This is a nice RV resort right off I-10. Easy on/off freeway access. Wide, paved roads. Plenty of pull-throughs and reasonably long. They are domed sites, so you do have an abrupt curb coming and going (if you're a low-rider, take heed). We did noticed that Class A's with a toad may scrape when entering/exiting sites. One lady at the lobby check-in was VERY friendly and accommodating. The other woman the following days we were there: not-so-much.

They have a pickle ball court (they also have paddles and balls) and FREE ice machine! That's pretty awesome. The pickle ball court is locked so you need to ask for the key. If you want it before the office opens at 0800 then ask for it the night before. There is a Safeway right at the corner, and yes, you can walk there. Would say the cable TV is poor. We tried AIR as well and got fewer channels, but cable was iffy and fuzzy. They do have good WiFi, but you order/sign on with TengoInternet. It's free and you need a code for each device, but they were willing to give out codes for as many devices as needed. If you already have a TengoInternet account, then just sign on. They have washer/dryers, library, lounge/seating area and a nice pool and hot tub. Again, be prepared to know lock codes.

This is the CLEANEST RV Park we've been to in awhile. The friendly maintenance guy was always buzzing around cleaning, monitoring and just being friendly. It's a nice park and yes, we'd stay again. Have no pets, so can't comment on that, nor did we have a desire to see the observatory, but to be honest, the office did ask us if we HAD any pets (no), but didn't ask if we wanted to see/use the observatory. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed at this site one night when heading east! The campground is located in a good area, not too far off the I-10. Checked in on a reservation I made a few week prior to the trip and they were ready for us when we showed up. The park is in good condition and well maintained. It had a few full timers and the rigs were old. The sites are okay for a small to medium size motor home. We have a large motorhome 43' and we fit front to back in the site. The sites are not really level the slope on each end of the site, but its okay. Overall good place, very friendly people in the office. I would stay here again if I was passing through again. Nice park. Paved road, paved sites. Very well maintained. No trees and quite a bit of train noise. But great for the price in this area. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Mi Casa restaurant a couple of blocks away is a hole in the wall with great food. Presentation was that of a 5 star! Didn't expect it. Little horses and cactus made from tortillas on my wrap. Impressive.

This park in Benson, AZ, has easy access from I-10 at exit 303. Upon arrival I was struck by the cleanliness of the park. Their groundskeeper is a constant presence every day keeping the park pristine. Roads are paved, and sites are either paved or gravel pull-thrus, or gravel back-ins. They do have rules here which they enforce, particularly about pet cleanliness. My only negative is that the gravel is large stones, which makes it somewhat difficult for pets and handicapped. Easy trip to Tombstone and Bisbee. The Observatory is free to guests. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

This park might be the cleanest, most well maintained RV park we've ever stayed in. Unfortunately, we only stayed 1 night because we were on our way towards the East coast. The bathrooms/showers were great. And though we didn't use them, the pool area and laundry room were clean and tidy also. There's a pool table in the clubhouse where hubby and I played a quick game. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. They offer their guests a free nightly show in their observatory but it was cancelled that night due to wind. The only negative was that we had no shade at our site. But we would highly recommend this park and would definitely stay here again. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Tombstone is an easy drive from this park and was our only outing since we only stayed 1 night. We wanted to visit Bisbee but didn't have time. There's an Ace Hardware and a grocery store right around the corner.

Best park ever. So clean you could eat off streets there are constantly staff sweeping streets etc. Doggie areas are fenced but on the small side and gravel. Pull through sites are not long enough to keep car hooked up but each have tree and picnic benches. Only a half hour drive to Tombstone. Loved looking through the microscope at the observatory. Highly recommend We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

The park is well maintained and the sites are paved. Easy access to the interstate and nice day trips to Bisbee, Tombstone, Tucson, and a National Park. We went to Old Tucson and a fabulous Nature center. The observatory was closed for the three days we were there due to wind. The staff and facilities were exceptional. You won't be disappointed. Very nice clean park, the paved pads are domed, which is weird and hard to level a large rig. The doggie runs are gravel, my dogs like grass.....even fake would be nice. The pool was wonderful except it needed skimming a few times a day as there were a lot of dead bugs on the surface. The trains are insane! Every 15 mins during the night all night, and blow the whistles all through town, nothing they can help but if your a light sleeper like me I didn't get any sleep! The WIFI only worked at the club house. The Observatory was very nice, I read some reviews after the fact that said you had to have a reservation, we didn't, we just walked in with our dogs , the guy welcomed us and we sat down, timed it right I guess. It was very informative. I was only there 2 nights. It really is a nice place for the money, but because of trains and WIFI issues I won't be back... We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Make sure you get reservations well in advance for the caverns, we didn't and therefore missed seeing them. Safeway is handy as is Walmart. We filled our water bottles on the corner for .20 a gallon!

Very nice layout. And most sites are paved. The utilities are at the extreme rear of the sites. BUT. The water pressure is so low, as to not be usable. We had to fill our tank and use our pump. The man in the office said, it's because they are full. NOT acceptable. This answer means someone did not engineer the utilities properly when the park was built. I have stayed all over the country, at parks completely full, and had good water pressure. It is not possible to shower in your RV with the pressure here. And the WIFI is the same. Too slow to use. When I asked, I got the same answer. Park is full. STAY somewhere else. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

The sites are paved or gravel and were just long enough for our 42 foot 5th wheel. The area between the sites was very small, and the picnic tables are 2/3 size. The office staff stated that they did not help or answer phone calls in the 15 minutes before closing because they are always busy with other things. A train and/or a helicopter goes by every 20 minutes all night long. IF the observatory is open, it opens at exactly 7pm for 16 predesignated people only, and you must be there 30 minutes early. If you want to sign up to view, you'd better get into the office before 5:45pm or be ignored. We had four people in our party, two of which were kids, and were charged a premium for the seven year old but not the five year old. The Passport America discount is not half off. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

Garmin GPS took us directly to the CG. Campground is just off the Benson 4th street, behind the Safeway grocery store on South Ocotillo Avenue. Front desk and staff very friendly and helpful. Credit cards accepted. No tent camping, cabins, or yurts. CG roads are asphalt in excellent condition, wide with gentle turns and no overhead obstacles. FHU-20/30/50. Short-term visitors get asphalt, pull-thru sites but "arched" making leveling tricky. Longer term visitors get gravel, back-in sites. Comfortable space between sites, gravel with token landscaping. Pedestal at rear of sites with 4" threaded sewer connection just above ground level. Picnic tables but no patios. Numerous tall trees make satellite antenna placement tricky. No fires permitted. Good water pressure with "ok" taste. No office store. Restrooms/showers look brand-new, clean and modern (score "A"). Propane sales. Laundry has smaller, front-loading machines. No playground. Cable TV has limited channels. Tengo Wi-Fi free for short-term visitors with good speed and ample bandwidth. Verizon coverage at "5-bars"; 4G coverage at "4-bars". Fitness room, pool, spa, putting green, pickleball court, ham radio room with equipment (must be licensed), and a TELESCOPE OBSERVATORY. Loud, irritating railroad whistles "constantly" but minimal traffic noise. No recycle bins. Bug Report: no notable insect issues in February. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

Benson is a nice, small town, a way-point along the interstate. Local landromat out-of-business. Wal-Mart. Safeway groceries with Starbucks. No national restaurant chains. Wendys, Little Ceasers, Subway. A Verizon store. Diesel at Chevron at $2.699. One bank. No Camping World or other RV stores but numerous RV mobile repair companies; see list on CG map. Ace hardware.

2nd time staying here. Very clean park. Join in the clubhouse activities: e.g Valentine Dinner Dance, Saturday breakfast. Really strict on using the dog parks. Very convenient to area attractions: Tombstone, Bisbee, Willcox wineries, Pima Air and Space Museum, Kartchner Caverns, Tubac. Only 45 minutes to downtown Tucson. While many of the sites at RV parks in this part of the country are simply dirt or sand, this park is beautiful. The sites are concrete pads, all asphalt roads with flowers and other details that show pride of ownership. The most unusual feature is the observatory. A limited number of campers are allowed to experience the evening show, weather permitting. We have stayed there twice and got to see spectacular views of Saturn and some galaxies, or other heavenly objects both times. It is one of our favorite RV parks in the country. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

The reason I gave this a low rating is the noise from the train. You will hear 10-20 horn blasts at least 4-5 times a night. The tracks are less than a mile away. It's a shame otherwise I would give it an 8. Nice pool and jacuzzi. Small dog park. Telescope was closed. Close to town, but would never stay there again!
