As others have said new owners and this is now called Midnight Sun RV park. Management and staff are very nice and accommodating. Park still needs tons of work and hopefully in the off season this year they will level roads/sites, re-gravel and trim trees. Have a 40' motorhome and would not take my rig down to the park with the road and site conditions as they currently are. However, they offered us dry camping in the overflow sites those were better but still not level. There is a large gravel flat pad between the store and overflow sites, they let us stay there and it was PERFECT. Level, wide, and the noise from 49th state and the highway was not bad at all. This could be a nice park if they fix it up. We camped at Midnight Sun RV and Campground (formerly) McKinley RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

This park has changed it's name to Midnight Sun RV Park. The new owner is very friendly and helpful. They are working on trying to get the place cleaned up from the previous owners. The positives are very stable 30 amp electric, good water pressure, convenience store and fuel on site. The gas station is big rig friendly. The brewery next door is a great place to eat or just hang. Great food and beer. Nice short drive to Denali NP. The cons are the park needs some cleaning up. We received a lot of rain while we were there and our site was completely flooded due to having lots of pot holes and not level. The road into the park is pretty bad for a motorhome. Lot's of big pot holes that really rocked my 40' motorhome. The park is pretty tight for big rigs, I caught some branches trying to get out. We did not use the bathrooms or laundry. We camped at Midnight Sun RV and Campground (formerly) McKinley RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Might not have stayed here had we read last years reviews. However, this is a new season, and these are new owners. I have no complaints. Friendly, helpful, lots of choice of dry, electric, water, full hookups etc. Could use a little more TLC. Didn't go to the micro-brewery or restaurant but heard they were good. New owners, new season, give them a chance even though the reviews from last year were awful with different owners. The new owners have lived in this area for a few years and admit, the past reviews were probably accurate. Campground was dirty, grass was not cut. Smelled of sewer no matter where you were. Trash, old cars and sheet metal pieces laying on the ground. Staff was difficult to understand, did not speak English very well. We only stayed one night it was that bad. Run, don't walk away from this campground. Mosquitoes are unbelievable. Piles of large dog poop and trash strewn about one long term site. Mgmt not enforcing standards. Trees need branches removed and in some cases the whole tree needs to be removed for larger rigs. Flushing water at dump station not working. Water spigots at site but whole row not working. Little to no maintenance. Understand bought out in Apr 2015 and new owners really do no want campground part of the deal. We camped at Midnight Sun RV and Campground (formerly) McKinley RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

First, we couldn't find the place. Next, we paid at a store, the had to go down a gravel road, past a junkyard and into a park with only one tenter there. Our rig wouldn't even fit into the spot they gave us, much less a tow dolly and car. Then I really began to notice our surroundings and told my traveling partner that I didn't even feel safe. We went back and the young men who were there seemed to understand our feelings and refunded us. I would recommend extreme caution in camping here. This place was a dump. The sites were not level and were very difficult to get into.. Road construction workers were staying here while working on the Parks Highway. The RV park did nothing to keep the place picked up. We camped at Midnight Sun RV and Campground (formerly) McKinley RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I have mixed feelings about this campground. The negatives are junk yard aspect of old vehicles parked around, uneven parking spots, rough roads, weak Wi-Fi, overall unkempt appearance. Positive aspects; one of few with full hookups near the national park, on-site restaurant/brewery had very good food and service, AND the park staff was young friendly and helpful! I really don't know if I would stay here again. Will make that decision next time we come through! We camped at Midnight Sun RV and Campground (formerly) McKinley RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Showers, toilets and sinks were filthy. Walking up the steps to the restrooms was an experience, the septic tank or sewer smell would take your hat off!!! There were junk vehicles surrounding the place. The Wi-Fi worked well. Keep on driving and don't stop here. This has the potential to be a nice campground. When we arrived, the signs to the campground were poor and we ended up driving behind the restaurant. Not so good in a 40' motorhome towing a car. Register in the store at the gas station. It does seem to have a decent selection of things. The campground itself has trees, is off the street and space between the sites. HOWEVER, there are broken down junk vans and a bus parked around one side and the road to the campground itself has huge potholes you can't drive around. The map they pass out for the sites, gives the wrong direction into them, so get out and walk to your site before going down the campsite roads or you might find yourself at a dead end with trouble getting out. The park does not appear to be well cared for. They do offer Wi-Fi, but it was very slow and sometimes non existent. Some of the sites are pretty level, not sure about all. If you are assigned to site 1 or 2 check it out carefully as raw sewage was dumping there in July 2013. Terrible campground. Definetly missrepresented !! Picture must have been after construction. Dumpster was near our campsite and smelled horribly. Broken stairs to climb hill to store. Bathrooms were filthy and I would not use them !! If we had not paid at time of reservation we would have not stayed. We camped here in a fifth wheel. Bad. The roads were full of potholes. The garbage cans were over-flowing with extra garbage on the ground. They hadn't been emptied for awhile as they had quite a smell. The grass hadn't been cut, the stairs, which they show in their ad, has boards that are broken or about ready to break. There were some other big rigs but also a number of construction workers (who were friendly and certainly weren't a problem). We had a view of a mountain plus an old bus. If we weren't self contained in a motorhome, I probably would have moved on. Except they want full payment up front when reserving: maybe that's a clue! We would not stay again, but in the Denali area, there aren't a lot of choices. We camped at Midnight Sun RV and Campground (formerly) McKinley RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

A dump. Very disappointing with deep potholes on the road to the sites, very tight turns, untidy sites with old abandoned RVs. Showers and toilets were not clean. We would not stay here again. We camped at Midnight Sun RV and Campground (formerly) McKinley RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Pictures of this park must have been taken when it was new. Bathrooms were in a portable trailer and in disrepair as well as dirty. Interior roads were rough and filled with pot holes. The trash was scattered about by the birds. It's only saving grace was the 49th State brewery and restaurant within short walking distance. They were just interested in taking your money and nothing else. We camped at Midnight Sun RV and Campground (formerly) McKinley RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

This park was dirty and had horrible bathrooms and showers. Another problem was that it is next door to a bar that has loud, thumping music some nights that keeps you awake to after 1:00AM. This was, by far, the worst RV park we found in Alaska. We camped at Midnight Sun RV and Campground (formerly) McKinley RV & Campground in a Motorhome.
