever seen. Finally, the customer service was terrible. The owner (?) was talking to construction workers outside of the office when we showed up but wouldn't acknowledge us. After 15 minutes, we were ready to leave, but a worker finally showed up. Gave no info about the CG (maybe we're used to KOA's where you're inundated) and checked us in. We camped at Northern Nights RV Campground in a Tent.

Very clean park. Level gravel sites with picnic table, fire ring at each site and some trees. Could not access Wi-Fi. Went to the office where the owner tried as well without success. Finally a young female employee came in and was able to get my laptop connected. My husband never was able to connect with is laptop so he gave up. The network key given to us didn't work for either of us. Have no idea how the young girl employee connected for me. Would probably stay here again but would hope they resolve Wi-Fi issue.
