Fairly small park snuggled in the trees on a hill. Adjacent to state rec area with a lake and trails. Sites were pretty close but have seen much worse. Laundry is one washer and dryer. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Very disappointed in this park for the high price. The setting is pleasant, nicely wooded, but spaces are very tight. There is one toilet and one tiny though clean shower for the whole place. Check-in was fine, but no help available in the morning as the office didn't open till 1 p.m. Very pleasant to walk around and look down at the lake. Very difficult to enter and exit near a curve on the busy Glenn Highway. We wish we had driven the few miles back to Big Bear Campground on the Parks Highway--much better for much more reasonable price. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed 3 days while we visited Palmer, the Independence Mine, Etlukna and Thunderbird Falls. The park was pretty basic. There were pull-thrus and back-ins. Some pull-thrus might not have had a sewer. The hook-ups were fine, the site was relatively level, we had a picnic table. It was shady and it was convenient to all that we wanted to do in the area. It was a mix of monthlies and transients. Most of the sites were pretty close. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the Independence Mine Historic Site, take the tour and then hike up to the lake.

Also visit the Eklutna Historical area, hike up to Thunderbird Falls. Visited the Palmer Visitor Center and tour one of the Colony homes. Very interesting and complete. All of these sites are wonderful and I would recommend them to all. Lunch at Vagabond Blues in Palmer is absolutely delicious. We also had a baked 'treat.'

We pulled into the CG but the site were not ready for us. They offered another site but we did not see it was suitable.

We looked at the sites we were offered were very tight. The seasonal sites were cluttered and looked like a dump so we left. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground has "heart." Very friendly owner and personnel. Not a fancy campground, but if you need anything, they bend over backwards to try and accommodate you. They even have a massage therapist on staff and Crystal will melt away any stress you may have. The WiFi is extra, and better than most campgrounds. The sites had plenty of room for both our 40-ft Motorhome and our tow. They usually have a sandwich item available for lunch and something hot in the evenings at reasonable prices. Again, not a fancy campground, but very friendly and welcoming. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Eat at the Palmer City Ale House - great beer selection and better than average bar food. Feed the reindeer at the Reindeer Farm. Hike the Bodenburg Butte for amazing views.

We reserved a pull through which was just that, a true pull through but we could not get our camper level plus it was tight with trees so we found a back in site that was more level. Street noise is constant during the day and thank heavens it slows at night for sleeping otherwise we would be miserable. Spots are tight. We had a converted bus next to us that appeared to be parked there for quite a while, which leads me to my next statement. It was not your typical "vacation RV park" more like a RV park for longer term rentals. We were the only rentals that I could tell with others clearly set for the summer. There is a storage facility for your rig if you need it but it makes for a "dumpier" atmosphere. If you want to get a better view use the sites near the lake. We left each day for our day trips and returned at night so we didn't need the view sites. We ate dinner at the clubhouse the first night, cooked by a resident Hawaiian cooking authentic food -- strange but true but there is a large contingent of Hawaiians in Alaska. Propane is available for purchase which was convenient. Only one washer for the place and one bathroom. At least it was clean. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Hatcher Pass State Park is nearby. Must visit the Independence Mine or take a hike along the Gold Mint trail. If you are a light sleeper move your rig to the lakefront, it has to be quieter as we had constant road noise.

This campground was not one of the fanciest places we stayed, but we liked it for it's friendly, down home atmosphere. The owners were exceptionally helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate us. The fishing off the dock was fun. The Wi-Fi was down due to modem issues, but we found this one of the most relaxing places we have stayed at. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Truck Camper.

Very friendly staff. Traffic noises as park is very close to highway. Had a pull through spot close to an uphill drive to pull out of. Good for a central location to Palmer, Wasilla, and day trips to Anchorage. We stayed three days We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is next to busy road so constant noise. Only one bathroom & shower stall for whole camp. Wi-Fi did not work. We checked in and left within the hour, but staff was friendly. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Right at the junction of Parks & Glenn highways, this is a pleasant and very tidy CG. Laundry & showers are spotless. The staff was very helpful with tour info on the area. Lots of tall birch trees make for a scenic spot, but the sites are still plenty wide for slideouts. Mountains are visible on 2 sides. The only negative: there is steady road noise due to proximity to highways. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is too small and cramped, plus it is next to a busy, noisy highway. Good news is the park is clean and the lake is lovely. Unfortunately when we visited, there was a group occupying the limited lake access and it wasn't comfortable to intrude. The books give it good ratings, but I would skip it next time. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great park, friendly host, a little road noise at night, lake with row boats to hire short walk down the hill, lake stocked with fish would recommend this park. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very small RV park. All sites are gravel. There is a small fishing lake off of the campground. TV reception was with my rabbit ears and it was pretty good. My dish antenna would not work in Alaska. In Alaska the dish must be 30 inches across at a minimum I was told. WIFI in the park depended on how close you were parked to the office. The restrooms and showers were satisfactory. The staff were ok but not what I would call friendly. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
