As others have said this park is all about the view, if you are lucky enough to get an oceanside space or a third row space (third and fourth row are raised and look out over the first two rows). The view of Resurrection Bay and the mountains and glaciers is stunning. The park itself is a series of parking lots with gravel spaces marked out with white chalk lines. Not much character but it's all about the location. Only the center section has power and water; however, no sections have sewer. You have to go to the nearby dump station and fork over another $5. Fresh water is free. Not sure when they added 50 amp service but I was pleasantly surprised to find a 50 amp receptacle and breaker this trip. It's an easy walk to restaurants, the sea life museum, tourist attractions, etc. During the summer tourist months it is usually quite busy all week and on weekends it can be next to impossible to find a space; especially in mid August during the Seward silver salmon derby. We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Motorhome.

The Sea Life Center is worth the money. Glacier and whale and wildlife tours abound. Halibut and salmon charters are plentiful. Kayaking is popular here and rentals and lessons are easily arranged.

We loved the location of this park! The sites are pretty close together and just gravel, but it is right on Resurrection Bay and there is a bike/walk path right in front along the water. Each site has a large fire pit right out overlooking the water. We pulled straight in and had a beautiful view out our front window. It is within walking distance of the downtown area. We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Rays for dinner was great. The Major Marine Kenai Fjords all day trip was amazing, and the all you can eat salmon and prime rib lunch they served on board was delicious. There are nice shops downtown. This is a first come first serve park so if you don't get the site you like just watch for people to leave in the morning and put your tag and a chair in the spot to hold it until you can move your RV in. The Sealife center was worth the visit.

This is somewhat of a unique park. Not many towns I've visited dedicate practically the entire waterfront to a public RV park. Consequently the park is very convenient to downtown and the harbor area. Our gravel site was level and water and electric were good. WiFi worked exceptionally well. There are no sewer hookups in the utility sites, but there is a dump station near the north entrance to the park. The fee for dumping is $5 regardless of whether or not you are staying here. Be ready for the madness, particularly on weekends. This place gets to rockin'. We unfortunately were next to a very loud group of individuals, and quiet time doesn't begin until 2300 (11 pm). We very much enjoyed the town of Seward. Great place to visit. We would return here again, although next time I think we'll dry camp - Better value. We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Travel Trailer.

While in Seward be sure to avail yourself of one of the marine glacier tours available in town. I highly recommend Major Marine Tours. We took a six hour cruise with them, and it was wonderful. Great boat, great crew, great day!

Great waterfront sites. We were one row back, but still a great view. 30 amp electric and water, restrooms/shower close by. Level gravel site. Even though it seems really close, each site had room to park your unit and the tow next to it without being crowded in. We stayed 2 nights, would stay again. Close to everything !! We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Travel Trailer.

Ray's Waterfront restaurant is a great fine dining eatery without the need to dress up on the road. Reservations recommended. We got right in, others with no reservations were being told it would be an hour wait.

This was a very nice park. We were in section with hookups. Showers were pay so you had to have quarters or get change downtown. Within walking distance of town, harbor, Sealife Center. Could watch boats coming and going when they went out. It rained three out of four days while we were there. We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Motorhome.

We spent 2 nights in the park at the far end of the bay (near Idarod mile 1 marker). What a great spot! It was quiet and smaller than other areas of the park. People were fishing from the shore, Eagles and otters were seen. Seward is a cool place and if you can forego the hook ups for a few days, this is a nice place to do it. There is a free shuttle you can catch to get to the main part of town, too. Electronic registration, first come first served. We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Motorhome.

We were in the Resurrection section which has electric and water connections. Payment was by an automated pay station where cash or credit cards were accepted. The vehicle plate number (not the site number) must be input for proper registration. The other sections are dry sites. Our site was a gravel back-in and nowhere near level even after using all my boards. I did notice some sites next to the walking path looked fairly level. Some sites had tables, although ours did not. Electric and water worked fine. No sewer, but dump station nearby. Pay showers. No cable TV or Wi-Fi. Found a couple of off the air TV channels, but nothing local. Great view of the waterfront with cruise ships at the docks and snow covered mountains across the bay. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Motorhome.

This is the best campground in Seward if you are looking for a great view of Resurrection Bay and the surrounding mountains. It's a great place to watch the boats/cruise ships come and go. As for the campground itself, it's pretty typical of campgrounds in Alaska. Basically, it's a parking lot. We did not stay in the section with the electricity and water, so our cost was only $15. Some sites are a little tight, some are huge. Make sure you check the entire park before deciding on a site. Our site was very level. We did not have a picnic table, but did have a fire ring. We were on the hill and could see the bay perfectly even though there were two rows of campsites below us. The campground was very quiet despite the fact that most of the sites in our area were full. The city comes through and makes sure trash, tree limbs, etc. are picked up. Also, if you decide you want to change sites after you've paid, all you have to do is move, provided you registered with your license number. We would definitely stay here if we came to Seward again. We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the wild west! Not quite sure how we got our spot. I think we played musical chairs (trailers) faster than others. It was cheap, gravel, and had an amazing view of Resurrection Bay. Good place to hang out, stroll along the waterfront, and people watch. No mosquitoes or wildfire smoke! We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The cruise ships have ruined this town. It used to be so quaint, but seems to be turning into a tourist trap. That being said, I recommend the all day Wildlife watching and Glacier boat tour to Kenai Fijords National Park (3 whale species, 30 bird species, otters, seals) it was unbelievable. Restaurants that we tried were very expensive and not very good overall.

Views make the stay!! Can't get much closer to the water than in this Seward city campground. Sites vary widely in depth and width so make your choice with your particular equipment in mind. It was very tight getting our toad close enough to the coach to stay within the lines. Leveling can be a challenge depending on the site selected but there are no bad views. We stayed at Resurrection campground so we used water and electric both very satisfactory. We were there early in the season so noise was not an issue but could be expected to increase as the crowds arrive. Bring an electrical extension!! If you want to face the water many sites will require you to plug in AHEAD of your unit. Seward is delightful. We found the locals to be warm and welcoming but did I mention the views?? Spectacular! Great place to visit and a fine (but basic) campground. We would stay here again without question. We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Must do's: take a day cruise (6 hour was great). Hike to Exit glacier. Local micro brewery beer tasting. Walk the streets and enjoy the views! Just follow the paved bike / walking trail. Town center is no more than a 5 to 10 minute walk.

This is a first come first serve campground so if you are planning on using it during the summer good luck! We had reservations at another park and once we got to this park we cancelled our reservation (and had to pay the full price but we were much happier here). Park is walking, bike ride close to everything from the marina, grocery store, town, Sea Life Center, you name it. There are fire pits along the shoreline for your use, most campers stayed along the waterline. We parked closest to the street which had street noise. Not giving it a ten because it does not have a dump hookup at each site plus you have to pay $5 to use the dump station which is just 2 second away. You cannot beat the view of resurrection bay!!! We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Walking, Biking Distance to Sea Life Center a must see place, also take a Kenai Fjords Boat tour, it's worth the price. The captain knows right were to go for wildlife viewing. There is a brewhouse in town that serves local and Alaska brewed beer and wonderful food. Local bars are just that, local and can be dark -- no pub food at the two that we visited.

We pulled into a dry site in the Marathon portion of the park, right on the bay with mountains across the water. Just stunning. The bad news is that this park is close to the harbor so you hear the boats go out early in the AM and if a cruise ship came in during the night, you will awake to their broadcast announcements for their passengers. But, the view trumps all. We walked to town for meals and for our tours. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Motorhome.

Terraced sites where the front row is on the water. The pay system is via an electronic pay station. You just pay for a site, then you go find an open one. They only check license plates to see if someone has paid. You have a small tag that says the site is occupied and if you pull out during the day it is possible that your occupied tag suddenly disappears and someone else is in you site upon your return. When someone leaves on the front water row it creates a mess as everyone tries to get the spot. We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Motorhome.
