Nice provincial park 1.5 miles from the city center of Banff. Large sites in a wooded setting. Animals saunter through the park on a regular basis. The restrooms are okay. Usually flooded in the morning, but usable. Nice to have power, water, and sewer. A nice park in a great area. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground - Full Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.

$49.20 (includes sur-charge for registration). This campground was one of the finest government operated facilities we’ve stayed at. Well developed and maintained with full hook-ups at each site. Restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained, however, only had one shower stall in each restroom. Hiking trails were easily accessible and marked throughout the area with spectacular views of the mountains. The only negative we found with this campground was the online registration process was expensive and cumbersome. In addition to the nightly rate, you have to pay a National Park Entrance fee of approximately $20/day. Nice campground for short stays in the Banff area. Full hook-up pull-through sites are nice, with good shade and privacy. Not a lot of organized "activities" and "facilities", typical of the national park campgrounds. Definitely not a "full service" campground, so you will spend a fair bit of time in town. The campground is conveniently located to Banff and the Trans-Canada Hwy. It consists of 8 parallel roads with sites off both sides of the road. All services are adjacent to the road, so those on the North side have to turn around to orientate the RV to the services. Interior roads are paved and in good condition. Choose you site carefully, as they aren't all full service and some are double sites. We were in 322, which was large enough for our 41' 5'er. Services were conveniently located and of good quality. This site has no access to satellite signals from a roof top dish, but some in row 100 should see the satellites. The convenience to Banff and the Park is great, but being without Wi-Fi today is a challenge. If we return we will look at a Canadian hotspot. We thought this was a great place to camp for a week! Some earlier reviews complain about the parking layout but we liked it. Wide paved roads run down the aisles with RVs staggered well apart on either side. You can choose a full site (for larger RVs) or take a shared site where 2 smaller RVs pull into one site. Plan ahead with early reservations. Satellite access is iffy with all the trees and there's no wifi. We only found one place in town with free wifi--a small coffee shop. Rogers cell phone coverage was good. Only laundry mat we found was in town. We'll stay here again. Now that I've discovered Provincial Parks, I think I would pass this by, unless you need to hookup to charge batteries or dump. I would probably by-pass Banff as well - really a winter Ski resort town that says it's a 'National Park' in the summer but there is really nothing here. Travel up the Bow Valley Parkway; however, is Excellent! Laundry was mentioned, but it is $4 to wash and $4 to dry, fuel is good (cheaper) in Alberta than BC but groceries are pricy everywhere - you pay Resort prices - $7 gallon milk. Don't expect 'National Park' activities like in the States, this is different. See other reviews for parking and site details, but if you're self contained, look into Provincial Parks - if you'll fit! Stopped for 2 nights on our way to Alaska. The full hookup site was a nice pull-through, and the view each direction was amazing. Friends went out at dusk and saw elk. Don't drive through downtown to get there - very stressful. Don't get gas downtown - impossible to pull into and get out. If we went again we'd stay closer to Lake Louise, which is what we wanted to see anyway. Restrooms were central and an easy walk. Rain brought a beautiful rainbow. This is a nice campground convenient to downtown, and the sites are all pretty level and most are drive-through. However, it does have some sections that are not full hookup so make sure you know what you are signing up for when you get there! We would definitely return to this campground! First, note that the title of this park on this review site implies that all sites are full hookup. That is not the case. We camped here in our fifth wheel in an electric-only site. All of the sites near us were electric only. Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court is basically parallel parking with green space in between. Driver-side slides protrude into the street. We had to run the power cable under the RV and across the patio space. The grass around the picnic table was overgrown. We had to pick up debris left by previous campers. On the positive side, views from this campground of surrounding mountains are spectacular and unobstructed from some sites. Unfortunately for us, Village II was under renovation. We do not recommend this campground unless Village II is not available. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground - Full Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.

Some of the sites had amazing views. We were originally going to stay in Tunnel Mountain Village I, but we learned that the trailer court had full hookups, which we decided was important. Sites are clean, and you have a decent amount of space between your neighbours. Only a 5 minute drive to downtown Banff. There are numerous walking trails around the site, but make sure to bring your bear spray! We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground - Full Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Travel Trailer.

Great location and some sites have amazing views of the Rockies (ask staff which ones). Kids loved the wildlife and walks and the views were great. Early booking essential. Some shared sites require careful parking so aim for a single site. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground - Full Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice CG with an unusual layout; all the sites are along the interior roads. Technically they are all pull-throughs, but it's almost like the RVs are parked along the road. The design gives you a lot of privacy if your site is a single, but far less privacy if your site is a double in which you share a pedestal with another site. The real problem is that there is no simple way to tell if the site you are reserving is a single or a double since none of the site descriptions or maps available from Parks Canada directly tell you that. The best thing to do is pay careful attention to the site descriptions since only the ones labeled as suitable for trailers >35 feet are likely to be singles. As has been noted in other reviews, two-thirds of the CG is closed for renovation which makes reserving a spot difficult. But once you are settled at your site and you look out the Canadian Rockies that nestle the town of Banff, any other complaints you might have fade away. Of course there is no Wi-Fi and satellite is "iffy" depending on where the trees and mountains are relative to your site. I did see someone with a Shaw antenna, but those satellites are several degrees higher in the sky than are those for the US providers. I booked a specific site online. What the online system did not divulge to me was that it was a dual site with a single point for water, power and sewer. That meant that I had to lay out power and sewer lines under the rear of my unit. Fortunately my lines were long enough to accomplish this but it would be good to divulge at the time of booking. If I had known that they had both this type of site and single pull-through sites, I would have booked the latter We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground - Full Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.

We had site 746. The view out our front window was like someone had painted a picture. The view to the rear of our RV was gorgeous, too. We were even able to get satellite signal. The town of Banff has lots of shops & restaurants. There was only one gas station in town that sold diesal & we had to unhook to get in there. Unfortunately in addition to your campsite cost you have a reservation fee & you have to pay to get into the park. But it was worth it. I wished we had stayed longer. Breathtaking view from the campsite overlooking Tunnel Mountain and the Bow River Valley. Had elk, mule deer and Columbian Ground Squirrels in and coming through the campground. It was not real busy, so very quiet and comtemplative. Facilities are clean, well-kept. The staff at the registration station were very friendly and helpful. We recommend highly. Thanks, Banff National Park, for your great facility. It's great to be in Canada, eh? We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground - Full Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.
