This park offers a breathtaking view of Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet. The gravel sites are spacious, and graded horizontally into the slope down to the bluff. Ours was absolutely "dead nuts" level with no adjustment required, side to side or fore and aft. The water pressure was great and the electrical service was strong and steady. WiFi worked well at times, but I suspect some folks were being less than considerate and streaming video in the evening. Cable TV was all movie channels, but I received a good strong over the air broadcast on NBC and CBS out of Anchorage. Verizon was a bit on the weak side. The staff was friendly and courteous. The gravel beach at the foot of the bluff was excellent for walks. We will definitely stay here again should we find ourselves in Homer again. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to visit the famous Homer Spit. As the locals say, "Spit Happens". If you are in Homer on a Saturday or a Wednesday, there is an excellent Farmers Market in town on the main drag. Also be sure to save room one evening for the Bar-B-Q conveniently located in the little trailer next to the camp office. The owner is a very personable guy, and his food is outstanding. Order early! He runs out.

This park is built on a hillside with spectacular views of the bay and mountains. If you are fortunate enough to get a site at the bottom of the hill, the views are great. There is even a resident bald eagle that shows up most every morning. Aside from the views, the park is average. The staff is friendly and the park is generally kept neat and clean except for the tall grass between sites. Sites afe somewhat tight and backing in can be a challenge if there are trucks parked along the roads. The laundryroom when we were there had 2 small front-load machines working. Cost was $3.00 per load wash or dry. This is considerably less than the local laundromat. Utilities work OK except for some sewer connections. The sewer pipes at many sites extend up to 6 or 7 inches above grade making it virtually impossible to get gravity flow drainage. I saw a couple people resort to hooking up and draining tanks at their neighbors' lower site when it was vacated. Fortunately, if you are in a site with this problem there is a city dump station up the street across from the post office. We would stay here again, but would make sure we got a site with proper drainage. Even with its issues the park is in a great location and quiet. Your only other options are a few parks on the spit in the middle of tourist row. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a good RV park and appeared better than those we saw on the Homer spit. Gravel sites are hardly "spacious" and most slope both back to front and side to side. The pull thrus are shared by two RVs butt-to-butt on a 75' site so each RV gets about 38'. I detest sharing a pull-thru with another RV only a couple feet out your rear window. Sites are tiered down the hill so you are slightly higher than the RV on your ocean side with adequate room for slideouts and about 15' between RVs. I saw several busses with their front wheels off the ground seeking level. The side to side site slope wasn't excessive. Utilities worked fine. Cable TV only works if you get their digital box (deposit required) but off the air signals are good as another reviewer noted. Dish satellite couldn't connect: still too far north despite open skies. Verizon voice worked well but data was 3G and barely worked at all here or anywhere in Homer. Park wifi worked okay depending on time of day and number of folks using it. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is right outside town, but about 7 miles from the spit. Nice spots - all with partial view of the water. It is on a bluff and there is a walkway down to the beach. Also tent sites and fire pit on the bluff side of campground. Cute gift store in the office. BBQ grill and patio behind office. Nice laundry room ($3.00 each wash and dry). We had a new picnic table at our site, which was fairly level. Others were not so much. Winds off the water can be high (another reason to stay off the spit). Some grass at each site. I would say the sites were fairly spacious side to side. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You can drive down to the spit and do the shops and restaurants, etc., but the campgrounds I saw down there were basically gravel lots with electric poles. It gets really windy down there on the water too.

View is fabulous. Close to the spit. Our site was not level. Showers were free. Women's room was very nice. Husband said men's was not that great. Our picnic table couldn't be used as our site was so uneven. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very friendly staff. Washer / dryers are small but, affordable. Oceanview is limited when campground is full due to blocked view by adjacent RV units. Walking distance to all downtown shopping. Quiet setting closer to water with ocean waves masking highway sounds. Beach access down trail / embankment. No table nor fire pit for the price. Would stay here again. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is on a terraced hillside with views of the water and mountains. Staff was helpful. Laundry was adequate but could use some TLC. No set time for cleaning restrooms, sign was up but no one cleaning. Very expensive considering water and electric sites were the same as full hook-up. No dump station. We camped in a truck camper but for large rigs it would be very tight. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Great views and a nice quite place to stay. Electric and water were good. The only negative is not all that level and some trucks park on the road so it can be hard to get out if all the lots are full. All gravel sites and roads. Not too many tables to use. Have a trolley WiFi was pretty good. Cable TV works great and lots of channels but you have to get a box at the office and hope they have one. I would stay again if in the area. Staff very friendly and helpful. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Oceanview name is correct! It is beautiful, with friendly staff. When we arrived we were only 3rd camper on site but when we left it was full. We were asked to move our reserved spot because we were next to one of the campers. We tried one spot and could not get level so we tried another -- not more than 20 minutes later four other campers moved in right next to us. So that was a waste of time. Cable service did not work, Wi-Fi did work. I will attribute all of the issues including level pads to the fact that we were one of the first visitors to the RV Park for the season. They could not get their gravel load until the highway dept allowed the trucks to use the roads. The Staff said they would call the cable company to check their service. They also gave us the Good Sam discount and we were not GS members! We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We took our bikes and rode down to Homer Spit. It's about 2 miles to the start of Home Spit Road. Homer Spit road is 4.5 miles long and relatively flat so this old broad was able to handle it! At the end of Spit road there are shops, pubs and marina. Even saw Time Bandit from Deadliest Catch moored up. There is a Safeway within biking distance (it would be a long walk) of the park. "Old Town" is within walking distance but it's not walk friendly at all and was a disappointment.

This was a nice park and all the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. It is big rig accessible but tight for rigs 40 ft and over. Wi-fi seemed to work fine when we used it. Usually very late at night and I suspect we were one of few on it. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Motorhome.

I have to disagree with the glowing reviews of this park. Everyone that works here is grumpy and does not care. They have guaranteed business. Roads are narrow and steep tough to back in a big rig. The ocean view is not from your inside your rig but rather the roads as the park is laid out for maximum revenue and not to provide views. The cable TV is scrambled digital, this means you need a converter box (they required a $172 security deposit). It also means that if you have 2 TVs you need 2 boxes (and they don't have many boxes). Advertised Internet is spotty and frustrating to try and get something done as it stops working regularly (probably too little bandwidth and too much traffic). The site trash service is actually ugly trash cans at each site, gives the place a "trashy" look. Only 4 washers/dryers for a large park. Some sites have shared water, which means you need a long hose to get to the next site. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park lives up to its name. There is a beautiful view of Kachemak Bay, but not from every site. The sites are tight and the slope is not that steep so from the middle of the park, one RV probably sees only its neighbor. We had Site B6 - on the edge of the bluff with a perfect view. The park advertises 'pull-thru' but only if a rig is not already parked in the site in back. In the 4 days we were in Homer, I saw only 1 big rig be able to pull through to its assigned site. All others backed in. The WiFi was clear and consistently strong (no RV park is very fast). The bathrooms and showers were spotless. The laundry was clean and neat, but expensive ($3) The office people were always helpful and friendly. It is possible to walk directly to the beach from the RV park. We would definitely stay there again. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Originally we wanted to stay on the Homer Spit - we thought that was the way to go. Instead we stayed here and we are glad we did. This park does not have the traffic and noise as do the parks on the spit. This park is close to Old Town Homer and within walking distance to the visitors center, islands & ocean center and more. The gift shop is very nice and the staff is friendly. The view is beautiful. We stayed for 8 days in site #60. We were stay here again. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Our review might be a little prejudiced as we were assigned a nice wide and long pull through site separate from the main park. The afternoon check-in person was friendly and helpful. The woman working in the evening was surly and rude. Laundry was woefully inadequate for this size of a park, 4 washers and 4 dryers. Other than that, a very nice place with a beautiful view of the inlet. Would definitely stay here again, providing I had a space in the same part of the park. We camped at Oceanview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
