We stayed for a week and were able to get the summer rate of only $29 a night, park is mostly seniors but lots of transients come through - lots to do, heated pool, wood shop, Ham radio station, putting green, golf driving cage, two fenced dog areas. Full calendar of snow bird activities, the club house had computers, great laundry and tv area and pool table The observatory program was well done - it lasted about 2 1/2 hours and each person got to look through the telescope about 6-8 times - the program was free Limited tv stations and the trains tracks being so close were strong negatives. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Very clean and maintained park. Only downside we're the trains at night. Very loud but if you can deal with it it's worth staying. Very close to many fun places to visit. Bisbee and Tombstone. The city golf course was also well maintained and we golfed 18 holes. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

Very well maintained park. Sites, while lined up next to each other do have an area of gravel rock separating them. Clubhouse, swimming pool, laundry, library as well as the grounds were immaculate. After spending the winter season in the desert it was nice to have pine trees at each site. Added bonus was the observatory program offered free to guests. Lots of information and fun to see the stars through the telescope. The program was a bit long but well worth it. Got to see Jupiter and its moons! Tips for other Campers:

13 miles from Kartchner Caverns State Park, rated number one for cave tours in the USA. Make reservations ahead of time! About 35 miles to Tombstone. Fun touristy town with emphases on the Gunfight at the OK corral and stagecoach rides. Rode in an authentic Butterfield Stagecoach from the 1800's.

Great park. Large level gravel sites. Fair cable TV. Friendly staff and friendly campers. Paved road. Stayed there in 2005 and it was good then and has only gotten better. There is an active train track nearby so train whistles are frequent. Wonderful pool and hot tub. Pickle ball court available and they lend out paddles and balls. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

This park would be a 9 if the trains do not bother you or a 7 if they do. The train noise is loud with the horns blasting all night. When sitting outside it is hard to carry on a conversation. The park is extremely clean with a nice but small pool. The roads are wide and access is easy. The sites are too small to keep your tow car attached with a larger rig (+40 ft.). A well maintained park with lots to do in the area, we will return. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Very nice park, good condition and well managed. Benson is a good location to tour the local area. Tombstone, caravans, wineries and buffalo solder area all close within a hour. Benson itself not much to talk about. Plan on eating at the camper. Only one issue, bring your ear plugs as the trains run all night. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here with an RV group. The owner let us use their meeting room for our pot luck supper. The facility was spotless!. They were able to put our group all in sites next to each other. Very nice sites, clean, spacious, had small trees between sites. There are many RV parks in the area, but this appears to be about the best. Enjoyed our stay here. The only negative for me was the internet - it is Tengo - and I have never had good experience with this service. It is usually slow and often hard to connect to the internet through it. However, it was free, so what can I say? We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at Butterfield's RV park for 5 days while we waited for our dogs medicine to catch up with us. This is a beautiful, small park. It is very well maintained and the office staff is very nice and friendly and the observatory is not to be missed. There is an observatory on the property and free to all who use the park. Our guide was great, explaining the mystery of the stars to us and we each got to look through the lenses at each star. They have the observatory open every night. Well worth a stop. Overall Rating:

This is a nice RV resort right off I-10. Easy on/off freeway access. Wide, paved roads. Plenty of pull-throughs and reasonably long. They are domed sites, so you do have an abrupt curb coming and going (if you're a low-rider, take heed). We did noticed that Class A's with a toad may scrape when entering/exiting sites. One lady at the lobby check-in was VERY friendly and accommodating. The other woman the following days we were there: not-so-much.

They have a pickle ball court (they also have paddles and balls) and FREE ice machine! That's pretty awesome. The pickle ball court is locked so you need to ask for the key. If you want it before the office opens at 0800 then ask for it the night before. There is a Safeway right at the corner, and yes, you can walk there. Would say the cable TV is poor. We tried AIR as well and got fewer channels, but cable was iffy and fuzzy. They do have good WiFi, but you order/sign on with TengoInternet. It's free and you need a code for each device, but they were willing to give out codes for as many devices as needed. If you already have a TengoInternet account, then just sign on. They have washer/dryers, library, lounge/seating area and a nice pool and hot tub. Again, be prepared to know lock codes.

This is the CLEANEST RV Park we've been to in awhile. The friendly maintenance guy was always buzzing around cleaning, monitoring and just being friendly. It's a nice park and yes, we'd stay again. Have no pets, so can't comment on that, nor did we have a desire to see the observatory, but to be honest, the office did ask us if we HAD any pets (no), but didn't ask if we wanted to see/use the observatory. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed at this site one night when heading east! The campground is located in a good area, not too far off the I-10. Checked in on a reservation I made a few week prior to the trip and they were ready for us when we showed up. The park is in good condition and well maintained. It had a few full timers and the rigs were old. The sites are okay for a small to medium size motor home. We have a large motorhome 43' and we fit front to back in the site. The sites are not really level the slope on each end of the site, but its okay. Overall good place, very friendly people in the office. I would stay here again if I was passing through again. This park in Benson, AZ, has easy access from I-10 at exit 303. Upon arrival I was struck by the cleanliness of the park. Their groundskeeper is a constant presence every day keeping the park pristine. Roads are paved, and sites are either paved or gravel pull-thrus, or gravel back-ins. They do have rules here which they enforce, particularly about pet cleanliness. My only negative is that the gravel is large stones, which makes it somewhat difficult for pets and handicapped. Easy trip to Tombstone and Bisbee. The Observatory is free to guests. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

This park might be the cleanest, most well maintained RV park we've ever stayed in. Unfortunately, we only stayed 1 night because we were on our way towards the East coast. The bathrooms/showers were great. And though we didn't use them, the pool area and laundry room were clean and tidy also. There's a pool table in the clubhouse where hubby and I played a quick game. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. They offer their guests a free nightly show in their observatory but it was cancelled that night due to wind. The only negative was that we had no shade at our site. But we would highly recommend this park and would definitely stay here again. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Best park ever. So clean you could eat off streets there are constantly staff sweeping streets etc. Doggie areas are fenced but on the small side and gravel. Pull through sites are not long enough to keep car hooked up but each have tree and picnic benches. Only a half hour drive to Tombstone. Loved looking through the microscope at the observatory. Highly recommend We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

The park is well maintained and the sites are paved. Easy access to the interstate and nice day trips to Bisbee, Tombstone, Tucson, and a National Park.
