A small, family-owned and operated park with friendly, accommodating service. They shuffled several rentals around to provide a site for us on the nights we needed, then did it again when we extended our stay. Accompanied to site with help to get backed in and set up. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We were pleasantly surprised how nicely landscaped this little park is maintained. There is a nice cactus garden with benches and a picnic table. Thhe manager / owner is very pleasant and helpful. He provided a map of Ajo and what to see and do there. He even marked the places on the map and gave specific directions. The site we had was a drive thru although I think it was just because the site next to us was empty and we were able to drive thru that one to turn around in the empty lot and drive into ours. Unfortunately the weather was pretty nasty the two days we stayed here so we did not do much exploring. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Called and made a reservation several months ahead of time as we were visiting in the high season. Park was full during our stay with the section of pull thrus we were assigned to being the only area that people came and went from. Asked to pay by check or cash on arrival. With Good Sam discount rate was $31.50 a night. This is a beautiful, well maintained small campground. We were greeted by the owner and given a map as well as a recommendation of things to do in the area and information on shopping, etc. Full hookups and good Verizon service. No problems with our roof mounted satellite dish. We checked out all the other options for camping in and around town - everything from boon docking in the BLM area to other commercial campgrounds and we feel this is the best bet in town. Would definitely recommend it! We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't miss a visit to the historic museum in town - the staff at Ajo Heights will give you directions. The plaza in town is also worth a walk around. Short drive out to Organ Pipe National Monument, we packed a lunch and spent all day out there on the scenic backroads!

Based on our driving around Ajo, this is the best RV park in town. The campground is very clean and nicely landscaped, with a cactus garden and clean colored gravel around the sites. Wifi was fast and dependable. On the negative side, sites were narrow and there's no patio area with table. We will stay here again. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is awesome. The owners are just perfect. The folks who stay here all winter invite all campers to join their 3 t0 5 gathering everyday. Just a group of great people. The park is immaculate and extremely well kept. We stayed here in a 40' motorhome. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.

We felt we scored big by finding this small jewel of a RV park.

The grounds are native plant landscaped throughout and it has a native plant garden. The owners were extremely friendly and gave tourist suggestions. Sites were well laid out and easy to access. Would love to stay in it again. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We liked this park! Ajo is a pretty small town but there are many things to see and do. We planned to stay 2, but ended up adding a day. Our site was up on a small hill, level, with plenty of space, backed up to nice desert scenery. It is easy to maneuver in and out and hook ups are adequate. The longer term residents were exceptionally friendly. There is a place to walk the dog and a nice cactus garden. We would stay at Ajo Heights RV Park again. Tips for other Campers:

The retired copper mine and museum are worth a visit. There is a scenic loop drive near town. Organ Pipe Cactus Monument is beautiful. Definitely stop at the visitors center and pick up a booklet guide to drive one of the back roads.

We stayed at Ajo Heights RV Park for 5 nights during our stay at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. This small park is very well kept. The bathrooms and laundry are in the rec building, and the park manager lives in the floor above. Bathrooms and laundry are very clean, and laundry was a bargain at $1/washer and 75 cents/dryer. Sites are back-in, gravel, and level. A bit closer to my neighbors than we prefer, but not unreasonably small. There is a grocery store across the street. It is a 35 mile drive to Organ Pipes Cactus. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Can an RV park be perfect? I didn't think so, but this one was for us. The set up to the park was great, big sites, concrete patios, no one behind you, lovely desert landscaping and carefully maintained gravel in two colors. Just across the street was Olson's grocery, which was SO convenient. There is open desert out back to walk (with or without dogs) and sidewalks all the way into town (2 miles ?). Beautiful mountains all around and suharos. We also loved the town and the area. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Cabeza Prieta has great programs every month. The farmers market and craft show combine once a month in the plaza. Organ Pipe National Monument has a lot to offer and on the way eat at Grammy's in Why.

This was a lovely little campground. We were here in late April and literally were the only ones in the campground (they close April 30 for the season). Payment by check or cash only. Gravel sites with a concrete patio. Nice landscaping. The sites looked a little close to each other, but it was hard to tell because there were no other RVs in the place. We had our mail and some Amazon packages delivered here with no issues. Cell phone reception was excellent. WiFi was screaming fast, but that could be because we had no competition for it. Cable TV is digital with lots of channels. If you have an older analog TV with a convertor box, you won't be able use it. No over-the-air TV stations. Very nice owners. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very, very helpful on the phone for these "wayfaring strangers". Park landscaping is amazing, wonderfully designed and maintained - full of birds, too! Our site was front row on street, a bit of road noise but once we closed up for a cool February evening, no problem sleeping. Stayed 2 nights; great shower in the a.m. (we camped in a 14 ft. FunFinder, so park bathhouse was much appreciated); spur of the moment trip to rendezvous with family; host very helpful. Call ahead in Jan. & Feb. this part of AZ is full! We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Located right across the 2-lane road, from local grocery (IGA) & large Chevron for fuel. Downtown plaza area interesting. Large retired copper mine, just south of town - we did not go see - looks interesting.

Check-in the old fashioned way. No computer, just sticky notes on a large board! And it works just fine! No credit cards for payment, only cash or personal check. All (gravel) sites are level and have an average width. Beautiful, well maintained campground with nice landscaping and desert garden. Two restrooms with shower in main building, closed at night. Cable worked fine. Perfect fast Wi-Fi internet connection. Owner is a camper himself, so knows what guests are looking for! We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
