Vastly overpriced for the site. Did have good power and electric. There was sewer at site but was at the front of spot, so we had to disconnect from water/electric to dump. Showers were coin operated. Did not use. Had washer and dryer, but took tokens to use. Over 4.00 each for washer and dryer. Last resort space. We camped at Alaska Dacha in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

My family and I camped here one night, in our RV, in a pull through spot with elec/water/sewer. For starters, we couldn't use the sewer because the fitting was too small (no one was hooked up so I think this was a common problem.) Second, the manager is NOT KID FRIENDLY. I overheard the "manager" loudly, openly referring to the kids (maybe ours or maybe the several other families) as "damn kids" multiple times, while shouting (to other guests) about them ruining the property. Some kids were eating apples off an apple tree I heard, but I thought it was very unprofessional to so publicly voice is distaste of kids. There were young kids riding bikes but all parents were actively involved and I never saw kids acting inappropriate.

We will be saving our money and staying in "downtown" Hope! Much better view, live music on the weekends, kid friendly and cheaper!!! We camped at Alaska Dacha in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Our price was for an electric site only. No sewer. I read the previous reviews from quite a long time ago and was a bit worried about staying here. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Our back-in site was mostly level and wide enough for our tow vehicle. There was lots of grass. There are picnic tables and fire pits but not for every site so sharing is the practice. There were 4 pull-through sites also. There is a small store, an ATM out front, laundry and showers available.
The interior roads were a bit tight but our 35' RV was fine since we had unhooked our Jeep in their parking lot but larger rigs might have a little trouble.
It is about a mile into the small town of Hope where there is a marvelous smaller museum. We camped at Alaska Dacha in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

It is a 1-mile walk to the very good museum in Hope Several old pioneer buildings which have been moved to the site. Inside each are period furnishings appropriate to that building and a recording about that building. There is a bunkhouse, stable, blacksmith shop and others. There is lots of old equipment in another building. Very interesting to visitors of all ages.
We also visited the Surprise cemetery which is down the road

One of the worst campgrounds we have ever stayed in! Price of $36 is for a small back-in site and they charge $4 extra for a shower and extra $ for Wi-Fi. The sites in this campground are packed in very tight and ours does not have a table of any kind. Our site was partially resurfaced recently with dirt/gravel and is uneven as a result. The showers are in the main office and since the main office doesn't open until 9 AM you cannot take a shower until then! At 10PM they forced our neighbors (who did not pay for a full hook-up site) to move because they accidentally gave them this site which had already been reserved by someone else (they did not have any other open full hook-up site for the late arrival). Staff could be friendlier since they all act like they just came from a wake. Fortunately we are staying just one night. We camped at Alaska Dacha in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a clean and respectable RV campground. The campground, office, store, and laundry room are clean and orderly. There is a library with DVDs, 8-track tapes, and books to check out for free. The staff were friendly and helpful regarding what to do and see in the Hope area. We went on a scenic float with the Chaguch Outdoor Center. There are also world class white water trips available which can be booked through this office. We used one of the pull through sites with full hookups. We camped at Alaska Dacha in a Fifth Wheel.

Only stayed here because we found the Porcupine Campground closed. The "Dacha" is full of seasonal workers (guys working on the Porcupine upgrade project?) staying in the Hotel/Hostel/Cabins that seem to have taken over the place. There are dogs running loose everywhere, with no apparent effort to enforce the leash rule. No fire rings or picnic tables at camp sites - just "community" sites. Bring LOTS of bug spray. Won't be back. We camped at Alaska Dacha in a Fifth Wheel.
