The grounds were well-kept, with a wonderful expanse of grass compared to mostly gravel parks along the Alaska Highway. The dog rates it as a "10". Certainly a notch above most of the previous stops and the rate reflects it. Easy to access Haines and the local sights. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nicest park in Haines. All grass with gravel access roads. Great for big rigs. Utilities worked well. They tend to park everyone on top of each other rather than spacing, so ask when you check in. Quiet at night as Haines highway does not have much traffic. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great clean laundry would be the top reason to stay. Clean shower, very clean well maintained park. A good break from forest service and dry camping. A bit pricey. Extra $ for internet. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

We are here in late June. Its a nice park; it was full when we arrived due to a local 3 day fair going on. The park is very well maintained, with nice grass, sites that are wide enough. but not excessive, perhaps 25 ft wide, good water electric and electric, poor cable TV, very slow Internet, clean restrooms and laundry rooms. The park is operated by the owners on site; they do not allow washing or waxing or even "wiping" down your car or RV. There is a car wash across the street, was told "do not use the brushes, they are very dirty with grime and will scratch the heck out of your car and RV". We have a 43 ft RV which just makes it end to end on a pull thru, the streets are wide, they do have some back in that will take 45 footers. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a well kept park in a great location. The sites are level with the utilities in the correct area. Look I like this campground but it's to expensive in my opinion. The dog area is outside their fence along a pretty busy road. My only problem is why do campers get put next to each other when there are open spacious everywhere? We camped here in a 40' motorhome. A very nice park, frequented by several caravans while we were there. Make reservations early! We stayed nine days, during which we took the fast ferry to and from Skagway for the Yukon/White Pass railroad tour and left Haines the ferry Matanuska through the inside passage to Prince Rupert, British Columbia, on our way back to the States.
The park rules were very strict about even wiping off any part of the motor home. Odd rules; but, not hard to abide by. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We purchased tickets for the fast ferry to and from Skagway and for the Yukon/White Pass railroad tour through the RV park.
A must-see is Chilkat State Park. Roads in the park are rough; but, if you drive to the launch area, you will see a beautiful, very tall, waterfall across the Chilkat Inlet.
There is a cannery tour; but, we didn't go on it. There is also a Hammer Museum in Haines.
We had a very good meal at the Lighthouse Restaurant.

My second time at this park. I'd give it an 11 or 12 if I could. Everything is as it should be in a campground. Roads are packed gravel, sites are grass and bullseye level. It has rained most of my stay, but there is no sinking, so there must be a solid underlayment to the grass. Cable has many stations and works well. Grounds are manicured and neat, gardens are pretty. WiFi worked well. Overall there is no negative with this place. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very clean park. All sites from what I could see were grass. They are level and the park roads are all gravel. No tree limbs to worry about. Park is open, no trees except on outter edges of park. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only 30 amp but it was cool and that's all we needed. They do not allow washing of vehicles, I think that's because they might own the car/ RV wash across the street. Internet was a little slow and be careful because ther is a notice when you sign in to their site saying that it is monitored. I don't know if it is monitored by them (the park) but I was using the park wifi and I had someone hack me and tell me to.... quit correcting "ALOT".... I shutdown immediately and used my own hotspot on my phone. So be careful with their open wifi connection. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

Clean, pretty, organized, beautiful green grass, no junk around, everything worked as it should, close to town, about 6 blocks to middle of town. Nice hosts, very relaxing. Nicest RV park we used in Alaska. Very easy to get into for a 42ft towing a Jeep. will sty here again when in Alaska. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here as part of a caravan. This is the best campground we stayed at in our 2 month tour. WiFi was ok. Satellite work on some channels. Good laundry. Sites are on grass, about ½ pull thru, the rest back-in. RV/car wash is right across the street. Park is on north end of town. Moderate walk to downtown. Car needed for other areas of town. Helpful staff. Sites were a bit close. They used shrubs as protection for the hookups so they were easier to see while backing. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

The owners of this park obviously care and work hard to keep it in great shape. The sites are level and all grass (would prefer packed gravel or a solid surface, but it worked ok). All hookups worked well (though we didn't try the cable tv). Wifi was good, but sometimes slow. The park is very convenient to downtown Haines. There's plenty of space to get into and out of the spaces. Overall, this is a great park with service-oriented hosts in a very nice, small Alaskan town. We would most definitely stay here again. Very attractive, meticulously maintained campground. Well-trimmed grass sites, some back-in, some pull-through. My site was full hookups with CATV & Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi was very good. There was some traffic noise but this is a very nice park--the best I've seen in Alaska. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.
