This is a pretty nice commercial park, but try to avoid sites 11-18 as they are very close together and right next to the highway. We had site #8, a pull-through and it was quite nice, wide and decently level. There is some road noise but at night the highway isn't very busy. There's a covered pavillion sort of in the center where you can have a fire and BBQ. Wi-fi coverage is pretty pathetic which seems to be the norm at most Alaska campgrounds. The people who own it seem quite nice and you can get fuel and propane, do your laundry and there's also a deli. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are tree lined which provides privacy. Staff very friendly and helpful. All services excellent but no cable tv available. The laundry room is complete with a large table for folding! There was a good bit of rain while we were here and we appreciated the gravel site that was level. They offer gasoline, propane, a small store and cafe on site. There is a covered area with tables and grills available to campers. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

15 miles to a grocery store. 30 miles to Talkeena. 148 miles to Denali Natioanl Park. On a clear day Denali can be seen 3 miles away from the campground on Petersville Road just past the 3mm.

This is a very pretty little park with lots of trees. It's right on the highway, but the road noise was not a problem. We wanted to be closer to Talkeetna, but after we stayed here we decided this was better because we just drove the car into Talkeetna, which is about 30 miles, instead of driving the RV all the way. When we leave we will already be on the road out! The sites are very long, level and have full hook ups even 50 amp which isn't that common in Alaska. We were even guided into our site by the wonderful camp host, Leroy. We really enjoyed our stay here! We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Talkeeta is very cute with lots of shops and restaurants. You will pass the Denali Brewery on the way and it is definitely worth a stop, especially if it's a Wednesday when the taco truck is there - great tacos!! The ranger station in town is worth a visit - it's where the climbers check in when they are going to climb Mt. Denali. We had lunch at the Denali Brewing Co restaurant the next day and had a great meal.

Overall Rating:

Our price reflects a no-hook-up site. We like this campground. The sites were level but, since out site was probably for a tent, it was a bit narrow for our 3-slide 35' RV. We had to pick and choose the right site for our RV. The campground host also helped us choose a site away for others so we could use our generator for a bit. However, that said, it was a good site, well off the road and quiet. No cable, no TV but then we weren't interested in those.
There is a central patio with bug zappers, picnic tables and barbecue pits. Very nice for anyone to use.
We enjoyed the nearness to Talkeetna where we went for one day. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Talkeetna Roadhouse for bakery goods and meals. The museum is quite good and the Ranger talk about climbing Denali was excellent. We also visited the airport, the National Park VC for the movie and information, the cemetery to see the unusual stones and the monument to those who died climbing Denali. Very fun.

$38 for full hookup, 30amp only, Good Sam discount brought it down to $34 a day. Gravel pads, and roads, tall trees for shade and well groomed, "NO" low hanging tree limbs. Big Rig friendly, not a big place or fancy either, but very nicely kept. Nice office, with everything you can want for camping and they sell gas and diesel. They have internet, but I did not try and use it, nor did I try the showers or restrooms. Nice outdoor BBQ area with grills for your use. I would stay here again. Great value, and very nice staff/owners. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good power and water. Sites are pretty level. Lots of trees for shade. All gravel as most of Alaska and Canada. Staff very nice and helpful. Not sure if they have WiFi. No Cable is the only negative thing. There is some noise from the road but do not think it will bother you. Quite in the camp ground. I would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice rustic place to stay. We stayed in a large pull-through with full hookups and 50 amp electric and lots of trees. Wi-Fi worked great. A nice stocked store with a cafe. Our $27 rate was Good Sam weekly rate. We would stay here again. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great place to stay. All the necessary features and sites in the shade. Rustic but well stocked convience store. Staff very friendly and helpful. WiFi actually works, unusual compared to other parks we stayed at on this trip. Sites are wooded and private. Campfires allowed. I would stay here again. Nice job to those owning and running this campground. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lots of trees. Sites were level, internet worked great. One of our favorites in Alaska. Talkeetna was a day trip from here. Great views of McKinley from the sandwhich shop. Dirt roads and sites. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We camped here for one night on our way to Denali NP. The people in the office and store were very friendly. The nightly sites are a little tight. We would recommend Trapper Creek RV Park to everyone. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy pull through sites although not too level and a bit tight with the trees close on both sides. There is no possibility of putting out the awning. Nice picnic area although rock band and karaoke on Friday night was a bit loud but it didn't go past 10.00 pm. We would return to this park. Very nice, clean campground. Actually looks like a campground, not an RV parking lot. There is reasonable space and lots of trees between the sites. Staff was very friendly. Only negatives are the traffic noise and the Wi-Fi does not work very well in the evening, but it does work adequately in the morning. However, we would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sites are not level, very narrow, and has trees between each site. Otherwise easy in, easy out and a good location for access to Talkeetna and Denali flight-seeing trips. Also a Denali viewpoint 20 miles to the north. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is OK for an overnight stay. The site was shaded but not level. The store next to the RV park, was very handy and served decent quicky meals. This park needs some TLC or it will not exist and that is a shame because it clearly has potential. No 50 amp was available for us, but 30 amp was. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
