What I look for in a campground is some place I don't have problems getting in or out of, with at least reasonably sized sites, good utilities that are placed so I don't need my spare hoses and cord, and is clean and quiet. This park has all that but so do many others. Where this one really stands out is the landscaping - a lot of thought and work went into it. Makes for a super nice place to stay. There is some shade at some sites some times, but it is the desert. WiFi worked for us but the park was pretty much empty, don't know what it would be like if full. Verizon signal not as good as in town but was OK. I didn't see any pull-thrus unless the lot next door is used somehow but I didn't need one so didn't ask. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.

What a pleasant RV park this is! Nice, wide roads. Big spaces. Even though it is on the highway it was very quiet and dark. One evening a coyote strolled past our coach. Fun to see but a reminder that we were in the desert and the dog shouldn't be left outside unattended! We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Ajo is a very unique and interesting little town and a good place to use as a base to visit Organ Pipe Nat'l Monument and the old Copper Mine. The man who runs the Museum is delightful. Full of history and stories.

Nice little park that made a good base camp for visiting Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. Everything looked immaculately cared for. Sites were typical Arizona gravel, but they had plantings along the back, including some trees for a little shade. Very easy to get in and out of sites due to the wide roads. There is also a cactus garden in a low area of the park. Owner was very nice at checkin. If there is nobody in the booth when you come in, there is a doorbell button next to the door that will call them from the house. Hookups were fine, and we had good Verizon cell and internet service. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice clean park. Sites are close together but each site has small cement patio but no table. Small gravel rocks for parking. Was easy to level. Town is unique and a bit larger than expected. Some historic buildings. Greeted by friendly staff and was given ideas on what to do. We are planning on visiting the Organ Pipe Cactus Monument which is close by. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One night stay in a 40' (approx) pull-thru site at this immaculate bi-level park. Firmly compacted gravel roads and pads; concrete patio at each site; many spaces separated by cactus and small trees for filtered privacy/views. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice small park...33 sites. Most sites occupied by seasonal campers...nice group. Backs up to BLM land, small park, rec room and laundry. Clean and neat. Reserve with credit card but only accept payment by cash or check. Would stay here again. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Ajo has outdoor activities - especially at Organ Pipe Cactus National Park...take the Ajo Mountain Loop for a 21 mile drive thru amazing landscape. Grocery and hardware store across street from RV park. Town is fun to meander thru as a copper mining town. Mine is huge to see, too.

We decided to stay here for 10 days based on the reviews from others, and we were not at all disappointed. The park owners are very friendly and accommodating, and they keep their park clean and well maintained. The park has lots of open space, making it feel not crowded, and all the utilities worked well. Dog walking areas were good. There is also a large grocery and hardware store just across the road with video rentals. Verizon service is excellent. In glimpsing at the other parks in the area, we agree that this is the best one for the reasons above and the other comments we made. We would definitely stay here again should we come back to this area. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Based on our driving around Ajo, this is the best RV park in town. The campground is very clean and nicely landscaped, with a cactus garden and clean colored gravel around the sites. Wifi was fast and dependable. On the negative side, sites were narrow and there's no patio area with table. We will stay here again. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Called and made a reservation several months ahead of time as we were visiting in the high season. Park was full during our stay with the section of pull thrus we were assigned to being the only area that people came and went from. Asked to pay by check or cash on arrival. With Good Sam discount rate was $31.50 a night. This is a beautiful, well maintained small campground. We were greeted by the owner and given a map as well as a recommendation of things to do in the area and information on shopping, etc. Full hookups and good Verizon service. No problems with our roof mounted satellite dish. We checked out all the other options for camping in and around town - everything from boon docking in the BLM area to other commercial campgrounds and we feel this is the best bet in town. Would definitely recommend it! We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Don't miss a visit to the historic museum in town - the staff at Ajo Heights will give you directions. The plaza in town is also worth a walk around. Short drive out to Organ Pipe National Monument, we packed a lunch and spent all day out there on the scenic backroads!

We were pleasantly surprised how nicely landscaped this little park is maintained. There is a nice cactus garden with benches and a picnic table. Thhe manager / owner is very pleasant and helpful. He provided a map of Ajo and what to see and do there. He even marked the places on the map and gave specific directions. The site we had was a drive thru although I think it was just because the site next to us was empty and we were able to drive thru that one to turn around in the empty lot and drive into ours. Unfortunately the weather was pretty nasty the two days we stayed here so we did not do much exploring. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A small, family-owned and operated park with friendly, accommodating service. They shuffled several rentals around to provide a site for us on the nights we needed, then did it again when we extended our stay. Accompanied to site with help to get backed in and set up. We felt we scored big by finding this small jewel of a RV park.

The grounds are native plant landscaped throughout and it has a native plant garden. The owners were extremely friendly and gave tourist suggestions. Sites were well laid out and easy to access. Would love to stay in it again. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We liked this park! Ajo is a pretty small town but there are many things to see and do. We planned to stay 2, but ended up adding a day. Our site was up on a small hill, level, with plenty of space, backed up to nice desert scenery. It is easy to maneuver in and out and hook ups are adequate. The longer term residents were exceptionally friendly. There is a place to walk the dog and a nice cactus garden. We would stay at Ajo Heights RV Park again. The retired copper mine and museum are worth a visit. There is a scenic loop drive near town. Organ Pipe Cactus Monument is beautiful. Definitely stop at the visitors center and pick up a booklet guide to drive one of the back roads.
