We were in a Class A RV. Hook-ups were close and easy to reach. Water was clean and tasted good. Cable TV was adequate. No power surges and good consistent voltage. Owner operated park with very friendly and helpful staff. The owner was raised in Valdez so he is a wealth of local information. Owner helped us get situated in our spot. We would stay at Bayside again. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is an end-of-the road RV Park, next to the waterfront parking and storage lot. We were directed to our site and, when we got there, the site behind ours was not occupied so we "drove through." Mostly the interior sites are back-in, tail to tail, sites with full hook-ups, including Cable TV. The staff is friendly and helpful, very customer service oriented. This is a busy CG, reservations are not required but as busy as it is here, it would be a good idea. Short walk to town and the waterfront. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Make reservations for the Lu Lu Belle tour yacht cruise out to Columbia Glacier, and marine and wild life viewing. Depending on what marine and wildlife there is, then idling through the ice-berg bay, up to 1/4 mile from the glacier, the cruise takes 7 to 8 hours. Lunch is available on board. A visit to Solomon Creek Hatchery, especially when the salmon are running, see Sea Lions and Bear feeding on the spawning salmon.

This park was well kept. All stone everywhere. Owners were very friendly. Good location to everything in Valdez. Unfortunately, we had a lot of rain and our site seemed to be the wettest of all. Definitely would recommend Bayside. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Of the three RV parks in town this was the smallest and easiest to get around. They all are on gravel parking lots. It is owner managed, entire staff was friendly and helpful. Has a large common fireplace with a grill to cook on. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Motorhome.

We arrived in pouring rain with a tire going flat on our trailer. The owner called the one tire repair store in Valdez and informed us we could get it repaired the next morning and he would pump up the tire for us early. He helped us settle into a pull through site. The showers and restrooms were very clean and the location was convenient to restaurants, etc. in town. The owner did re-inflate the tire the next day and allowed us to return to the campground to finish our laundry and showers. The service that he provided couldn't have been better or kinder. The campground itself is just a large gravel area, but we could walk our dog along the bike/walking path across the main road, so that was convenient also. Thank you to the kind and helpful owners! We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Mid- September is when tourist facilities close down in Alaska. Fortunately this RV park was still open - closing the day after we left. We did find a restaurant open for dinner and breakfast - the Fat Mermaid - good food.

We stayed her for 6 days and enjoyed visiting Valdez. This park is basically a gravel parking lot but is well maintained, has flowers about and is very clean. They will escort you to your site and help direct you in. The owner lives right here so is attentive to the park. The sites are level and the hook-ups are easy to use but the sites are very close. The campground is within walking distance to the small boat harbor, the Safeway for shopping, the 2 museums in town and just about everything else. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Basically a gravel parking lot with full hookups. The folks are very helpful. Not only do they have full hookups, but also provide cable and propane.

We were here for three nights after we had been boondocking at Allison Park. I'd stay here again. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Clean-clean-clean. Level site - needed only lower the jacks. 20/30/50A. Water was best seen after 5 weeks on the road. Sewer at each site. Cable TV at each site. WiFi good signal - and actually had usable up-link bandwidth. Close to town - walking distance to grocery and restaurants. "Licensed" to feed eagles - what a show! These folks have built a VERY nice facility over the past few years (after purchasing a less-than-reputable business). Stop in and see them. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Three museums in town - all worth the look. Eagle-feeding at this RV park likely soon over for season (ending mid-June) due to salmon beginning to run. Watched 18 adults and 7 juveniles one evening.

We picked this park because it is right downtown. We do not have a car so we wanted to be able to walk to town. It is a large gravel parking lot and units are crammed in very close. But this is norm in Alaska. The people are very helpful and you can book charters and tours at the office. It is within walking distance of Safeway and has beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and waterfalls. Showers are clean and free. There is very little grass and that is hard on the dog. They have a big communal campfire every night. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Motorhome.

The sites are extremely close with awnings and back ends nearly touching. Unhitching is a must? I don't know where the "bayside" comes from, but there was a marshy area adjacent to the park, but the bay was some ways away. Very nice staff and the place was well run and quiet after 10. Sites are gravel and level. We enjoyed being so close to the harbor and the town, so could walk everywhere. Every other park in town had cramped sites, so there really isn't another choice. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We enjoyed visiting the harbor and the public fish cleaning area where we watched "master" men who cleaned and filleted everyone's catch. Also enjoyed the 1968 Earthquake Museum, the wonderful Whitney Museum, Valdez Glacier Lake, the Solomon Creek Forest Service Visitor center and the Fish Hatchery where the salmon were returning.

Not exactly sure of price since we were part of a prepaid caravan. Gravel lot and packed in like sardines - side by side and back to back. Walking distance to most everything in town and excellent wi-fi and cheap ice. CONS: very cramped, gravel, park packed with weekenders and fishing derby people - noisy, laundry $3 wash and $3 dry. We would look for something nicer if we were coming back. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at Bayside RV park for two weeks. The park is nice and big. There's no shade and it's essentially a large, gravel parking lot. The staff was friendly and helpful and kept everything clean and well cared for. The views of the mountains and bay are all amazing, complete with several waterfalls. We enjoyed our stay here and would revisit. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Motorhome.

We've been traveling in Alaska for the month of July and this is the best park we've visited. Good power, water, wifi worked well, and there are 41 channels of cable that all worked well. Our site was facing the bay and the view was very nice. They also allow you to wash your coach or car at no extra cost. The park is well withing walking distance to down town and the boat docks. Sites are fairly close together but the park is very quiet and well managed. We would stay here again. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good park. We were on the bay side so got to look out at the bay and mountains. Great water pressure and good electric. WiFi was good and good cable. Gravel roads. You are pretty close together but place is quite. They let you wash your car and Rv also which was nice. Cost was free. Nicest bathrooms and showers I've seen. Just a nice park. Would stay again. People working here are nice and helpful. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Motorhome.
