Nice Park but the wifi charges are terrible. To use their wifi it will cost you $5 per day. We traveled across Canada this summer and only paid $1 per day at one campsite, all the others were FREE! You need to update your prices to nil. We camped at Calaway Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for four nights because there were no reservations available closer to Banff NP. Site was very off level (high at rear) and was very small for our truck and trailer. Lots of trash on the ground. Sewer hookup was on left side, water behind and electric was on right side. We were told we had a 15 amp site but the pedestal had an inverted 30 amp outlet. A tree was so close we could not use our awning. Staff was pleasant. Showers were coin op and were OK. Laundry was adequate. We camped at Calaway Park in a Travel Trailer.

Had a difficult time choosing an RV park close to downtown Calgary as they all seemed expensive and the reviews were not that great. This ended up being a decent park with smaller spaces and very close to your neighbors. They did have large grassy areas to play in. The park is attached to a large amusement park so it would be very convenient if you are planning to go there. It was about a 30 minute drive into downtown Calgary and the Winsport Olympic complex was just a few kilometers down the road. We passed the entrance to the RV park as there were no signs and it looked like it was only the entrance to the amusement park. It was very difficult to turn the big rig around and there were no entrances coming from the other direction which required another turn around in the RV dealer's parking lot cross the street, so make sure you turn into the amusement park to access the RV park. There was an extra charge for the highly restricted (basically e-mail usage only) Wi-Fi and the office did not guarantee its speed or coverage at the site. We would stay again if stopping through but would also consider another park. We camped at Calaway Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Recommend the Calgary Tower audio tour and having drinks/dinner at the Sky360 revolving restaurant. Visit the Winsport Olympic complex to view the ski jumps and bobsled course from the 1988 Calgary winter Olympics and even participate in a luge ride (roller sled on concrete track down the mountain), expensive bobsled ride, mountain biking or the zip line is also coming soon.

Convenient for people going to Calaway Amusement park as its joined to campground. No fires were allowed, no privacy, not any shade due to lack of trees. Easy to get into site, very close to others. We camped at Calaway Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a no frills park. The sites are hodge podge of services. Some have full service (30 amp only), others only have water/electric and some are dry camping. We stayed in the pull-through section and the site was not long enough to handle our 40 foot fifth wheel and truck. The truck had to be parked sideways and hang over into the roadway. The biggest issue with this park is how they laid out the connections. The water and electric are shared with two spaces. So one space has to have a lot of hose and cord and it has to go under or around their rig to get to the connection. Each has a sewer connection in the back on the side you need it, but it is at the back of the space and, for us, was going uphill. Roads are dirt/gravel as are the spaces. They are fairly close together with grass in between. With all the land they have they could have done a much better job with spacing and layout of connections. It worked well for our visit during the Stampede, especially since they have a shuttle ($10) directly to the park. You are bit away from the city. The Calaway Amusement park is part of the property so I assume the park is mainly occupied during the Stampede and on weekends during the summer for those going to the amusement park. Otherwise not much reason to stay here. We camped at Calaway Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here 3 years ago & it was bad then. But I always believe in 2nd chances! So we made the mistake of staying again. First problem - we located our site & it had garbage strewn through it. So we moved several sites up & told the girl at the office. I also took photos of the garbage throughout the park, the unmowed lawn, the dirt. The girl at the office told me she'd heard it all before from campers & had told management. Apparently they opted to ignore the issues!

Further problems - hookups are awkward & impossible to connect to. We had to back our 44' motorhome up, connect to sewer, dump, disconnect, & pull forward in order to connect to water & power. I also took photos of the ridiculous & nearly-impossible connections! Every other RV park we've ever stayed in (& we have spent almost 2 years solid on the road now) has the hookups conveniently located at the side. This park has the sewer at the rear of the RV, water at the far left, power on the other side.

That was their 2nd chance. I'll tell anyone who'll listen to NEVER set foot in this park! It's filthy, unkempt, disorganized & overpriced. We camped at Calaway Park in a Motorhome.

We usually stay at Calaway campground when we travel through Calgary. It is clean and easy to access off of hwy 1. Staff is friendly and helpful. Check in isn't until 1 pm, so if you're wanting to go to Calaway park, you have to park in the parking lot and wait till then. We had reserved a site, so it wasn't really an issue. We weren't allowed early check in (we tried). Biggest downfalls are a) showers are not included with the camping fees. They are 2.00 for 5 mins and b) there is no playground or activities for children. A play area would be a good addition. That is the reason for the 8 rating, otherwise it would be higher. Good camping overall. We camped at Calaway Park in a Travel Trailer.

Located next to water park, if you have children they would probably love it. Park was clean, new laundry and restroom facilities. Sites are basic gravel and not very level and had poor drainage. We had a thunder storm and our site was flooded. Stayed to see Calgary Stampede. Park provided shuttle service to and from Stampede twice daily. We camped at Calaway Park in a Motorhome.

This park has clearly been designed by someone who has never owned / used / seen an RV! Hookups were spaced apart so poorly that we had to go to an RV supply store to buy longer connections for water & power! We never even tried to hook up to sewer. That was a nightmare itself, as it runs uphill! The only positive I can see about this park is the proximity of the amusement park. If you don't have little kids, pick somewhere else to stay! Most RV parks are throwing in wi-fi for free. Callaway charges a ridiculous $10 / day for internet access. The other thing is they are less than accommodating when it comes to moving sites. We had opted to move from a partial-service site to full-service where there were lots of open sites; in fact, the one they put us in hours later was vacant when we wanted to move. Instead, they had us drive down to the amusement park's overflow parking & wait til 2 PM! It was inconvenient for us, and from what we could see, completely unnecessary. Would we stay here again? Only if there wasn't another RV park or Walmart in the area! And there usually is. In other words, no, we wouldn't stay here again. Nor would we recommend it to friends. We camped at Calaway Park in a Motorhome.

The real advantage of this RV park is the combination deal of Amusement park passes, meal vouchers and RV park rental. There is one side of the park which has a few trees, whereas the area we had was in an open field with quite a slope toward the west. It rained/ and then hailed while we were here and this explains the slopes at calgary RV parks, so that the water leaves quickly. As Campgrounds go, it is pretty poor, however as a RV park it is ok and the Park deal is the reason you would stay at the park. We camped at Calaway Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in this CG this June. It is great for kids since it is in the Calaway Park grounds. The other side benefit was that there were lots of other kids for our kids to make friends with. There are a couple of open areas for the kids to play, that are very visible from nearly all sites. The downside is the actual sites. The size, slope and location of services are all issues. The sites are quite small. They are usually long enough. We had room for our 45' MH and tow vehicle. The widths are narrow though. Nearly every site has a significant slope. Either front to back or side to side. The services are the most frustrating though. The services are in the middle of two sites, so you share the post. It's not too bad if you get one on the convential side (left), but the other half of the sites of course will put you on the right side. This along with the fact that the posts are at the beginning of the lot mean that you have to stretch out a lot of cable and hose to reach. Even longer if you are parked on the wrong side of the services. We originally had that happen, but requested a different site (the next one over). After a bit of groaning from the folks running it, they agreed to allow us to park in the next site over. We camped at Calaway Park in a Motorhome.

A poor excuse for a campground. It is nothing but a large, open field. It's only saving grace is that it is right beside Callaway Amusement Park. There are no fires allowed. The wind will carry away poorly secured items. The store is run by Callaway employees, which means that there are 16 year old kids looking after the place. There is Wi-Fi, but no one working at the office, you need the password. The washrooms were cleaned once a day, and were disgusting. We camped at Calaway Park in a Travel Trailer.
