We stayed here as part of an Alaska RV Caravan, so I am not sure of the actual price per night. After many days spent at campgrounds that were more like gravel parking lots with tight spaces on the Al-Can highway, we were so happy to get to this park. The sites are on well-maintained grass and there is nice spacing between them. The showers and laundry were spotless and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful when a member of our group had a medical emergency. The location is beautiful as it is surrounded by mountains, yet it is in walking distance of town. The staff keeps everything tip-top and we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week (our rate was the weekly rate of $270) and felt secure enough to leave our rig while we took a 3-day side trip to Glacier Bay NP. Very meticulously maintained park with grassy sites, full services and clean restrooms. Room enough for our motorhome and Jeep with a picnic table. Sites are not too close together by Alaska standards. Met the new owners, friendly, helpful folks. Both wifi and AT&T cellular are iffy, come and go, like most remote places. Self-serve RV and car wash across the street, hardware store, propane and fuel just down the street. The town of Haines is about a mile down the road, airport is 3 miles up the road. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

The grounds were well-kept, with a wonderful expanse of grass compared to mostly gravel parks along the Alaska Highway. The dog rates it as a "10". Certainly a notch above most of the previous stops and the rate reflects it. Easy to access Haines and the local sights. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nicest park in Haines. All grass with gravel access roads. Great for big rigs. Utilities worked well. They tend to park everyone on top of each other rather than spacing, so ask when you check in. Quiet at night as Haines highway does not have much traffic. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 12 nights to explore Haines. So glad we did! The park is conveniently located at the edge of town so walking is very easy. The sites are on grass and long and wide enough to fit our 41' and truck. Park is lush and filled with flowers. A nice treat after plenty of gravel and dirt parks. The views from the mountains are amazing. Never got old! Laundry room is very clean with good machines. Wash is $3 US and dryer is 25 cents for 3 minutes. Gift store in office has a nice variety of gifts some priced less than the stores in town. Wish we could have cleaned our trailer windows but they don't allow wiping off your trailer. Staff is friendly and attentive. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

So much to do while in Haines! Rafting thru bald eagle preserves, fishing in Lynn Canal, drive to Chilkoot Lake (about 9 miles away), hike to Battery Point in Chilkat State Park. There is a good distillery in town, Port Chilkoot Distillery, and the Haines Brewing Company. Several good grocery stores. The barge comes in on Tuesday so shopping on Wednesday and Thursday are best. Fireweed Restaurant and Alpenglow (new) were both delicious and good service.

Only 2 blocks from downtown area and grocery stores and restaurants. Best time of year to stay here is May, it is cool and the driest month of the summer. Best rv park in Haines by far.

The grounds are well manicured and each site is grass covered and has a picnic table. While sites are side-by-side, there is some spacing between sites and when not full, staff seem to leave an empty site between occupied sites. Cable TV with 31 channels is provided. There is a laundry ($3 wash, dry = $0.25 for 3 min) and clean washrooms with free hot showers. WiFi is terrible. Even with an extender the few times that I was able to connect, the signal dropped frequently and was extremely slow. There is an additional charge of $3 a day if you use your AC or heater. Staff are especially pleasant and helpful. Despite its shortcomings, this park is far superior to the other RV park in town (Oceanside) which is nothing more than a gravel lot with RV's lined up in a row. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great clean laundry would be the top reason to stay. Clean shower, very clean well maintained park. A good break from forest service and dry camping. A bit pricey. Extra $ for internet. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

We are here in late June. Its a nice park; it was full when we arrived due to a local 3 day fair going on. The park is very well maintained, with nice grass, sites that are wide enough. but not excessive, perhaps 25 ft wide, good water electric and electric, poor cable TV, very slow Internet, clean restrooms and laundry rooms. The park is operated by the owners on site; they do not allow washing or waxing or even "wiping" down your car or RV. There is a car wash across the street, was told "do not use the brushes, they are very dirty with grime and will scratch the heck out of your car and RV". We have a 43 ft RV which just makes it end to end on a pull thru, the streets are wide, they do have some back in that will take 45 footers. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a well kept park in a great location. The sites are level with the utilities in the correct area. Look I like this campground but it's to expensive in my opinion. The dog area is outside their fence along a pretty busy road. My only problem is why do campers get put next to each other when there are open spacious everywhere? We camped here in a 40' motorhome. A very nice park, frequented by several caravans while we were there. Make reservations early! We stayed nine days, during which we took the fast ferry to and from Skagway for the Yukon/White Pass railroad tour and left Haines the ferry Matanuska through the inside passage to Prince Rupert, British Columbia, on our way back to the States.
The park rules were very strict about even wiping off any part of the motor home. Odd rules; but, not hard to abide by. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We purchased tickets for the fast ferry to and from Skagway and for the Yukon/White Pass railroad tour through the RV park.
A must-see is Chilkat State Park. Roads in the park are rough; but, if you drive to the launch area, you will see a beautiful, very tall, waterfall across the Chilkat Inlet.
There is a cannery tour; but, we didn't go on it. There is also a Hammer Museum in Haines.
We had a very good meal at the Lighthouse Restaurant.

My second time at this park. I'd give it an 11 or 12 if I could. Everything is as it should be in a campground. Roads are packed gravel, sites are grass and bullseye level. It has rained most of my stay, but there is no sinking, so there must be a solid underlayment to the grass. Cable has many stations and works well. Grounds are manicured and neat, gardens are pretty. WiFi worked well. Overall there is no negative with this place. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.
