I had a level, back in, gravel site. It was necessary to turn my rig 180 degrees to back into my site. There was a picnic table and fire pit. I had a pie shaped site so parking my truck was a little weird to not block the sites on either side of me. As other have stated, the view from the cliffs was fantastic. I was on the lower tier. AT&T worked well. The WI-FI was fine. We camped at Homer/Baycrest KOA (formerly Baycrest RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

The views from this park make it worth the price! The ability to sit outside (or inside) your camper and watch eagles soar right beside you as you overlook the beautiful Kachemak Bay is priceless and very relaxing! It is very convenient to everything in Homer, too. We camped at Homer/Baycrest KOA (formerly Baycrest RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

At Baycrest it is all about the view, as many others have already stated, and that is what you will be paying for. Other than a small camp store and showers and laundry there are no amenities and nothing to do except enjoy the view; assuming you are in an ocean side site. The sites are designed for back in parking, even on the ocean side, so if you are in a motorhome be prepared with long power cable, water hose, and sewer hose extensions if you want to face the ocean for the view. Water pressure is pretty low here. The sites are adequately sized, at least on the "upper" area. Most sites are 30 amp although about a half a dozen have 50 amp. Almost all spaces have sewer as well. They have a small paved overflow lot with nothing but a narrow parking space and even those were full during our stay. And that parking space will cost you $30. The park is clean and tidy and obviously well cared for. The young lady at the office was pleasant. There is a gas station at the entrance to the park with a very small quick stop type store but don't count on finding much more than drinks and candy. They don't really carry groceries so if you need to shop you will have to head to town where there are several full service grocery stores. If you realize the limitations and come for the view you probably won't be disappointed. We camped at Homer/Baycrest KOA (formerly Baycrest RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Homer spit is the tourist hub during the summer and there are lots of shopping and eating establishments. They change from year to year so it's hard to count on things or make recommendations. It is several miles down the hill and out to the spit or shopping in town so if you don't have a toad or some transportation you will be at a disadvantage.

We loved staying here for a week. We backed in with windows overseeing Kachemak Bay, mountains, glaciers, volcanoes! The campground is neat and clean, including the laundry with 3 working washers and driers. Staff was helpful. We camped at Homer/Baycrest KOA (formerly Baycrest RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is so much to do. Drive the East End Road to see mountian and glaciers. Great restaurants and shops. Grocery store is good. A water taxi on Homer Spit will take you anywhere along the bay, inexpensively. Bald eagles by the beaches. Homer Spit is fun with fishing charters and sightseeing charters, as well as a ferry. Nice people and lots to do. Best views in the world out my windows! Would definitely return!

This park had the most awesome views across the bay and mountains; probably the best in all of Alaska that we've seen and it was from the living room window of our coach. Our site was level and pretty spacious (though not all of them are) and it was the only time we've ever been able to unhook our truck from the 5th wheel and pull it straight out front to park....really long sites. The sites that back in to the bluff have grass behind them and it's not like a manicured lawn, so at times it was a little rough....but that only added to the character since the bluff drops straight down behind you. Other than grass there are a few mature trees but not much other landscaping. The gravel roads and sites are fairly level and well maintained. You're just off off the Sterling Hwy but it's not noisy at all. Our Dish satellite worked well, but their free WiFi didn't work sometimes and was a little slow. If we're ever back in Homer we'll definitely stay here again. We camped at Homer/Baycrest KOA (formerly Baycrest RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Not too many people would give an RV Ppark a 10-Star rating if it didn't have every possible service. So, there is no swimming pool or playground but that wasn't important to me. I gave it 10 stars because the view was the best in Alaska and may be in my top 1% for views out of probably 500 RV Parks and campgrounds that I have stayed at in my 40 years of RVing throughout North America. It is a few miles away from the Spit and this a good thing. No crowds, less wind, the view to die for and a great ownership-management team that runs the park smoothly, efficiently and in a friendly way. This was my second Alaska RV trip and when I do a 3rd, the Baycrest RV Park will be the first one that I reserve in advance. We camped at Homer/Baycrest KOA (formerly Baycrest RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This RV Park has a really nice gas station away from the sites but out on the highway. Good place to gas up if you have just driven The Sterling and will be headed back to Seward or Anchorage. Another tip is that if you want a nice restaurant with a terrific lunch menu and an even better one for dinner, try the Chart Room at the end of the Spit. Lots of variety and all prepared by skilled chefs.

We were in site 45 on the lower level. I believe they put longer stays down there as 1 looked like they live there and the other told us they were staying for a month. But since not too busy in May, they let us stay there for only 4 days. It is a back in but we pulled in and ran utilites under the coach. The check-in girl had to get permission for us to do this. But with a DP the only view is out the front window and the site was on a cliff overlooking the Cook Inlet. Spectacular! The site next to us, which was vacant had broken glass in and around the firepit and metal tent stakes on the ground. We had to careful when walking on that side. All sites had lots of weeds and scraggly grass that needed attention. It was about 7 miles from town and another couple to the Spit. It was very quiet at night. Would definitely stay there again. Very nice park on the bluff on the north edge of Homer overlooking Katchemak Bay. Beautiful views out our back window. Some sites have more space than others, ours is quite large. There is grass in most sites. Staff is friendly and helpful. Dog walking is available through 'Homer Hounds' in town if you charter fish or tour.

Lots of space making parking easy for all size rigs. We camped at Homer/Baycrest KOA (formerly Baycrest RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We debated between this park and others on the Homer Spit. If you really want to be next to the water in the midst of the fishing charters and activity the parks on the Spit are preferable. They are the normal Alaska gravel parking lots with rv's side-by-side. We were glad we picked the park on the bluff with views, a little more elbow-room, and quieter. The Spit was only 4 miles away.

Agree with previous reviews. Very friendly helpful owners. Views the most incredible we've seen in 4 years of long term travel. Good consistent wifi. No cable but can get all major network channels over the air. Verizon connectivity good. Highly recommended. We camped at Homer/Baycrest KOA (formerly Baycrest RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Stayed one night. That was enough. Yes, nice view on the bluff, but Alaska is FILLED with beautiful views and eagles. When we arrived, told there was no reservation, until we showed them the e-mail confirmation. My trusty surge protector showed reversed polarity, their only answer was that there have been problems with a lot of the 'new' surge protectors ... of course, not THEIR problem. I wouldn't hook-up, besides, the previous user had overrun the sewer and no one had cleaned the area, it stunk. WE had to go find a site with correct power. The shower is super clean, usable if you're a 'little people'. Over-priced, would not stay here again. We camped at Homer/Baycrest KOA (formerly Baycrest RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed one week for $300. ($50/night, 7th night free). Pretty pleased with that rate considering after a day of sightseeing, fishing, shopping or sailing we came back to a quiet, full hook up sight with amazing views. Also, it is about 8 - 10 degrees warmer on that bluff than ocean side Homer Spit with all its wind. It is about 4 miles from Homer Spit and not a large, crowded campground. There were good restaurants on that road along with a market. We were on an end site (17) so we had some privacy also. We found restrooms and laundry nice and clean. Loved it here. Wow! I don't think we have ever stayed at a park with such a stunning view: the park is on a bluff overlooking the entire bay which is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and even a couple of volcanos. Amazing! Ask for a site up front; we had 13 and it was perfect. Sites are fairly level and roomy. They stagger the front ones so you aren't completely locked by someone else's rig. Wifi and phone service is excellent. Very nice staff. New owners didn't get their advertising going this year, but once people find out about this place, it will be packed in season. Nothing comes close. The parks on the spit are gravel lots with ok but closely-spaced water front lots, but when you see the views from this park, you'll choose Baycrest. The park is located just before you get into Homer, turn right at the Tesoro gas station. We camped at Homer/Baycrest KOA (formerly Baycrest RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

I agree with the previous reviews. The best campground we have stayed at in Alaska. What a view of the Inlet and mountains. Eagles flying around your campsite and boats and whales in the Inlet. You are on high bluff overlooking the Cook Inlet, nothing between you and the view. Site have grass behind them and between them and are level gravel. The new owners are working hard to make this a really fine RV park. Showers are clean and they give you two free showers when you check in. The WiFi is among the best we have found in Alaska. Cell service works great. We planned on staying two days and stayed three and if it had not started to rain, might have stayed another day. Much better than staying on the Spit. Easy drive to town and the Spit. Nice campground host that had lots of suggestions on the area. Would stay here again in heartbeat! This place is all about the view. Many of the sites have a great view of Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains. There is even an active volcano in the distance. Our site was a gravel back-in and not level. A table is included at some sites. Electric and water connections were okay, but the sewer outlet was higher than the motorhome drain. No cable TV, but 7 channels off the air. Wi-Fi worked fine. The office gives out 2 shower tokens for every night stay. They have a small gift shop in the office. For the view alone, we would stay here again. We camped at Homer/Baycrest KOA (formerly Baycrest RV Park) in a Motorhome.
