Sewart Military Resort is the nicest RV Park in Sewart unless you want to be on the water. Spaces are wide, level gravel. Utilities work well. Wi-fi is adequate, but cable TV was snowy. No sewer hookup, but dump station is close by. Great care is taken to keep the area clean and neat. Showers are clean and hot. Laundry room has 5 newer washers & driers. Cost is $1.25/load. There is a small bar and snack bar at the office. The only issue we ran into was the smell of rotten fish from someone who emptied their cooler close to the site. For fishermen there is adequate boat parking and a nice fish station. Office staff is very friendly and helpful. We camped at Seward Military Resort (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Aside from the incredible glacier tours, there is not alot to do/see in Stewart. Exit Glacier is a nice visit and there is a nice aquarium in town. It was also fun to go down to the marina in the afternoon to see the daily catch come in.

IMHO, Zudy's Cafe makes a great lunch. I would avoid Chattermark.

If you are eligible this is the place to stay. A little tight, no sewer (dump station) but 50 amp. Great young ladies at front dest. Scott, the manager does a great job. City schedule stops 3 times a day, but only a two block walk to the C of C where the bus stops every 30 minutes. We camped at Seward Military Resort (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

If eligible, great place to stay. Our site was generally level, but we did have to use leveling boards, though we might have shifted the RV a bit to and fro. Shady, gravel sites. Many support facilities. Excellent staff who can set up discounted excursions. We walked to and from the excellent downtown restaurants, but it's about 2 miles. Set back from the highway, so noise is not a factor. We camped at Seward Military Resort (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Went for the fishing and this worked perfectly. The things that keep it from being a 10 was that our site was not level, there were no trees and no fires allowed. The staff were great, the area and amenities VERY clean and the access easy. There is a walk-in deep freeze is available to store fish while at the resort and a great cleaning area. The charter crew were great and we got our limit on halibut and silver salmon. Highly recommend. We camped at Seward Military Resort (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Site rate is dependent on rank. This is one of our favorite places to stay. Always clean, always safe, always quiet. It is your typical gravel parking lot, but sites are wide and level. We've always had room for the slides and awning to be fully out. Bathrooms are always immaculate, and require a key-card to enter. Max stay 14 days, limited boat parking, only 3 tent sites. Speed bumps everywhere, which makes for a very safe environment for kids to play, ride bikes, etc. Tons of quiet residential streets for long walks with the dog. Seward is a quaint fishing village, but has every amenity you need - groceries, hardware, restaurants. Sea Life Center is great for the kids, as is Exit Glacier - which is even accessible with a jogging stroller. We camped at Seward Military Resort (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a campground opened to active/retired military & DoD Civilians and the rate is based on your grade. The facility offers discounts on fishing & scenic day tours out of Seward. The sites are very close together to say the least. When you reserve you are not assigned a site until you arrive HOWEVER when we arrived the site we received was too narrow to open our slides and we requested the wider vacant site 2 up from us. We were refused & told they were already taken. We stated their policy of assigning a site upon arrival but it seems a retired officer was leading a SMART tour and he was able to "cherry pick" the sites for his group prior to arrival. The woman at the desk said she had no control over this situation. We were given another site that was still tight but at least we were able to put our slides out. This campground was OK for 2 days. We camped at Seward Military Resort (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.
