The front desk was very accommodating and pleasant. The sites are very close but we were very happy to have full hookups for this price. It's not easy to find full hookups in Alaska and not for $36.00 so we stayed an extra day. The laundry room was clean and the equipment was good and not over priced. We only used the dryers (we have washer but not dryer in MH) and they worked great. Cell phone service was good and we were able to pick up several OTA stations on our tv. We enjoyed our stay. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is getting tougher for big rigs. It has always had narrow sites, and they have not been graded in years and the ruts are getting bigger so it is hard to level plus you tend to sink over your stay. The utilities work well, but sewer can be an uphill climb if the ruts you park in are deep. No cable, but you can get some of the Anchorage stations. Lots of junk around the park distract from the mountain beauty. Also, watch for large potholes at the entrance. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Greg-MTView, manager at Mountain View RV Park responded to this review

The sites we have are all grass, and wide/long enough to park 50ft rigs with awnings and slides with plenty of room to spare. As far as ruts go, we actually have no idea what your talking about and if people were sinking during their stay, there would be huge ruts that are frankly not there. The only thing we can think of, you didn't use a pad on your levelers which are a must have for grass lots. If you are used to gravel lots, then we can understand the confusion on "sinking" or having a hard time keeping level. Customers love the grass lots here, and would overwhelmingly hate it if we changed them to gravel for easier leveling without pads. We are also unaware of any ruts at the beginning of the driveway into the park, but we are heading up there right now to double check again, just in case.

Nice park with beautiful views of the mountains. The sites are all grass so pretty clean compared to the dirt and gravel sites that most of the Alaska RV parks have. Close to the town of Palmer. Laundry room was clean and reasonably priced. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

The visitors center in Palmer was very interesting and the demonstration garden there was beautiful. We have been looking for good Mexican food since we got to Alaska and we found it at La Fiesta in downtown Palmer!

Had a level, grass, pull through site. There was a picnic table. WI-FI was generally very good. AT&T works well. Gravel roads are wide and easy to navigate. There are no trees. Nine, over the air digital TV channels. Great view of the surrounding mountains. RV Park is about 4 miles out of town but it is very quiet. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great park with large pull thru sites. Owner very helpful and the view is to die for. Services worked well with 30 amp electric. Interior roads are gravel and are two lanes wide making for easy access to sites. Large fire pit in front of park with a covered shelter containing tables. Owner sells propane but told us it was cheaper at Fred Meyers. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is one of the nicest we've found in Alaska. Pull thru sites are level grass with full hook ups (30A) and about 60-65' long. Your neighbor is still too close with 12 feet between RVs. Most of the gravel interior roads are double wide making for easy back ins around the edge and easy in/out for pull thrus. We picked up major network TV channels over the air which is good since there is no cable and satellite won't work here. Laundry was big enough with $2 washers & $1.25 dryers. It took 2 cycles to fully dry clothes though. They sell propane but Fred Meyer sells it cheaper. Verizon had a good 3 bar voice plus LTE data signal. Park wifi was very slow during normal usage hours. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Palmer is a good size town with a large Fred Meyer & many other stores. Plus they maintain a lot of historic buildings pertaining to the first colonists to this area circa 1935.

This is a very nice park off the beaten path. Being outside of "downtown" Palmer, it is very peaceful and quiet. The owner was very helpful and it is clear he takes pride in his facility. Our grass site was quite level. Utilities were good overall. WiFi was very slow, but usable early in the morning. We were in a back-in site which was fairly close. Our view was totally blocked by the camper next door, but we had plenty of room to deploy our awning. Power water and sewer were at the back end of the site, but I'm in the habit of carrying additional hose and cord for just these kinds of situations. All in all this is a nice park. We would stay here again. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We have spent a week in this campground. We found it to be the nicest, cleanest campground we have seen since leaving the Lower 48. The restrooms and showers are combined, private rooms, and they are very clean and the owner works very hard to make this the best campground in the area. The sites are grass with gravel drives between rows. There are no trees, but the grounds are surrounded by trees, and the mountain views are fantastic. There are full hookup sites, sites with electricity and water, sites with only electricity and numerous tent sites. There are pull-through sites and back-ins. We will definitely return to this campground if we are in the area. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park off the beaten path. Pull through was pretty level and the people were very nice. Has nice mountain views and even saw a mother and baby moose near the entrance. Not to hard to find and not very far from town which all the services you could want. Easy to get in to your site and into the park. Very quiet at night. Would stay here again. Rate shown includes charge for 1 extra person. Site was a gravel pull-through and not level. Grass between the sites. One area near the road had all grass sites. Table was at site. No fire rings, but there was a big one near the office. All pull-throughs past the office were on a upward slope. All utilities worked fine. No cable TV, but around 10 channels off the air. Wi-Fi was very weak and slow. Bathrooms and laundry were clean, but dated and worn. I would consider another park next time if in the area. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

I went here because I read some good reviews online and a lot of bad ones but I never could have imagined what it was like! The owner was the rudest, most disgusting drunk I have ever met! He was loud and obnoxious and the facilities were filthy! Wreaked of feces and urine even in the laundry room! I didn't even stay, I had to get away from that horrible man; if you can call him that and away from the terrible facilities! I will not recommend anyone stay here. I found that a different campground near by was wonderful and clean will stay there again when I come back to Alaska next year! We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We found Mountain View RV Park at the right time on our long journey around Alaska; when we wanted a break from the hustle and bustle of driving everywhere, seeing everything with everyone. Mt. View is off the main road and is very quiet. Being able to sit back and listen to the winds blow through the trees while watching clouds cross the sky with mountains in the view is what I like.

Most of the season you get to pick your site, if you play your cards right you could end up with an empty lot next to you! Otherwise, yes, lots are close together, but then most of the folks we've seen come through are using this as a 1 night stop before pushing on the next day.

Roadways are gravel but sites are grass/gravel. Because the property is at the base of the mountains, there is a slope through the campground. Some sites might experience more of an issue than others, or because of popularity with overnighters, some sites have deeper wear grooves from tires so you may need to use a block to level.

One reason we chose Mt View was they offered Free showers. The bathrooms here are en suites - toilet, sink and shower in each room. Lots of Hot Water and good water pressure in the showers.

Most sites are FHU 30amp pull thru - permanent campers are in the back ins. Free WiFi - antenna is in main building so it doesn't reach to all areas of campground. Also if lots of people are using WiFi, it slows down. We were able to get good signal for our Verizon hotspot.

If you want to get the better views of the mountains, choose a campsite down closer to the office, but if you want fewer neighbors, take a site near the top of the hill on the far path. And if someone parks their rig next to yours and blocks you view of the mountain through the window, take your chair outside to enjoy.

Campground brochure says no a/c or heaters, but no one came by to tell us not to use our a/c on the hot days we were here - nor did they tell anyone else not to. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Mountain View is a pleasant, friendly park. The mountain view is indeed beautiful. The sites are fairly level on packed gravel. There's plenty of maneuvering room for big rigs - easy in and easy out. The managers are very friendly and laid back. We chose our own sites both times we were there. The Wi-Fi worked well and we had cell phone coverage but no satellite. I gave them a 9 instead of a 10 as there are a few areas in the park that could use some cleaning up. Otherwise a terrific place to stay for a couple of days with a large Fred Meyer grocery and some really good restaurants a few miles away. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.
