As stated by another reviewer, both parks in the city are owned and operated by the city. When cruise ships are in (almost always during our 3 days there) be ready to wake up at 5:00 AM to the sound of the train staging for the first run up the mountain. Train whistles and cruise ship announcements can be heard throughout the day. Very nice dry camping outside of town if you want peace and quiet. Clean and well kept campground. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Both this park and the Garden park are now owned by the City, so don't expect much but they do maintain the property. Larger rigs are best to be in the harbor parking lot behind the park (and you get good view of the ships and harbor). Not much to the park but you are right in downtown Skagway. Electric worked well. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is downtown Skagway - excellent location! Our site backed up on the city side of the park (other sites back up to harbor side), and we enjoyed talking to the people walking on the sidewalk back to their cruise ships. Easy walk and/or bike ride into town. Good wifi available only by purchasing an additional hotspot plan. Water and electric hookups at site; dump area in park. No picnic table provided. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Skagway is a fun town to visit! Walked to boat harbor and took day boat tour to Juneau - saw humpback whales and sea lions. Took camper on ferry over to Haines - a great experience! Loved every minute of our four day visit to Skagway.

We stayed 2 nights so we could shop. This is right in town near the dock area and there are lots of people from the cruise ships. Nice site, somewhat noisy from White Pass train. Nice tent area in center. Cooperative attendant. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

We read the reviews from previous campers and were hesitant about making reservations here. We had called the other campground in the area but they were full. So we decided to stay here. We are happy we did. The grounds were clean and bushes trimmed. The sites were spacious and very well maintained. They have a dump station and water & elec (30&50 amp). We went by the other campground listed in the area, and their sites were closer together and didn't look as spacious. Someone had posted the people coming off the cruise ships walk through the sites to get to town. This no longer happens since they have installed fencing. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We stayed in site 20. This park is about a block away from town which made it very accessible to shop. If we ever came back we would choose this park over the others listed even though no sewer hookups available. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

The campsite is right by the cruise ship docks and a block from downtown....registration was quick, but very impersonable..."Name...$40.00...your site is #". The washrooms and showers (coin operated) are absolutely filthy...the floors look like they haven't been swept or washed in weeks.....and NO internet...just a handout for "hotspot"locations....definitely not. Wort $40 US...we are from Yukon and will not recommend this campground to anyone! We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

The location is the best thing about this place. At the waterfront and near public parking and the ferry dock. The problem of cruise ship passengers cutting through has been addressed with fencing; and we didn't see anyone cut through. However, there is no reason for the poor upkeep. Nothing is mowed or kept up outside. The restrooms are tolerable but obviously unmaintained; dirty and full trash bins. Showers are pay. We had adequate power and water at our site. The manager was nice enough. Plenty of free public parking down by the waterfront. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Park was OK. It is near to shops, and near to the harbor. But there is NO Wifi (not free and not for money). I feel fooled because when we asked about the internet, he answered that free internet access is only in Skagway's library. There were dirty washrooms, and dirty toilets, (lots of spiders inside). It cost $1.25 to get 3 minutes of cold and then the last 2 minutes of hot water. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Imagine 4 cruise ships with 12,000+ passengers descending on a small town like Skagway and everyone of the passengers walking by your RV site to get from the ship to the shops. That's what you get on days that ships dock in Skagway. On the other hand, imagine a ghost town when no cruise ships are docked. That's what you also get. I would strongly suggest arranging your stay to coincide with days that have no cruise ships in port. This allows restaurants that aren't overcrowded; shops that have ample viewing space; and tourist facilities that don't require hours of waiting. The Pullen Creek RV CG is located only 2 blocks from town--the other CGs are 1/2 to a mile away. It is more convenient than the others; however it's proximity to the waterfront means having to use the sewer dump adjacent to the office--there are no individual dumps. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The location of this campground is quite charming if you know what you are getting into! It is packed onto a small peninsula between the cruise ship docks and the village of Skagway. While the cruise ships are in, there is foot traffic everywhere, so ample opportunity for people watching. There are many sites packed into a small space, yet it didn't quite feel as impersonal as many private campgrounds. Some sites had makeshift type picnic tables, but ours didn't, so be sure to travel with a table! The location is very convenient, as you can easily walk to Skagway and the train station. Our biggest disappointment with this campground was the lack of restroom facilities for the number of people camping here. We camped mid-week (with a reservation) and the campground was packed. We gave up trying to take a shower as there were so many people waiting; as a result of the high use, the facility always seemed quite untidy. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very noisy as trains travel on both sides of park and cruise ships dock just a couple of blocks away. Advantage is that this park is close to ferry terminal and 1 block from historic downtown. Sites were adequate for our vehicle but tight for anything longer. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Pick a harbor side lot. We had great views of the harbor and cruise ships coming and leaving Skagway with a mountain background. Sites have no sewer, 30 amp service with water. There is a dump station at the park. We were allowed to wash our rig and toad at our site. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were parked on the bay side parking lot. Had 30 amps and water. Had a awesome view of the fjords. Watched 4 cruise ships come and go daily. Very busy area and touristy. But that being said - we totally enjoyed the views and the activities in Skagway. We thought it was the best in town. Would stay again. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Metered Wi-Fi, expensive, and lousy. It is best to go to Library for it. The price is high for public park; especially, without sewer hookups. Close to harbor and cruise ships, but the view blocked by overgrown bushes. We camped at Pullen Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.
