We stayed here for 12 nights to explore Haines. So glad we did! The park is conveniently located at the edge of town so walking is very easy. The sites are on grass and long and wide enough to fit our 41' and truck. Park is lush and filled with flowers. A nice treat after plenty of gravel and dirt parks. The views from the mountains are amazing. Never got old! Laundry room is very clean with good machines. Wash is $3 US and dryer is 25 cents for 3 minutes. Gift store in office has a nice variety of gifts some priced less than the stores in town. Wish we could have cleaned our trailer windows but they don't allow wiping off your trailer. Staff is friendly and attentive. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

So much to do while in Haines! Rafting thru bald eagle preserves, fishing in Lynn Canal, drive to Chilkoot Lake (about 9 miles away), hike to Battery Point in Chilkat State Park. There is a good distillery in town, Port Chilkoot Distillery, and the Haines Brewing Company. Several good grocery stores. The barge comes in on Tuesday so shopping on Wednesday and Thursday are best. Fireweed Restaurant and Alpenglow (new) were both delicious and good service.

Tips for other Campers:

Only 2 blocks from downtown area and grocery stores and restaurants. Best time of year to stay here is May, it is cool and the driest month of the summer. Best rv park in Haines by far.

Overall Rating:

The grounds are well manicured and each site is grass covered and has a picnic table. While sites are side-by-side, there is some spacing between sites and when not full, staff seem to leave an empty site between occupied sites. Cable TV with 31 channels is provided. There is a laundry ($3 wash, dry = $0.25 for 3 min) and clean washrooms with free hot showers. WiFi is terrible. Even with an extender the few times that I was able to connect, the signal dropped frequently and was extremely slow. There is an additional charge of $3 a day if you use your AC or heater. Staff are especially pleasant and helpful. Despite its shortcomings, this park is far superior to the other RV park in town (Oceanside) which is nothing more than a gravel lot with RV's lined up in a row. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is probably one of the nicest, cleanest, and neatest RV parks we have stayed in over the years. Located at the entry to town, it is well manicured, the bathrooms are immaculate and smell wonderful, and the access to town is just a few blocks. Friendly staff---all in all a wonderful place to stay. Sites are grassy, medium to large in size and easily accessible. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Come here in the summer when the weather is gorgeous. Sunny, open space and daytime highs around 68-70 degrees. Nights cool enough to sleep with no AC required.

From Texas to Canada to Alaska this was the most well kept, clean, well maintained park we have stayed in to date. Everything is fresh, clean and the landscaping is wonderful. The agents are friendly and helpful. You can tell they take great pride in their business and their customers. I would recommend this park to everyone. Wi-Fi and cable works better than any park we have been in to date. Thanks for a wonderful Alaska experience in your hometown. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nicely kept park and good utilities. Only thing that keeps it from being a 10 is that it is in town with Haines Highway on one side and Main street on the other. Not a lot of traffic (day or night), so it's not a big deal. We looked at the other parks in town and while you don't get an ocean view, this is the nicest park. They have a well kept laundry as well. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful park, very well run, neat, clean. Staff is full of information. Sites are all grass and it is lush and green. Washing rig is not allowed. They referred us to Duck In Car Wash across the street. We believe the clearance wasn't as high as indicated, and we damaged our A/C. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice well kept park. Very strict rules which keep this park nice. All sites are nice, more private in the back away from main road. About 6 blocks from town. We preferred the Ocean front RV park but they were full. Oceanside is smaller and site closer together but views of ocean are worth it, and right in town. I would stay at Oceanside is available just because the harbor is right out your front door, but this one is very good. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is the neatest and best kept park we have stayed in for a long time and is within walking distance to everything in the town. The office staff were most helpful and informative. We would most definitely stay here again. It is by far the best in town. All beautiful grassy sites and good, large even pads. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We paid a premium price to have 50 amp service. I'm not sure it was worth it though. Park is clean and people are friendly and helpful. You camp on grass and there are lots of pull through spaces. We would stay here again but might opt for 30 amp service which is less money. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here for five nights and this is one of the most immaculate parks we have ever stayed in. Prices seem quite high. All of the sites are grass and are immediately mowed upon resident departures. It almost seems somewhat impractical. Only objections are the amount of rules and monitorings that have been implemented to protect the grass. Haines is a beautiful area and we would return and stay at this park. Very nice, well groomed park and centrally located. However, at $42 for the night it was a little too pricey. The park had way too many "Don't Do's". No portable heaters, no AC, etc., and an additional $8.95 for the WiFi had it's own list of "Don't Do's". We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
