This is a beautifully wooded private RV park located about 10 minutes from the Eastern Jasper National Park gate off of Highway 16. The park sits between the main Highway and a mountain so the further back in the park the site the more slope there is to contend with. Our wooded, gravel and hard packed dirt site was exceptionally long and reasonably wide. We parked to the front of the site in order to make leveling easier. Utilities were easily reached and worked well. There were no OTA television stations. My Verizon data and cell service on roaming worked well. The park internet was spotty. There are numerous walking trails around the park which remained fairly dry even with several days of rain. Bath houses and trash bins are conveniently placed over the entire area. The common areas were clean and neat. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly. The town of Hinton is about a 10-minute Drive East and has fuel, groceries and stores. such as Walmart. The drive into the town of Jasper and many of the scenic points of the park are about an hour away. We would definitely stay here again if we could not obtain a site in the National Park campgrounds. We camped at Jasper Gates Resort and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Icefield center is about a two-hour plus Drive from the park. It would be quicker to access it from Banff Park if you are going there. The brewery next door had acceptable food but nothing special. It has an interesting beer two sample.

This park is in a beautiful area. Our site was not level at all. We used every leveling block we had along with what ever else we could find and still couldn't get level. They really need to level the sites. It seems to be a complaint among all the guests I talked with. Water pressure was bad. We ended up just using our on board water and pump. Our site had about 25psi for water pressure. The staff is friendly and were even helping folks get their coaches level by bringing wood to them to stack. No laundry and the wifi is not great if you are into wifi. No cable or over the air channels. The office has food and snacks and a large selection of movies you can rent if you want something to watch. Careful navigating around if you are in a big rig. Pretty narrow site and we caught a tree trying to get in. We are 41 foot. We camped at Jasper Gates Resort and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Folding Mountain brewery is right next door to the park. Great place to go after you spend forever trying to get your rig level. Great food and beer. Lots of sight seeing around Jasper. Waterfalls, ice fields, boat tours, etc.

Rate is in Can $. The sites are not level. We ended up parking at the end of our pull through site and using every leveling block we had to get near level. I'd stay here again but only for a night. Sites are narrow. The campground is right next to the highway so try to get a site further back. There's a noisy little brook flowing through and although it's quaint, I wouldn't camp next to it. We camped at Jasper Gates Resort and RV Park in a Motorhome.

We updated our GPS a week before our trip and it would not pick up this park. We placed 3 phone calls over a 3 hour time span to the park for directions and were within minutes of the place when they called back. However once we reached the park they were friendly. It is on a slight hill so it is hard to level your rig. It was quiet and very clean. I would have given a higher rating had they returned my phone calls in a timely manner. We camped at Jasper Gates Resort and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We took a night wildlife tour from Sundog Tours. It was great. We also took a tour of the Columbia Ice Fields with Brewster Tours which included a walk on the Athabasca Glacier and a hot meal and a walk on the Skywalk. I would recommend both tours.

Overall Rating:

The sites were quite close together but were clearly marked and with clear markers and fences between sites, you did feel like you had your own space. The facilities were very good quality, mostly very modern and clean. I was pleasantly surprised. I couldn't get into the National Park, but this was a reasonable alternative. It is not too far from the park and close to Hinton. There was a small shop on the grounds. The quality of the firewood they were selling was excellent. We camped at Jasper Gates Resort and RV Park in a Motorhome.

The roads are tight for a large rig, but manageable. Sites were large enough but there was a terrible smell from the sewer hookup beside our site. We camped at Jasper Gates Resort and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is spotless, quiet, and the staff were just super friendly. Our stay was delightful as it has a small running brook running beside the site. There are two hot tubs and a delightful facility with a treadmill and exercise bike. Definitely recommend this rv park.

The rate was CDA$42 per night. We camped at Jasper Gates Resort and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

On arrival (even though it was posted open from 9 am to 5 pm) I had to phone staff to check-in. There didn't appear to many other campers staying the night. Most of the full hookup sites appeared to be pull-throughs. Our site was long enough for a big rig and toad, fairly level (other sites weren't), good spacing with trees and grass between sites, and included a picnic table and fire ring. The utilities were well placed and all worked fine. Park advertises Wi-Fi, but no connection from our site. No cable or OTA TV and satellite might be a problem with all those trees. Looked like a recently renovated restroom and shower building. Never used any of the facilities so can't comment on them. For an overnight stay we would stay here again. We camped at Jasper Gates Resort and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice little RV Park overall. Several improvements have been made, but there is still room for more. Sites are difficult to get level in and roads could use some more gravel or paving to improve cleanliness. We camped at Jasper Gates Resort and RV Park in a Motorhome.

A very beautiful campground nestled in the trees and only 17 km from the nearest town of Hinton. Sites are long and can accommodate 40 ft plus RV's with trailers. However, not all sites are level. We had to use our blocks, and we still had a noticeable slant inside. The branches over our site caused us to have to back out of our pull through. There is a building for campers called the Bear Den where you can have a fire going. It has couches, tables and chairs, and a treadmill and a bike for exercising. This is included in your camp fee and open 24 hours. Internet connectivity we were told is very good in that building. They have lots of cabin rentals. I looked in the window of a few and they were really nice. Separate bathroom with showers, small kitchen, tables and chairs, king sized beds, and some had couches. There were places for kids to play, and a field for a family football, soccer, or softball game. Restrooms, showers, and laundry are available, but we didn't use them. The camp store is clean and spacious and sells a few basic camping supplies, offers DVD rentals, and has a warm fire and coffee to greet you. Camp staff is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We camped at Jasper Gates Resort and RV Park in a Motorhome.
