A new campground, and the State Division of Parks & Outdoor Recreation really did it right. Well-separated RV campsites on a paved loop, with electrical hookups (no potable water or sewage). Great scenery on trails, well-maintained (it's new), quiet (well off the Parks Highway), not marshy, firewood bundles available, automated payment kiosk... just about perfect. The only small quibble was that the limited number of campsites filled up, and with no reservations you just have to trust your luck and show up early- even in the non-tourist season. The trails are well laid-out and marked, with gravel on the lower trails. We will be back, just not during tourist season. We spent the first night in the Day-Use parking lot dry-camping (no fire pit- $20) before we sniped a spot. We were lucky, as nobody else from the Day-Use lot (there were about 10 vehicles) got one. The campground was packed with Alaskan plates- I didn't see one rental. I can't imagine how it is during tourist season. I would shoot for this as a destination, but have a few backup plans, like the South Denali Overlook, Lower Troublesome Creek, Trapper Creek, or Talkeetna just to be safe. We camped at Denali State Park, K'esugi Ken Campground in a Motorhome.

K' esugi Ken state park, North of Talkeetna, Alaska This park is beautiful, it is located on mile 135.4 on Parks Highway A3 north of Talkeetna past Trapper Creek right side northbound. It is brand new, just opened May 28,2017. High up on a hill you will find paved interior roads with very large gravel sites, each site has 50 and 30 amp electric service , picnic tables and a large fire ring but no water. The fee was $30 per night. It is first come first serve. The park fills up on weekends, and gets a lot of overnighters that come in around during the week, so get here early during the week to get a site, lots of hiking in the area. Accepts cash and credit cards. Not all sites will fit a 43 foot RV but lots will especially the pull thrus. Worth the stop for a few days or more if you have the time. We camped at Denali State Park, K'esugi Ken Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Hiking 5 miles up the road is another state park with a lake easy 5 mile walk and also has camping with no services and very wooded, lots of other hiking in the area
