Wow! I don't think we have ever stayed at a park with such a stunning view: the park is on a bluff overlooking the entire bay which is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and even a couple of volcanos. Amazing! Ask for a site up front; we had 13 and it was perfect. Sites are fairly level and roomy. They stagger the front ones so you aren't completely locked by someone else's rig. Wifi and phone service is excellent. Very nice staff. New owners didn't get their advertising going this year, but once people find out about this place, it will be packed in season. Nothing comes close. The parks on the spit are gravel lots with ok but closely-spaced water front lots, but when you see the views from this park, you'll choose Baycrest. The park is located just before you get into Homer, turn right at the Tesoro gas station. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

I agree with the previous reviews. The best campground we have stayed at in Alaska. What a view of the Inlet and mountains. Eagles flying around your campsite and boats and whales in the Inlet. You are on high bluff overlooking the Cook Inlet, nothing between you and the view. Site have grass behind them and between them and are level gravel. The new owners are working hard to make this a really fine RV park. Showers are clean and they give you two free showers when you check in. The WiFi is among the best we have found in Alaska. Cell service works great. We planned on staying two days and stayed three and if it had not started to rain, might have stayed another day. Much better than staying on the Spit. Easy drive to town and the Spit. Nice campground host that had lots of suggestions on the area. Would stay here again in heartbeat! We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Gas station and store at the top of the entrance. You get a 10% discount on food and beverage. Also, can get firewood at station.

This place is all about the view. Many of the sites have a great view of Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains. There is even an active volcano in the distance. Our site was a gravel back-in and not level. A table is included at some sites. Electric and water connections were okay, but the sewer outlet was higher than the motorhome drain. No cable TV, but 7 channels off the air. Wi-Fi worked fine. The office gives out 2 shower tokens for every night stay. They have a small gift shop in the office. For the view alone, we would stay here again. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Motorhome.

If there is a better place to stay at Homer, I'll like to see it. Beautiful view, spacious site, clean restroom and hot showers. Management and onsite camp host were excellent. Stayed for a week and should have stayed longer. Eagles glide by our window each day and the view of the bay is tremendous. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed down on the Spit before, but we enjoy being away from the craziness of town, but close enough to visit it. The amenities at this campground are some of the best we have had while in Alaska. The restrooms and laundry were spotless, Wifi worked well and FHU for the same price as down on the Spit. You get a free shower, with towels, soap and shampoo provided. Sprint worked OK. As other reviewers have said, the view is spectacular. Some of the sites are not level, but we would stay here again. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Shopping and restaurants are nearby. Be sure to visit the Ocean Center while here, there is a fee but it is wonderful. Take a ride up on the Skyline drive for a great view of the Spit.

Quiet park, about 4 miles from crowds and noise of Homer Spit. Gravel, roomy, back-in sites with grass in between; picnic table and fire ring. Park is on bluffs above Cook Inlet; awesome views of Inlet and snow-capped mountains. We watched eagles soaring from our Site, which we enjoyed more than the Spit. Plenty of grass to walk our dogs, We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Good ice cream cones at the Gas Station/Convenience Store.

Good park with a million-dollar view. The RV park sits on top of the bluffs overlooking Cook's Inlet. Looking out you see the full Inlet with all the snow-covered mountains in the background. The park is reached a couple of miles before Homer but you've got to keep your eyes open for it--it's not well marked. It sits behind a gas station on top of a fairly steep down-grade going into Homer. Once you pull off the road and into the park, you know you've chosen the right place. My wife and I walked through and there's not a bad site. Not one! Bathrooms and laundry room were clean. The laundry was expensive; $4.00 for a wash and $0.25/five minutes for the dry cycle. The "fully-loaded" price for the sites was $50.00--the most expensive place I've stayed in while here in Alaska. If it wasn't for the cost, I would have rated them higher. The access roads and interior roads were paved; the sites were gravel and grass and there was minimal highway noise. Despite the cost, I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Homer Spit is all-tourist; don't bother unless that's what you like. Take a drive through town and into the outer areas--every corner takes your breath away and you'll find several good restaurants.

One reviewer said that this is the most beautiful camp site and that is True. The sites are facing Kachemak bay on the cliff side. So you have really an open view of the entire bay. You can see boats passing by and we even see the air blow from a whale. Bathroom and shower are clean, laundry machines available. Shower are 2 dollars for approx 20 minutes includes soap and shampoo. You have to buy the token for shower. Unfortunately, if you have extra token they will not return your money. The gift store is nice. The leveling is not that good. It took us almost 30 minutes to get the 'half bubble in' (leveling). Careful with the location map from google map. The actual site is about 10 minutes away towards Homer from what being point by google map. Have informed the owner to make revised. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Motorhome.

The most impressive aspect of this resort is the incredible view which is outstanding! The second most impressive aspect is the quiet (unlike camp grounds on the Homer Spit). Sites are all back in but suitably wide with good utility hook ups. The grounds are behind the C-Store on the highway also owned by the same folks. Check in was fast and friendly and an onsite host is present. It is about 3 miles to Homer so the experience here is far different from staying on the busy (windy and noisy) Homer Spit. If you want to be in the middle of the fishing, boating and vacationing action you will probably want to be on the Spit. This place is very quiet and much more reasonably priced than the closer in campgrounds. The price posted here is based on a weekly rate. The owners have had this property for a very short time and are working hard to make it a more up to date resort. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Little Mermaid Restaurant is excellent. It is located on the Spit.

This campground provided for us the best view of any campground we have ever stayed at. It is located on a cliff outside of Homer and overlooks Katchamek Bay. We had a back in site on the lower level and had spectacular views out our window. Did not use the bathhouse or laundry so cannot comment on them. Verizon. cell/mifi worked fine. Check in is at the gas station located in front of the campground. They sell huge, inexpensive ice cream cones. Short drive to Homer and the Homer Spit. We would stay here again. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is an adjunct to a gas station, but it has marvelous views of the water and (weather permitting) the mountains and the glaciers in two directions. We had a great, level site, with good hookups. Wi-Fi was adequate. If you want to be left to your own, this is the park. All of their attention is on the gas station and deli. But things worked and the trash bins were emptied. We stayed 4 nights while enjoying Homer. It is not on the spit, but a short drive - and quiet. We would stay there again. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Motorhome.

One of the most beautiful views I have ever had in an RV. The internet didn't work. The park looks like it could use some TLC. But the view was worth it. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed for 3 nights in this park with terrific scenic views. The good news is most sights have outstanding views, reasonably quiet area, with roomy, level sites, that are easy to back into. With a little effort, it could perhaps be the place to stay in Homer, but now it lacks management attention. At check in, there are not any signs to indicate an office. Once you reach and park at the only likely building, the small sign on door directs to the adjacent filling station, a couple hundred yards away. In pouring rain, either drive back or hike. At check-in, no literature or warnings that showers require a $3 token, which is another trip back to the filling station. Literature says restrooms, but there is only one toilet, with an adjacent sink. If park were busy, would anticipate big hold-up at only toilet/sink. Really annoying was toilet paper holder was empty. The holder held three rolls, all were empty, so don’t think it is cleaned regulary or the check list is incomplete. Laundry was $4/machine. Wi-Fi tended to drop connections. With tax, cost was $48/day; included water, 30 amp, and sewer. TV available on antenna. Perhaps an option to the others in town, if you know what to expect. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Decent enough park. Nice views. Management is non-existent. Power, water, sewer at all sites. Easy in and out, although the upper sites are angled as if to keep driving out. We stayed in a bluff site - quite and good views. As previous reviewer mentioned could be a good park. Probably doesn't get the business because people want to be at the "Spit". It is only a 10 minute drive to the Spit. We would stay again. We camped at Baycrest RV Park in a Motorhome.
