This is absolutely the cleanest RV Park I've seen in over 40 years of RVing. When we came in there was a worker sweeping rocks off the paved access roads and back onto the sites. Another worker was power sanding and refinishing the picnic tables. All roads are paved and excellent. Some sites also had paved parking pads. The rest were gravel, as were the sites themselves. Power and water were good. Cable was a bit limited and only Standard Definition. Wi-Fi was fast and strong but the park was only 10% full. Don't know how it would work with a full park. Staff was friendly and helpful. We attended the observatory program one evening and it was excellent and entertaining. Safeway, Ace Hardware, and several good restaurants were in walking distance. Wal-Mart was a block away. No highway noise but a busy train track was close. Train horn was noticeable until we removed our hearing aids. Most sites had some shade part of the day. Plenty of room but during busy times, one would have to unhook the toad. Pool, hot tub, and restrooms were very clean. Dogs runs were fenced but rock. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Benson is higher and 10 to 20 degrees cooler than Phoenix. Evenings were super. Tombstone is about 25 miles and worth the trip. A mining town, Bisbee is about 25 miles beyond Tombstone. Don't forget to attend the observatory program, weather permitting.

We stayed here overnight, and had an outstanding time. Staff are super-friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Park is spotlessly clean, and so is pool and hot tub (both of which we enjoyed). WiFi service included and was excellent; parking pads are asphalt and level. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very close to Kartchner Caverns, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The drive is about 20 minutes away, and the guided tour about an hour and a half long. Well worth the trip!!! VERY happy to recommend this park.

Very nice park with a few full time 'Park Model' homes. Very well kept; the property and the facilities. This time of year it's very empty but I was told in the winter months it's full and they do not take the PA discounts. I was going to stay here 1 night, but liked it so much I stayed 3. A fellow camper enjoyed the Observatory and presentation so I am going tonight. It's free! The roads are very nice and paved. The sites are paved with gravel on the sides under utilities and table. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

I went to Tombstone. It's interesting if you enjoy history of the old west and only a 30 minute drive. Bisbee is another half hour. I didn't go there but my neighbors enjoyed it.

This is a very nice resort. It is very neat and well maintained. The pull-thru sites are paved and mostly level. Most sites appear to have a hump in the middle probably to avoid standing water. If you are using it for just an overnight stop the sites are not long enough to leave your toad attached. The sites along the outside of the park are all gravel. There is no fire pit or grill, but there is a picnic table. They have a nice small pool and hot tub although we did not get the opportunity to try them. They have their own observatory but unfortunately it was not operational while we were there. The roads in and around the park are wide enough to easily get around. There is shopping nearby. It is a block away from a railroad and the trains pass through about every 20 minutes. The cable had only a few channels. The WI-FI worked well. It is a good place to stay if you plan to see the sights during the day and only use the park to sleep. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Our rate was Passport America. Lovely place, that is typical of a snowbird type RV park with paved roads, nice landscaping, well-maintained grounds and good hookups. Our site had a paved surface for the RV with crushed gravel. There is a nice smaller heated pool, a trade library, a computer in the building to use, clean modern restrooms & showers, a very clean laundry area ($1.75/wash), a dog walk area. The hot tub and observatory were down when we were there and they were waiting for parts. There is a grocery store 1 block away & a post office across the street. Office & grounds workers were super pleasant and it was not busy in May. Tengo internet was available. We had good Verizon reception. We loved it here. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Travel Trailer.

Wonderful rv park. Lots of activities. Very clean restrooms, I don't think I have ever seen anything cleaner. Even the laundry room was very clean. Office has great hours from 8-5 seven days a week. Pool was closed for a couple of days for safety as the wind had blown a lot of yellow pollen into the water but after the filters cleared it we enjoyed our time in the water. I will be back. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Blacktop parking pad. Day trips to Tombstone, Kartchner Caverns, Tucson, Sierra Vista, Bisbee, etc.

We stayed for 7 days and 5 of those days the pool was closed. The water looked foggy and they must have had problems with it. The restroom was dirty and the same dirt stains on the floor were there for 5 days. Also the trash can was over flowing so no one had cleaned in there for awhile. Just about every time we went to the office it was closed. When we came to register on arrival we had to wait about 5 minutes at the front desk as the clerk was in back and said she'd be right out. We had cable TV but not many channels. One channel went out and never came back leaving us with one less channel. This used to be a very nice resort and we looked forward to relaxing by the pool but being closed most of the time, we were not able to use it. We were not satisfied with our stay and would not stop here again. It seemed to have gone downhill. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this park last year and loved it so much came back again this year. Last year we thought the park was already great, but this year it seemed even better! Roads resealed, picnic tables painted, and just as before, friendly as ever! We were told that April is the first month of the off season, so most of the staff is gone forcing them to close the office for an hour at lunch. I was amazed that they were still open 7 days a week until 5 pm. We have been to a lot of parks in off season, only to find very limited everything. They even had a few activities still going on at Butterfield. Even with their summer skeleton staff, the park was still very clean, great bathrooms, and clean showers. The pool was closed for a few days when we were there...while it was sad to not be able to use it, we had to admire how hard the manager was working to get it re-opened. The park has a pine tree at every site, (not common in AZ) which we love, but some high winds and lots of pollen made it really difficult to keep the pool clean.

We love the park, the people, and everything this area has to offer so much we are thinking about buying a park model! We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

The park is in a great location and the customer service was very friendly and professional. The facilities are modern, very well kept, and clean, but the sites are poorly designed. The sites were too short, and given the location of the utilities, it was difficult to park in the site. The site was very uneven, in both directions, and it was hard to level. The most level part of the site was not convenient to the utilities. The sewer was so far away that I was unable to access it, even though I parked so it was directly adjacent to my sewer outlet (the sewer inlets are located halfway between the two sites, instead of near the other utilities. The wifi was Tengo (say no more...) and barely worked, but at least they didn't charge for it. The "free cable TV" consisted of three local channels. Cell signal was decent. I might stop at this place when the PA discount is in effect in the future, but I would not pay 32 a night to stay here again. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Two minutes' walk to Safeway and Ace, and only a few minutes more to Walmart.

Wonderful nightly observatory show. Park has lots of activities for residents n short term guests . Staff is excellent. Immaculate park. Benson has basic shopping and restaurants. Stayed several days. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

The facility was very well kept, activities were well organized and there was a lot of variety - water aerobics, line dancing, walk exercise, zumba, "tag alongs" (i.e. fieldtrips) to nearby attractions. Ask at the desk to buy a Passport book. It costs $18.00 but gets you into area attractions for a discount or a 2fer price. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The observatory was a great perk! (nightly rate reflects monthly rate of $460 + elec) We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Safeway with a Starbucks is within walking distance; Walmart is a short drive. Lots of good restaurants in the area. Tombstone is close by and a lot of fun!

This park has nice paved roads and parking pads. The community building was nice and the restrooms very clean. My only minor complaint is that the parking pad had such a hump in that we had to borrow some blocks and board to build another step to avoid an 18" step getting in and out of our unit. Oh, there were those train whistles too; after the first dozen or so they didn't bother us and we did sleep through the noise. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of the nicest parks we have ever stayed in. I would give it a 10 but there is a problem with trains. The tracks are only a block away and there are 20 or 30 trains a day (and night) going by, blowing their horns through town. It did wake us up at night several times. Other than that, this is a lovely park, well cared for and run by people who really have a commitment to their guests. There is something going on every night from pot luck dinners to quilting affairs. The park is immaculately clean. Restrooms, Showers & Laundry are spotless. Pads are level concrete with the general area being gravel. WiFi & Cable were very good. Site are long, wide and well spaced. There is an observatory on site with nightly viewings available. This park is located right behind a Safeway and you can easily walk to do shopping. We will always stay here when traveling on I-10. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Tombstone, AZ is 26 miles away and worth the ride.
