The park employees said the smell was from the spreading of fish carcasses on the property, but that was not the only terrible smell. The septic smell was strong all over the park. It gave the park a disgusting feeling to have such a nasty smell all the time. I certainly did not want to drink their water, just did not trust this outfit.

The RVs are parked very close together, if we opened our awning, the neighbors could not open theirs. People in the campground did not quiet down until after 11 PM each night. Campfire smoke from neighbors came into our trailer if windows were open. Not pleasant. This should be a $20-25 campground. We camped at Diamond M Ranch Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here with a Caravan group so no idea as to cost. There is a quad with 4 RVs and a large fire pit in the middle with grass...NICE, mowed grass, which accommodates 16 rigs. Others are back-in, plus some other areas separated by a tree hedge for tents as well as more permanent looking rigs. A wonderful family run operation with the nicest 3 generation family you would EVER want to meet. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I would, however, probably never have opportunity because Kenai and Soldotna hold absolutely NO interest for me. If you are not here to fish in the river, I have no idea what you would do here for entertainment. Would love to move this campground to Denali and stay a month!! We camped at Diamond M Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed 3 nights in Diamond M Ranch Resort while touring Kenai and Soldotna. Their "supersize pull-thru" sites are wonderful, especially if you are traveling with other rigs. Four large rigs can share a grassy courtyard with tables and a large fire pit. On Saturday evening, the owners hosted a pot luck dinner on their observation deck. They provided 3 kinds of salmon for their guests. And, while on the observation deck we got a good look at a bald eagle nest with 2 eaglets that were being coaxed out of the nest by their parents. Caribou and moose can also be seen regularly from the deck. The sites are level, water pressure and electrical are some of the best we've experienced in Alaska, and most sites have a couple of sewer hookups, which makes it easy to hook up to the sewer no matter where your dumps are located on your rig. If you are into fishing, this is a great place to stay. The campground has two fish cleaning stations where you can clean your catch for dinner. Shopping is close by, in Kenai or Soldotna, and the area has several nice restaurants, service facilities, and a Walmart. We will stay here again, when in the area, just because of the wonderful owners and staff. We camped at Diamond M Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A Walmart super center is only about 5 miles away, as are restaurants, auto service facilities, sports retailers, and just about anything else you need. Salmon fishing is also nearby and is the primary draw to the area.

Good signage at road, but then a long dirt driveway to the office - all the way to the last section of the resort, it's not near the main road and the first set of campsites you come to when you arrive - signage to office was small when we got here, but over the course of a week, larger panels were added to signs to make them visible to those looking.
Campsites varied in sizes and services from spacious full hookups to buddy (read really close together) campsites to boondock camping in their pasture during the weeks of dip-net Salmon fishing on the Kenai.
The bathrooms and showers (en-suite style) were clean even with the campground totally full - great job staff!
Family run: parents, grandparents and children all do various chores around the campground and are very courteous to their guests. There are a few other staff members and they too have been pleasant to speak with. They offered weekly walking/hiking tours in the area, weekly campfires, potlucks, even tours of their farm/ranch - great for kiddos to see farm animals.
While their price is rather high, we stayed there during their peak season and wanted full amenities so we paid for what we wanted & got. We camped at Diamond M Ranch Resort in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Very busy during Salmon fishing time in July - go during their slower season for more room to move about - they take discount camping programs during their quieter camping season.

Our site was level side to side with no need to add leveling blocks. Front to back was minimal adjustment. The area sites are sand and gravel and when it rained it was messy. There were two places to shower. Those near the office were very clean with nice flooring. The other area had concrete floors that were wet and muddy. The Wi-Fi was very confusing. I was always being asked to login and when I did I was asked to login again. I gave it up and used AT&T. The check-in folks were friendly and concise in the briefing and we were led to our site. This is a very busy and full park during the last half of July. However, they also open a pasture area with no hook ups and park where you want option when the regular park gets full. Possibly I might stay again if required. We camped at Diamond M Ranch Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We actually ended up paying $130 for our tent, 2 cars and a boat. We were put in the middle of the llamas, cows, sheep and chickens. So were many others, it was very busy but really... no porta potties nearby. My husband had to go in a coffee can. But that should have been ok with them because there were piles of animal poop everywhere. Then you had to walk about 1/2 mile to the showers in mud and poop. I sure will not do that again. We camped at Diamond M Ranch Resort in a Tent.

I was disappointed. The area we were in was adjacent to the highway, in a four rig buddy site with a giant fire pit in the center. The sites were mostly gray dirt separated by large concrete highway dividers, giving it the feel of a truck stop. Lots of fire wood was available adjacent to a hulk of an abandoned two story building “yet to be completed”. The front area by the office is a little nicer. Very glad we didn’t stay longer. We camped at Diamond M Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

We were in this park during dip netting season and the stink was awful. Fish cleaning stations had fish guts hanging out of buckets, pools of bloody water. Trash was overflowing. Sites are sand and dirt. Staff is friendly, park very busy. Glad we were only there for 2 days. We camped at Diamond M Ranch Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A ton of activities provided. Owners are very involved and are eager to please. When it isn't raining it can get dusty. Wi-Fi was a big problem but they keep working on it. There is no cable TV, but if you have Dish Network, they have it available at the sites, as if it were cable. Although it was not our type of park, we would probably come back if in the area. A really wonderful experience! This is a multi-generational family operation run by really nice people. Sites are level, spacious, and easy to maneuver in and out of. The view of the Kenai River from the observation deck is a huge bonus. Rest rooms and showers (no charge) were among the best and cleanest we found on our trip. Diamond M Ranch is a family run campground that is equally close to the cities of Kenai as well as Soldotna. Friendliness as well as comradarie are this campgrounds main assets. They offer organized summer activities such as campfire socials, hiking excursions, and clam digging trips, as well as a fish cleaning station and freezer space for fish that you catch. They also have a community satellite dish for dishnetwork subscribers, and I understand they are working on direct tv as well. One plus is they will allow a person to wash their cars as well as rv as long as you conserve water, this is huge plus when traveling! The owners are currently working on the property, and it does not have the polish some campgrounds have, but if you are looking for an affordable place, especially on longer term stays, with a friendly atmosphere, then this park is worth looking into. We camped at Diamond M Ranch Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
