Some people complain about the double sites. They do look quite close to your "buddy". We got lucky and had one of the few single sites (66). They are adjacent to the restrooms. Our only negative was the frequent trains which do run through the night. However our 3 year old grandson loved the trains. We camped at Lake Louise Trailer Campground - Electric Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lake Louise and Moraine Lakes were very crowded. Parking filled up very early. We had our kayaks with us and skipped trying to launch on those and went to nearby Bow Lake and Emerald Lake instead. They were fantastic.

The RV spaces are crammed in extremely tightly. There is a wide pull through with electricity on each side so two rigs park right next to each other with virtually zero space in between. Our space was extremely inclined. By bad luck the trailer next to us was an old piece of junk. Train tracks run very close by and we had several trains each day. I would not stay here again.Lake Louise was a huge disappointment to us. Even in late September it was extremely crowded - so much so that traffic officers were assigned at all major intersections all day long. Access to Lake Louise and Lake Moraine was cut off for much of the day due to the parking lots being full. We were so disgusted we stayed only one night. We camped at Lake Louise Trailer Campground - Electric Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Travel Trailer.

Aug 1-2, Tuesday/Wednesday Lake Louise Trailer Campground, Banff National Park, Site 177, electric, bathhouses but no showers, Loops near the Bow River, $37 This is a Canadian National Park Campground two and half miles out of Lake Louise but right off route 1. There are two campgrounds here the Trailer Campground and Tent Campground for tenters and soft sided campers. The Tent Campground is surrounded by an electric fence to protect campers from bears. The Trailer Campground has long pull through sites with electric only and there are two campers in each space. The sites are located in the woods. The sites are fine but if two huge RV's are park next to each other it could be tough. There are bathhouses but no showers. Dump station and water available for the RV's. Trains do roll by during the day. The Bow River is next to the campground with trails through the woods to it. Nice trail along the river. No fires allowed in the trailer campground. There is a picnic table at each site. This is a great campground to stay to visit Banff especially the Lake Louise Area. It is open all year! Make reservations because they post full and a number of sites were vacant but they don't give them out. We camped at Lake Louise Trailer Campground - Electric Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This park was mobbed, so we had to leave at 7am to park at Lake Louise and find a spot good for our 25ft RV. Lake Louise has parking lots and the last one is for RV's and cars. Make sure you can get your RV out of the lot because some RV's were stuck.. We were there four hours and by nine every spot was filled and no more RV's were let in. This happened the day before, RV's were turned away all afternoon. We were turned away from another lake close by after we visited Lake Louise. Lake Louise is beautiful but there were clouds in the morning but by 9am the sun was out and they had cleared out.

Site was too small for our truck & fiver, but we had to pick a site when we reserved and how could we know? There were many sites much larger than ours. Park posted FULL everywhere but was not ever full in our 4 nights there. All sites are 2 rigs in opposite directions and power is on the opposite side of your rig. Why? We camped at Lake Louise Trailer Campground - Electric Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nothing has changed with this campground since my review of last year. It is still the most poorly laid out campground that I have ever stayed at, and with sites measuring 13 feet wide, it has some of narrowest sites I have encountered. As we are self-contained, I do not us campground showers, so forgot to mention in last year's review that there is only one shower building to serve the 189 campsites - just another example of how this campground is not designed to meet the needs of campers. There are 5 washrooms with flush toilets and hot water sinks scattered throughout the campground, but no dishwashing sinks. Another reviewer stated that fires are not allowed in the trailer campground. This is inaccurate. This summer because of the severe wildfires, there has been a ban on campfires, but normally fires are permitted at sites that have a fire pit. We camped at Lake Louise Trailer Campground - Electric Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

As this is prime bear country, keep your BBQ and any cooking related materials stored, including coolers, inside your RV, lest you return to your site and find them gone. Staff make frequent rounds both day and night and remove all food related items from sites if no occupants are present.

Campground was nice with plenty of room in the site for the big rig. Sites have two sites side by side which shared one pad and faced opposite directions. There are patches of woods in between the next two sites. Excellent hiking trails out to the Bow River toward the south end of the campground. No wi-fi but we didn't expect it anyway. Since we didn't book in advance we were only able to stay 2 nights since they were basically full all summer. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. Tips for other Campers:

Fairmont Lake Louise, of course! Whitehorn Bistro at the top of the gondola. Play the yard chess game at the base of the gondola (free). The gift shops at the Lake Louise gondola base were MUCH cheaper than anywhere else in Banff or Lake Louise with the same merchandise costing approx 30% less across the board. Hiking trails along the Bow River were very nice but be cautious for bears.

Can't remember what we prepaid back in February so I entered 1 dollar. Our site didn't have a firepit so if you would like one mention it at the time of booking. The park also supplies free wood. All sites are pull thrus. There is also a nice walking trail along the Bow River. The showers were clean although small with plastic shower curtains and only one hook for your clothes and towel. * site was level * 30amp electrical * no water * no sewer * all sites close to bow river & train tracks * back-to-back neighbors, facing opposite directions * grizzly reported 7/7/2017 in camp @ 100m * trains pass through regularly * public bear proof containers for trash * public restrooms and showers * clean showers had warm water * showers had small shelf & door hooks only I've been in better RV campgrounds but this was doable. The main draws are convenience of location, close to the river, close to the village (gasoline, shops), close to highway, close to road to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake (same road). These are reasons I would stay here again. Trains pass through regularly and were somewhat visible through the trees from our site. Obviously the loudest rumbling part is when the engines pass, after that its mostly background type noise. I heard it many times per night for a few nights in a row but for me I didn't feel that it kept me from sleeping well or feeling rested in the morning. My wife had trouble sleeping, my kids didn't even notice. The heat and humidity during our stay sucked more energy from me than anything else. Campground staff were friendly and helpful. Did not see grizzly. Next day I talked to campground staff who said they were tracking and following her until she crossed the river and wandered into a meadow. My understanding is she was about 100m (300ft) from our site on our side of the river... probably very close to a spot we stood on the banks of the river the day before. Not far enough for a bear which can run 35-40mph. I was strolling back from a shower when another camper warned me... the campground warden had made rounds but none of my family were warned, my kids were still outside our trailer playing. Always maintain awareness and always be vigilant about keeping all food and trash or other fragrant items locked in a hard sided vehicle with windows closed when in bear country. Keep loved ones safe! We camped at Lake Louise Trailer Campground - Electric Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Turn-off to Moraine Lake closed most of the time due to limited parking, go in the early morning (before 8am) or late evening for best chances at access. Hike from Lake Louise to Moraine Lake is approximately 5hrs.

Very nice park with lots of trees. The side-by-side layout is a bit odd but was fine for one night. We were there just to see Lake Louise and then leave. It was very crowded in the area. If you arrive into the area early, just go to the overflow parking south of the park. Plenty of room for RV's there. Nice spacing, looks like all sites are double. Bathrooms clean. We were lucky enough to be close to one. But not enough bathrooms. Water fill-up was a little harder to find. But plenty of trailers could fill up or dump at one time. 4 stations. We camped at Lake Louise Trailer Campground - Electric Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Travel Trailer.

Forest type park with electric hookup only. Sites are set up for 2 rigs side by side, a common pull-through, gravel access with table on each site. The space between each 2 rig site is quite large. No tents allowed in the trailer park but there is a section for tents only. Flush toilets are conveniently located throughout the park as are garbage disposals. Showers are in a centralized area and need to be driven to depending on your site location. Bears are present and Parks Canada will confiscate coolers, etc. If left unattended. No fire rings in parts of park. We camped at Lake Louise Trailer Campground - Electric Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground overall. There is electric at each site, but no water, so you have to fill your holding tank before getting to your site. If you are in the loop at the northern end of the campground, the CP Rail runs fairly close by and the trains do blow their horns. Scenery is beautiful, and there are several world class day trips to do from here. Lots of grizzlies around when we were there, but if you keep your site tidy you will not have any problem. Convenience store located in nearby Samson (strip) Mall in Lake Louise Village, where a bookstore, sporting goods store, ice cream/candy shop, and coffee shop are also found. Two gas stations are here as is a great visitor's center with limited diorama displays and small film theater.
