This is a nice campground right on the Willow River. There were a lot of people fishing and putting boats in the water right off the beach. Oddly enough the pull-through sites do not have sewer and aren't quite long enough to unhook and then have a place to park the truck. The sites share a common utility pole so you'll probably be facing your neighbor. There are numerous trees around the park and grass in playground, but no other landscaping in any of the front half of the park. There is a remote dry-camping section which is all trees and natural growth which had tent campers in it. The roads and sites are all large river rock which makes leveling a challenge. Our 41' 5th wheel was a little tight on the roads. Our Dish satellite didn't work, and they don't offer cable, but there were several digital air channels available. They offer free Wifi but we never could get it to let us log in. I guess there are restrooms in the main building but we never used them. They also have porta potties in a couple of places in the park. The train ran several times a day (one time was at 6:30 am) but ear plugs let us sleep just fine. We camped at Willow Creek Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Willow Creek is a typical Alaskan RV park. It is basically a rock and gravel pad next to a river with water and electric. There are a few sewer sites near the office but they always seem to be taken by long term residents. There are newer sites in the trees with grass but again just water and power. There is a dump station which several nearby parks don't even offer. The fishing is ok at times but the state regulations make the area in front of the park an on again off again affair. It closes for 3 days, opens for 3, etc. Read the regs before you fish. Weekends during salmon runs can get crazy. The infrastructure is getting a bit run down and repairs and upgrades don't seem to be getting done. Many of the electrical pedestals have outlets that are past being loose. They are scary. Water pressure can get low at peak times as well. Other than pop and a few fishing supplies don't count on finding anything to shop for. The on site deli snack bar closed years ago. The noise from the highway can get bad at times. Tame rabbits run loose around the property so dogs can get a bit frenzied. All in all it's not a bad place but for what you get it's pricey. We camped at Willow Creek Resort in a Motorhome.

A very pleasant RV park on Willow Creek. Because they got their WiFi repaired between when we talked to them and when we arrived, we were able to get a site overlooking Willow Creek away from the main building. Very quiet, peaceful and scenic. It had only water and electric at the site, which was enough - we dumped on the way out after 3 days. While most sites were in the Alaskan gravel parking lot style, ours was a back in with vegetation, between two cabins - the park was not crowded and we could choose our site. The gravel sites seemed OK, too. Owners/staff were friendly and helpful. Restrooms and showers were nice and clean. We would definitely stay there again. We camped at Willow Creek Resort in a Motorhome.

The facilities are excellent. They have showers, nice toilets and washer/dryer. The campsite locations are excellent and give you a great view of the creek. There is good fishing near the campground and great Thai food in Wasila. My only negative comment is that my three friends and i rented a pontoon boat to float the creek for $150 and two of us nearly drowned. The water current was fast and we encountered two spots where trees were obstructing our passage. The first spot we heard from the campground host later that a married couple got stranded at the same spot a month earlier. He told us about the first obstruction before we got in the boat but could not warn us properly because it is a 2 hour float and there are no signs to tell you where you are in the float. Luckily we were able to carefully move the boat past the tree. The second obstruction was a downed tree that the campground host said he did not know about. This tree was in a narrow part of the creek with a large amount of water running through it. Our boat got wedged against this free with us in the boat and water was about to flip out boat or push it with us on it under the tree. My waders began filling with water and I nearly got dragged under. My buddy was trapped on his back on a box with tree branches smashing his face as the boat got wedged beneath the tree and was either going to get rolled upside down or pass breath it. We survived by the boat submerging a little and padding under the tree as we held on to the pontoons in the water. Scary. Get a guide if you want to float this creek. It isn't a joke and the known hazards should be well marked in order to be easily avoided bc even the first tree could have killed someone less experience or someone who could not swim well and panicked. Nice, quiet campground. Clean restrooms, decent laundry. Place in a central lounge that you can go to catch up on news, etc. on TV. Coffee offered to guests in the morning (a nice touch). Restrooms close at 11 p.m. but there is a portal-potty on the grounds to use for emergencies. The location is wonderful, right next to a salmon stream. They offer fishing trips as well. Friendly, kind people. This park would be nice to stay at for a quiet visit. We camped at Willow Creek Resort in a Truck Camper.

Front of campground is a gravel parking lot offering full hookups or W/E only. Sites in front are close together, but allow enough room for sliders and awnings. Fire pits and picnic tables everywhere. Majority of front sites are pull-throughs, with enough room for big rigs to maneuver. If you want seclusion, ask for a dry camping site in the back. Lots of space, grass and trees back there. Very safe campground for kids to walk, play, ride bikes or snag one of the many humpies in the creek. Restrooms are always clean, staff is always helpful. We camped at Willow Creek Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park on the creek. Good fishing and friendly staff. I would have given it a 10 if it offered 50 amp electric and cable tv. We camped at Willow Creek Resort in a Motorhome.
